4.5 Pours so dark its black. The head is huge, dense and tan. The aroma smells like the sweetness off barley syrup but is a little smoky. The flavor is much smokier but the palate is complex with both flowing and foamy textures so it mixes in the other flavors of oak, plum and bittering hops a lot. Haha, pardon the pun and the runon. This is a smooth beer with no hint of alcohol. Very well madr. The peaty character is very good such that if you turn your head you might think someone spiked your beer with Laphroig.
4.0 Bottle - Dark Brown/Black in colour, red against bright light. Islay whisky in the aroma and taste. Mega-Smoky, peaty, tarry, oily; tastes of iodine and seawater. Very malty; roast/burnt malts, espresso coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, toffee, vanilla, oak. Fruity; dark fruits. Hoppy; good hop bitterness. Alcohol (whisky) very evident. Very, very dry finish. Liked this a lot. Very nice Imperial Stout!
3.0 Backlog, tried at a Brewdog tasting. Bottle from Systembolaget. As some people noted, and what should be described as a character-trait for all Brewdog beers, this was over the top.
3.2 Bottle bought some place I can’t remember. Pours black with a frothy dark mocha head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is heavy smokey and malty with roasted malts, smoke, peat, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt wood, vanilla fudge and smoldering hay. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and heavy smokey with roasted malts, smoke, peat, tar, minerals, cookie dough, alcohol, sweetened coffee, milk chocolate, burnt hay and burnt wood. Mouthfeel is soft, roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter and heavy smokey with roasted malts, peat, smoke, alcohol, cookie dough, hay and burnt wood. Over the top...
3.3 Bottle. Pours very dark red, with a mocha head. Aroma is smoke, liquorice, coffee and some alcoholic notes of port wine. Flavour is burned malts, nice bitter coffee, nuts, chocolate and toffee. Some notes of alcohol with a long, very nice and growing sweetly finish.
Gran gran cerveza.
3.6 Pitch black body, small brown head. Aroma has lots of tar and peated notes. Maltiness and sweet whiskey flavour. Some alcohol. Lots of alcohol warmth.
3.6 330 ml bottle. Batch 015. BB 19/08/15. From brewdog.com. Black colour with a small frothy tan head. Roasted malt, whiskey, ashy dryness and smoke in the aroma. The flavour is tar, roasted malt, whiskey, mild berries and ashy dryness. Very strong flavour.
3.7 Bottle courtesy of and shared with friends. Poured a a murky deep mahogany with a thin broken white head. The aroma is rich smoke and hop medicinal liqourice. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a smoky dry alcoholic palate. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Finish is herbal, roast, coffee. Lingering fruits (red and dark berries). Medium body, sticky mouthfeel, weak carbonation.
2.1 At Voodoo release. Poured brown with min head. Ok aroma with light scotch. Taste unbearable chemically. Ok palate. Scotch aged no good.
3.0 Aroma of paint thinner. Pours a cola color. Taste is extremely peaty. Chemical taste.
3.3 shared by VT, thanks bro. pours dark brown, red tint, with a small light beige head, some retention. iodine, burnt caramel, bold and disturbing peat, booze, red fruitiness, leathery notes, sweetness. moderate to low carbonation, medium body - oily but not that heavy, peaty-peppery slightly harsh finish. ok but a bit harsh in a smokehead kind of way.
3.9 330ml bottle. Pours pitch black color with a tight, creamy one finger tan head that has nice retention and falls to a thin cap.Thick, peaty, scotch aromas on top of roast, chocolate and lots of malt. Taste is big and complex with lots of smoke, peat, mesquite, campfire and whiskey, along with hints of chocolate, molasses, and vanilla. Thick, oily and chewy with very low carbonation.
3.7 Smells and tastes like a pile of smoke. Dark black pour from a 12oz bottle. An ok beer. Would have again
4.0 Bottle @ home. Profumo intensamente affumicato e torbato.
4.0 Got it in a bottle. Pitch black color with not much of a head. Aroma is full of whiskey, peat, and smoke. Same for the taste. Beer is nice and balanced.
4.6 Bottle. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is whiskey, peat, coffee, smoked, roasted malt. Flavour is whiskey, peat, coffee, smoked, roasted malt, chocolate. Full body. Balanced powerful nice beer.
3.5 Bouteille 11,2oz (batch 015).
3.2 Consumer alongside islay cask scotch Dark brown to black one finger head Huge peat with a brisket stew nose. Nice blend of smoke, soy sauce / teriyaki with a hint of chocolate. Not very complex. Still, an interesting beer
4.0 Bottle to snifter. Best by 9/8/10. Consumed 5/12/13. Pours an opaque dark brown with a fluffy, bubbly beige head. Aroma is smoke, peat, chocolate, dark fruit, spicy, soy. Taste is camp fire, char, soy, barbecue, wood, molasses. Lots of smoke. Beautiful, dense lacing. Medium low carbonation. Rich, thick mouth feel. I really dig this. Not as aggressive as I had expected; some nice subtle elements here. highly flavorful and fragrant. Really nice.
