2015 IPA is Dead series. From the central European plains of Germany, comes something very different. A blast of tangerine and orange, Mandarina Bavaria brings a highly distinctive backbone of flavour. This is down to its parent – Cascade – and a frankly enormous 70% myrcene oil content. If equate Germany solely with earthy, spicy Noble hops, Mandarina Bavaria will make you think again.

3.5(bottle, 33cl) Almost cloudy, pale golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Citrus-fruity hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit and tangerine, accompanied by herbal and slightly resiny notes. Bitter and delicately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Mildly bready malty base with moderately fruity (tangerine, grapefruit) and herbal hops; moderately dry, bitter and slightly sweet finish with lighter fruity, but herbal spicy and slightly resiny hops. 30.VIII.15

3.9From a 330ml bottle on 5/9/2015. Pours a hazy lightish golden with a small head. Has a mild pleasant citrus and tropical fruit aroma. The flavour features sweet orange and mandarin, with a touch of apricot. There’s a firm, slightly spicy hop bitterness which finishes things off. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A very solid, very quaffable fruit driven IPA.

3.4Bottle. The fruitiest in this years IPA is Dead collection so far, mostly lemon and orange. Still too much on the malty side for my taste, I seem to prefer to aroma hoppy ones.
3.7Pours a cloudy golden with a fluffy off white head. Nose is lots of citrus, lemon and orange, but also a little spicy noble note. Flavor is very clean, good mandarin notes, a little spicy. Biscuity finish, gone from the palate quickly. I like this hop a lot, pretty simply, good flavors, very clean.
