4.2 Bottle. Pitch black, oily with small beige head. Aroma of whisky, peat, dark chocolate roastiness. In taste again mainly roasted malts and peated whisky, sweet and full bodied. Very nice oily texture, bitter finish with noticable and warming booze. Great beer.
Davvero super.
3.5 Thanks to Bart for sharing this beer together with Wim at Bart’s place. Black colored beer with medium off-white head and no carbonation. Fruited malty alcoholic aroma; Full sparkling palate. Finish is alcoholic fruited sweet slighly roasted.
Riktigt gott.
4.3 Beautiful beer, black like the night. Aromas have chocolate, malt, whisky and alcohol, maybe vanilla? Taste is malt, chocolate, peat, sweetness and some acidic alcohol. It’s a perfect fit for my taste buds. Awesome Imperial Stout!
3.6 Along with Yves at Bart place black colored body with off white head and a roasted malt coffee caramel aroma a roasted caramel malt coffee alcholic bitter sweet taste with an alcholic bitter finish
3.8 Second tick on the same beer, just a different ABV. Both retah’rd. Don’t matter, got ticked. Count it. Black as hell with minimal head. Aroma is balanced but doesn’t pussyfoot around with the scotch. It’s there in its peaty, smoky, malty glory. Bitter dark 90% cacao content, sugar, roast, molasses. Medium sweet flavor, big and heavy, scotchy, hot. Full bodied with low carbonation, good heat. Intense, but what did you expect, an effing adjunk lager? GTFO clown.
3.9 (Bottle) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, vinous nose with notes of black rye bread, soy sauce, honey, black coffee, tar, hints of smoke and a touch of whisky or dark rum. Malty, roasted taste with soy sauce, smoke, black rye bread, dark chocolate, liquorice, tar and a vinous finish with warming notes of whisky and a balanced roasty bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Powerful and quite boozy, still really tasty and quite well balanced for its strength. Very nice.
4.3 Pours a very dark, creamy beer, with very little foam that disappears almost instantly. Smells of cocoa and dark chocolate. Sweet taste of chocolate and a slight hint of alcohol.
4.0 Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours cloudy mahogany, minimal head, minimal lacing. Aroma is chocolate, soy sauce, barrel. Shockingly little peat given the barrels used. Flavor is Medium sweet, light bitter, rich. Medium body, some heat.
3.6 Bottle shared by Michael. Pours sticky black with small to medium head. Notes were Soy and malty barrel, chocolate, and sweet grain. Easy going for the pct I guess. Not my thing, but a small glass of this on a cold night would be enjoyable.
4.3 Black beer with whisky and wood aroma very present but easier to drink than expected for its 15% vol. The head brown and disappears leaving a good brown lacing. Good Imperial Stout from my "neighbours" in this my first day here.
4.0 Bottle from Vinspecialisten, Aalborg. Sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla and light whisky. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with lots of warming alcohol. Oily. Surprisingly harmonious for a whisky barrel aged impy from Brewdog. 30815
4.2 From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Nice sweet imperial stout, with dark chocolate, roast and noticeable whisky character.
4.4 Whisky barrels, vanilla, cinnamon in taste. Black coffee and green liquorice in aroma. slight bitterness. Deep in colour, creamy and brown the foam.
4.2 had the bottle for over a year, it expired 4 months ago... finally tasting: black. fine brownish foam. malty, molasses smell, maybe hint of licorice. very sweet taste. caramel, buttery taste at first. fine perlage lightens up. over time dark chocolate taste develops, spirit carries cherry. slight roast aromas as sweetness subsides. strong alcohol/spirit mouth feel. maybe it got even better with the extra bottle time...
3.0 Loving Brew Dog. This Paradox Isle of Arran in a 330ml bottle was not what I expected. A very bold creation, strong, very high alcohol rate. Its a totally super strong imperial stout, a strong coffee flavour, toasted, earthy, but most of all, very salty! They taste of soy bean sauce could not get out of my mind. I tryed to get rid off it but could not. It is super strong. Its a complex beer. Not what I was looking for.
3.5 [4/30/15] Draught at Mikkeller & Friends in Copenhagen. Chocolate, coconut, fruitiness, boozy, sweet.
3.0 Draught @ Mikkeller and Friends, Stefansgade. Pours black with small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, heavy peat, wood, medicine, asperin. Flavor is tart, light sweet, malts, l coffee, heavy peat, iodine, heavy booze. Thin to medium body, soft carbonation, tart finish with lots of hot alcohol. Very boozy and not pleasant. 300415
4.6 33 cl bottle, thanks to k0mpsa. Just perfect nose with lots of roasted coffeee and whisky barrel with notes liqorice. Super smooth rich palata with loads of nutty, black coffee like flavors. Just perfectly balanced and long pleasure.
4.5 Bottle from cave a bulles, paris. Black color, brown head. Aroma has whiskey notes, coffee, roasty, wood. Full roasty body, whiskey, smokey, barrels, licorice. Excellent deep flavors.
3.9 330 ml. bottle. Thanks Nikos. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of malt, vanilla, whiskey, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, vanilla, whiskey, smoke, chocolate, and coffee. Hides the 15% well. Very good.
4.3 33cl bottle @ Steampunk Bar. If I didn’t know it, i would never have guessed the ABV on this one. Oily, sweet, chocolaty. Loved it!
4.2 Pours an opaque black beer with little to no brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate and some notes if the whiskey barrels. Taste is sweet, dark chocolate bitterness some slight coffee notes. Alcohol almost not noticeable for a 15% beer. Coats your mouth.
3.7 330ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Black color with beige head. Malty aroma, light roasted, light chocolate, wood, alcohol, vanilla, light wineous - fruity. Sweet and bitter taste, alcoholic like the aroma. Medium to full oily body with soft to flat carbonation.
3.9 330 ml from Crazy Rabbits Craft Beer, Chania Greece. Black color with a thin brown head on top. Aroma of smoke, oak, barrel, alcohol, hints of vanilla, and maybe some berries. Taste follows perfectly the aroma, with barrel, vanilla, some bourbon and smoke notes, some alcohol. Aftertaste is medium long and sweet. Medium body with low carbonation.
Czekolada i ciemne owoce uderzają coraz intensywniej w miarę ogrzewania piwa. Świetne, ciekawe piwo. Na spokojny wieczór, do picia bez pośpiechu, gdyż każdy łyk to niepowtarzalne doznania!
