2015 IPA is Dead Series. Pioneer hails from the hop gardens of Kent, and for those expecting something classically English, they surprise with an unforeseen blast of lemony citrus. Bookended with a herbal, cedar quality, these high alpha UK hops pack a pithy zing not often seen from these hop-growing isles.

2.9Poured golden with white head. Citrus sweet malty aroma. Sharp citrus flavours smack you in the face at the start. lemon, grapefruit, quite hoppy but not that gone on this one
3.8Tap at Kulovy Blesk. Hazy orange golden color with medium white head. Malty, light hoppy aroma. Taste, citrus hops with zest, pines. Long hoppy bitter finish. Very good.
3.5Tap at Kulovy blesk. Quite interesting fruity and grassy hops flavour. The whole beer is hops centered. High bitterness and a plain base with no prominent malty base.
3.4Bottle - Slight hazy orange colour, medium white head, good retention and lacing. Grassy and herbal aromas with some lemon zest and grapefruit. Taste is mildly bitter with grassy and earthy notes, some biscuit and butterscotch. Medium body average carbonation, dry, moderate bitter finish. A bit strange, but good IPA.
3.4The final from this series. Gold hazy ale. Thick white head. Incredibly lemony light hoppiness on the nose. Taste islemon, tea and then a malty grapefruit kick in the finish. Some herbiness. Not too shabby, but had a lot to live up to. Yum!
3.0Pale gold pour with a thin white head. Slight citrus aroma under the malt but pretty mild. Taste is similar. It’s malty, there’s some lemon - bit underwhelming.
2.8Backlog rating. Keg at BD Shoreditch, London. It pours a clear pale golden color with medium white head. Aroma is grainy starchy, citric light grassy. Taste is also quite muted and grainy, grassy with light citrus note. Medium bodied with sparkling carbonation. Overall, meh
3.2Bottle from Beer Cartel 141015. Okay without being outstanding, easy enough to drink . Bit light on for me.
3.6Bottle @ home. Slightly hazy yellow with a small white head. Smells hops, malts, sweet, slightly yeasty. Tastes sweet, malty, hops, yeasty. Nothing crazy. Medium body, soft carbo.
2.9A surprisingly poor tasting hop... Kinda low on flavour - a hint of citrus - meh.
2.7bottled, thanks to baerwaldt for bringing this along to the zhurak tap takeover at francis. faintly hazed golden; simple citric aroma, hints of menthol; medium bitterness; feels a bit bland and flabby

3.1330mL bottle that pours a light cloudy golden street colour. Nice light citrus aroma with a grassy pine flavour.
2.9Clear golden color with an ok white head. A bit to herbal for my likings when it comes to an IPA. Also citric and mild tropical. Not the best one in this IPA is dead collection.
[Bottle from Systembolaget Trollhättan - Överby Köpcenter in Sweden]
3.2Tap@gastro pub Kaleva. Hazy light orange color with small white head. Aroma has citrus, mandarin, piney hops. Taste is malty with a long bitter finish. Flavors of malt, citrus, mandarin, piney hops.
2.9Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Oh damm, this smells so British it almost hurts. Earthy, spicy hops - oh well, could’ve been worse I guess. Medium body, solid base bitterness but also unrefined. Roughish. 150915
3.2Colore biondo torbido, schiuma scarsa.
Profumo tenue, floreale, fruttato, agrumato.
In bocca poco frizzante, malto dolce, bell’amaro agrumato.
3.2(bottle, 33cl) Cloudy, pale golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Citrus-fruity and slightly sweaty and flowery hoppy aroma with a mildly malty background. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dry, slightly bready malty base with mainly citric and slightly floral hops; dry and moderately bitter hoppy finish with mildly citric and herbal spicy accents. 30.VIII.15
3.7From a 330ml bottle on 6/9/2015. Pours a cloudy golden with a medium white head. The nose is light and fruity. In the mouth, you gets lots of lemon against a background of sweet orange, with some honey in the mix. The hops are medium in intensity with some lemony sourness lingering. The body is medium and the carbonation lively. Pretty solid, and I’m a bit surprised by the poor reception for it on here. Preferred this to the Chinook.
3.3Hazy golden from bottle. Cedar and lemon in the aroma. Nice palate full body. Citrus lemon in taste and a nice bitterness
3.2How: Bottle.
Where: Systembolaget.

Aroma: Fruit, floral, herbal.

3.3Bottle. Semi hazy orange blond beer with a large white head. Aroma is fruity with notes of citrus, danky hops, onions, earthy notes, caramel and herbs. Flavor is spicy with notes of citrus, caramel, herbs, earthy hops and danky hops. Well balanced.
3.3Lemon/pale orange in colour with a stark white head. Citrus and floral hop aromas, smells really sweet, perhaps a hint of apricot. Sits at 7.2% and you can taste every bit of it, not well hidden at all. Bitterness is quite up front, but it’s balanced out by quite a puckering sweetness. Quite syrupy on the tongue, oily even, a pleasent ending to a nice but uninspiring beer.
3.4Bottle at home. Pours yellow with a white head. Aroma of malts, light fruit, hops. Taste is hops, malts, citrus, light herbal, light grape. Lacks dryness
3.5Pours gold with a small head.
Nose shows herbal and earthy hops along with some clean malt.
Flavours include spicy and herbal hops along with very faint clean malt.
3.6Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. Hazy pale straw coloured with a thin white head. It has a peppery hop and tropical fruity flavour with toffee and a soapy and boozy fruity and biscuit finish.
3.7Hazy golden with almost no head. Nose is actually quite lovely and gentle. I definitely get lemony citrus, and I also get the cedar quality, also slightly herbal. Flavor is more of that slightly woody flavor, lots of lemon blossom sort of flavor, a little grain flavor, piney but quite clean finish. Medium body, prickly carbonation. I always love single hop IPAs because you get to experience the essence of a hop, and quite often a hop that’s not often found in an IPA. I like this hop a lot, and I’d definitely use it my own brewing.
3.5Bottled. Golden coloured. Unclear. Small off white dense head. Aroma. Herbs, flowers, grass, grape. Flavour of herbs, flowers, citrus and some grass. Medium bodied. Ends grassy light astringent bitter.
2.7Bottle. Muffled aroma, bland and uninteresting taste. Good crispiness. If that is what a UK hops should do, I don’t need more of this...
