BrewDog Paradox Heaven Hill

BrewDog Paradox Heaven Hill

bottle and keg,series special

Imperial Stout aged in American Bourbon Barrels for 12 months. A schizophrenic translatlantic son of a bitch of a beer. Huge, decadent imperial stout clashes in the most beautiful way with the best incarnation of the American Dream since Nixon choked on a cheeseburger. We think this might just be the best Paradox ever. Available in both keg and bottle.

4.5 BrewDog - Paradox Heaven Hill. Imperial Stout Matured in Heaven Hill Bourbon Casks. Alkohol: 15% obj. Warka: 079 Data butelkowania: 21.03.2024 Kolor: Czarny, całkowicie nieprzejrzysty. W kolejnym podejściu cukier Muscovado, pralonki belgijskie i ciasteczka maślane. Na samym dnie kapka ciemnych owoców. Smak: Wow! Miazga! Monstrualna bourbonowa beczka. Piwo przesiąkło dębiną, a wraz z nią nabrało potężnej kokosowo-waniliowej mocy. Alkohol został całkowicie zamieciony pod dywan. Sam trunek rozpływał dosłownie się w ustach. Prawdopodobnie najlepszy Imperial Stout z Brewdoga jaki piłem!
4.4 Dark brown color with brownish head. Aroma has toffee, caramel, some dark cherries and light umami. Taste has toffee, burnt sugar, bittersweet caramel on the finish with lingering dark chocolate and cacao. Medium body with soft carbonation. Really well made and tasty with good balance and well hidden ABV.
4.0 Tasting session with Višnja 666 and Goran Pilot in summer of 2017. Thanks! Black. Roasty, dried fruits, sugar, leather, barrel, cherry. Very dry, very roasty, heavy dark chocolate flavour, boozy. Full body, moderate carbonation, boozy finish reminding of dried fruits. Very nice, thick and complex.
4.6 Uzupełnienie profilu notatki Piana małe i średnie oczka opada, tworzy niewielki kremowy krążek, który towarzyszy do końca degustacji. Kolor czarny.
4.4 Drank 23-11-17 while witing. Tastes more like a barley wine. Very sweet and rich. Bourbon like you want it, not peaty at all. Very rich taste. Excellent.
4.0 Aroma; big bowl with dark fruits, bourbon berries. Look; beige head, puck black body. Taste; roasted malts, strong dark fruits, caraliquorice, vinous chocolate, oak wood, and finishes in the bowl with strong dark fruits. Feel; semi dry, good body, soft co2. Overall; solid eve sipper. Top brew! [bt.33cl abv15% Brough by Rune to Hafen&Bieres Oktoberfest 7485'16]
4.0 330ml bottle in a box, shared with Finn and djoeye. Pours a coal black body under a tan-coloured, bubbly head. Lacing rings down the glass. Inviting aroma of grainy chocolate, oak and earth. Rich taste of chocolate malts, wood, dark bread, and coffee on a careful bourbon backbone. Lingering and warming finish. Full bodied. Superb. (Rating session at Finns, Tromsø 08.11.2017).
Svart. Lysebrunt filmskum. Aroma av plommer. Silkemyk munnfølelse. Smaken balansert. Lakris & eik. Alkoholen framstår som en tørr ettersmak. Veldig bra!
3.8 7th September 2017 Opaque dark brown beer, good tan head. Palate is light and smooth, decent fine carbonation. Fresh tasting dark malts, even though this has been lurking in my cellar for more than a year. Sweetish dark malts, some cream and even a touch of milky sweetness. Mellow dark chocolate. Fair bit of spice from the alcohol and bourbon. The bourbon is there, but never out of control and there is a touch of brandy about the alcohol. Smooth finish. Good stuff. If I had another I would leave it for another 24 months.
4.5 330 ml bottle at home, thanks Jef! Jet black with brown head. Aroma and taste are big and complex, coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon notes, barrel and wood, toffee, slight citrus peel with a slight alcoholic punch in the finish
4.7 A beast of a beer. Kicks you in the head but still fragrant. That’s the Paradox
4.6 A kólaszínű küllem sok esetben a legjobb imperial stoutok jellemvonásaként tűnik fel, kedvező előjelnek tekinthető tehát a mélybarna ital felső rétegének fényáteresztő hatása, a pohár falára ragadó olajos lenyomat, s a csupán egy vékonyka gyűrű formájában megjelenő habréteg. Illatai fenomenálisak, a Paradox-sorozatra jellemző kirobbanó stílussal, vad alkoholossággal, melyben a bourbon vaníliás-kókuszos zamatai mellett egy adag mazsolás, fűszeres rumos, s egy réteg fahordós, vörösboros, portói hangulat is helyet kap. Pikáns, likőrös, csokoládés, bonbonos egyveleg tárul elénk, ízvilága pedig hasonló gazdagság hordozója; karamellás, olvasztott cukros, folyékony csokoládés, szirupos kortyait vibráló alkoholosság perzseli, szivárványos kavalkádot képez a hordóérlelt italok sokaságának izgalmas palettája. Testes, szikrázó mondanivalóval telt kortyainak zárása keserédes kicsengésű, kissé száraz benyomást keltő, az élvezeti érték rovására azonban a legkevésbé sem megy, minden cseppje tömény izgalom, a megismételhetetlenség érzetét kelti, valódi értéket képvisel. Ilyenkor némiképp visszalopja magát a szívembe a skót főzde, ez a típusú sör ugyanis csaknem kikezdhetetlen, lenyűgöző karakter hordozója.
4.1 330 ml bottle in deluxe box bought at Gorgeous Wine & Cigar in Yuen Long in May 2015. Look: Opague deep, Cola black colour with a very thin trace of yeast particles; Near zero head with residual soapy beige foam which fades in 10 seconds; Poor sticky lacing with zero carbonation. Aroma: Very fragrant dark malt which can be smelt as soon as it was opened, with strong Bourbon, strong vanilla, strong Port wine, strong red wine, strong cherries, strong French oak, intense alcohol, liquorices, caramel, toffee, sugar and spices. Wow! Taste: Very strong sweet rich dark malt, with roasted coffee, strong warming alcohol, Bourbon, strong vanilla, red wine, light Port wine, strong oak barrels, strong red fruits, strong caramel, strong toffee, very strong dark chocolate, syrup, spices, lemon, strong bitter hops and grass. Fruity train wreck alert! Body: Full body. Very oily palate. Mouth Feel: Rich dark maltyness in a very viscous background, very sticky to the mouth. Sharp roasted coffee followed swiftly by intense booze and then the delicate combination of red wine, Port wine, Bourbon and vanilla with nice rich red fruityness. Next comes the very strong dark chocolate, with caramel and toffee followed by strong syrup. Spicy bitter with strong lemon to round. Big and beautiful! Alcohol: the 15% booze with bourbon barrel is in-your-face, hit you mercilessly with strong liquorices and syrup. It seems to mix with the fruity winey taste quite well. A decent sipper so go slow is the key! Hoppiness: No nose. Spices, lemon and grass in taste; Bitterness - liquorices and hops - is very strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet-bitter spicy malty finish. After Taste: Fairly dry. Sweet, boozy winey and strong bitter to mouth. Comments: This one’s Bourbon barrel works wonder with a resulting combos of very fruity wines and liquors in characters, not to mention nice oak barrels, strong dark chocolate and flashes of roasted coffee in taste. The RIS base is totally overwhelmed by the barrels, but it was nice enough to compensate with all the classy element already mentioned. I seldom like BAIS, but I have to say this is a must try!

