BrewDog Kamikaze Knitting Club

BrewDog Kamikaze Knitting Club

A 7.5% maple stout, Kamikaze combines dark malts with a classic Canadian export - maple syrup, adding to the warming malty and smoky character. The maple sweetness is balanced out by a healthy dose of Sorachi Ace, resulting in a herbal and coconutty hop character against a backdrop of chocolate and roasted maltiness.

4.2 Tap @ KeyKeg International Beer Festival, Den Helder IX 2018.
Koffie, toffee, ahornsiroop, cacao. Milde bittere afdronk. Smaak is oké maar mondgevoel beetje dun.
3.8 33cl can. A clear very dark reddish brown beer with a mid-sized most good lasting tan head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee, liquorice, melasse. Taste of sweet dark malt, coffee, liquorice, lactose, some sugar. Good!
3.6 Pours a pitch black coloration with a large, creamy head. Smells of roasted, caramel malt, chocolate and maple syrup, with a hint of coffee and licorice. Taste follows the nose, being dominated by roasted, caramel malt, chocolate and maple, with hints of coffee, licorice and tobacco. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and quite a bit more licorice coming through in the aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel with a light/medium body and medium carbonation. This has a good balance of sweet and roasted, bitter notes but is not very rich, suffering from a somewhat thin and watery body and mouthfeel. Really not that bad for 2€ a can though.
3.2 can. Iodine, dill, light herring, roast, chocolate mousse. medium light. dark roast, walnut maple retronasal, burned danish, coconut frosting, exploded dulce de leche. Did not come together as a whole.
3.6 Can. Hazy brown color with beige head. Aroma is dill, roast, burnt milk chocolate, liquorice, no real maple in the aroma. Taste is walnutty, maple, chocolate, dill, coconut, lemongrass. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Smooth one, but could be more pronounced on the maple.
3.7 Dark brown almost black, small head. Aroma is malt, maple, caramel, sweet. Taste is the same, sticky maple sweetness, noice
3.6 Bottle at NAIV. Black with a beige, creamy head. Aroma of maple syrup. Taste is burnt grains, dark chocolate, mildly bitter with a lingering maple syrup sweetness at the end. Pleasant.
3.5 330ml can. Jet black colour with average, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Roasty dark malty, minimally smoky aroma, notes of an chocolate-maple syrup amalgamation, a touch of tobacco. Taste is roasty dark malty and moderately bitter hoppy, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, hints of maple syrup, toffee, hoppy counterweight with a minimally metallic coconut touch, subtle sweetness, emergent blueberry overtones.
3.7 From tap at Oedipus. Pours black with a tan head. Maple syrupy, roasted malts, light metallic, chocolate, light coconut.

3.6 Pours black, rather big, mildly tanned head. Smell is mild maple, tad roasty, rather dry. Taste is medium full, mild maple. Médium thin body, médium Carbo. Not too shabby. Rather dry, roasty. Maple really lifts it up tho.
3.5 Can at home thanks to Maakun. Sweet roasted rye. Bit dusty old doppelbock, nutty, walnuts, hazelnuts, old leaves, the maple is not strong in this one. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation.
3.5 Can shared thanks to martjoboolut. Black with big fluffy beige head. Earthy roast, lots of licorice, dusty old nuts, dead leaves, slick toasty grains, light maple, black olives, rye bread. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with slick oily feel. But too much licorice, I expected more maple 🍁, but it’s not bad.
3.9 Can from BeerShop.gr,, enjoyed at Gunnarsbu. Pours black with a big creamy beige head. Aroma of dark malts, spicy chocolate and dark sugars. Taste is mellow dark malty, chocolate,, herbs, sugars and some sticky toffee,, nice one
4.1 Aromat nie zachwyca, jest dość mizerny. Lekkie majaczenie palonych słodów oraz charakterystycznego syropu klonowego. Wygląd bez zarzutów, klarowne, ciemnobrunatne, powinno być trochę ciemniejsze. Odczucie w ustach dość dobre, piwo gładkie, dość lekkie, nagazowane odpowiednio. W smaku jest dość płytkie, lekkie. Czuć czekoladę, czuć syrop klonowy. Na końcu pojawia się przyjemna, zbalansowana paloność. Alkohol lekko rozgrzewa. Goryczki chmielowej nie zauważono. Nie jest źle, bo pije się przyjemnie, ale oczekiwania były większe.
3.5 Główny problem to wodnistość. Syrop klonowy dla mnie w przyjemnej formie, trochę kawy zbożowej, mało głębii i pełni. Przyzwoite piwo, nic ponadto.
3.6 33 cl. Can. a dark brown coloured beer. Aroma and flavour of roasted malt, hops, maple, chocolate, coffee and with a smoky bitter finish.
4.1 330ml can. Pours a deep black with off white head. Head on the nose, light chocolate and coconut. Medium body with rich sweetness and some maple at the end.
3.7 Can. Deep brown. Aroma: heavily roasted, hoppy, some maple syrup, ground coffee. Medium body. Taste: medium dry, fairly roasty. Lots of coffee, hops, some earth. Some syrup sweetness. Decent bitterness. Hoppy aftertaste. Good one
4.0 Sehr geiles Dosen-Layout.
4.0 On tap at Planet Oedipus Music & Beer Festival on 11th August 2018. Black with a medium sized beige coloured head. Aroma of cocao nibs, roasted malt, coconut and hops. Full body and soft carbonation. Taste of roasted malt, chocolate, syrup, coconut and hops. Rich, fruity - a lovely coconut stout.
5.0 Stout extremamente saborosa....no aroma e sabor notas intensas de café chocolate amargo e torrefação....notas que se repete no paladar.... Maravilhosa
4.2 AR: maple syrup, coffee, caramel, coconut, licorice AP: clear black TA: coffee, caramel, maple syrup, licorice
3.5 Tap at The Brew Dog Nottingham. Pours black with broken tan lacing. Aroma gas licorice, coconut and smoke. Taste is medium sweet to full ashy bitterness. The maple syrup is more on the label than either the nose or tongue. Palate is medium bodied, oily feel, average carbonation and yes, slightly ashy finish. So I won't be taking up knitting.
4.1 Pours black with a large tan head. Nose shows cocoa, coconut, soft roast, light toasty malt, some liquorice and bready notes. Flavours include more cocoa, lots of roasted, bready and toasty malt, more liquorice and soft coffee. Quite dry.