4.0 330 ml. bottle. Thanks Nikos! Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of malt, bourbon, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is roasted malt, bourbon, dark chocolate, dark fruit, and coffee. Perhaps a bit too much bourbon. Very good.
4.1 Black, small head, aroma of hcocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, toasted oconut, vanilla, wood, whiskey, flavor of chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, toasted coconut, vanilla, wood, whiskey, full bodied.
4.1 Bottle. Black with a small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, wood and vanilla. Same in the taste along with some burnt sugar and a little liquorice. Slightly oily and sweet but any alcohol burn has mellowed nicely.
4.0 Vintage 2014: Pours oily black color, clear, with stable foamy light brown head. Aroma: intense dark and roasted malts aroma, with notes of dark chocolate, espresso coffee, vanilla, oak, and intense bourbon smell, etc. Flavor: intense dark malt and roasted malt flavor, with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa nibs, coffee, supported with intense vanilla note, something which takes on molassses and licorice, but in second half steps forward huge, intense, spicy, almost boozy bourbon note. Finish is slightly bourbon spicy, slightly astringent, dry. Body is full, texture is smooth, carbonation is low. Overall: it would be proper head to head with Lost abbey track 10 or Goose island BCS, but for sure both are pretty more balanced in comparison with this one...
4.3 Aus der Flasche getrunken im The Gift. Tiefschwarz ohne Schaum. In der Nase schwarze Schokolade. Voller Fruchtkörper mit Vanille, Trockenfrüchten u.v.a.m.

4.1 (BrewDog Paradox Heaven Hill) Bottle 330 ml received a couple of years ago from Cuso, many thanks! Served into a teku, ABV 15% Pitch black colour on the body, with a small but thick enough head on top, with good retention and light lacing left behind. Aroma has lots of bourbon, lots of vanilla, light soy sauce, liquiorice, molasses. Taste is very sweet, with molasses, roasted malts, lots of bourbon, alcohol, plenty of vanilla again, light chocolate mainl on the finish, ash, coal. Medium thick body, soft carbonation. Very good.
