BrewDog Punk AF / Alcohol Free

BrewDog Punk AF / Alcohol Free

No alcohol just got Punked up. And Punk AF lives up to its billing. All the attitude, all the flavour but none of the alcohol. Say hello to the Punkest alcohol free beer in town. Juicy tropical fruit mixes it up with grassy and pine notes. All sitting on a solid malt bassline. Full flavour, no alcohol, all Punk.

1.9 On tap at Brewdog Lothian Road, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted earthy grains, light hops, and some spiciness. Flavour is grainy, with very gentle earthy hops and watery grains. I don’t see the point of this. There’s real nothing good here. Lame.
3.0 Hop aroma, citrus, no signs of AD. the taste is clean but watery, some mineral water, light malt, hints of fruity hops, pleasant bitterness. An excellent sample of non-alcoholic beer.
1.0 Can 33 cl. Comes as “Punk IPA Alcohol Free”. Pours an almost clear golden with a small, white head. Odd aroma that is a mix of sewage and chemicals. Watery body, faint citrus and more sewage. Absolutely no bitterness. Pretty horrid. 160722
1.7 pours pale yellow with minimal white head. vegetabley, hops, malt, not very pleasant. Medium carbonation. The vegetable flavours was really prominent. Couldn't finish it.
2.0 How: Can. Where: Stora Skuggan, Stockholm. Appearance: Golden colour with a white head. Aroma: Malt, citrus, lime, grass. Body: Light body, medium carbonation. Flavour: Malt, citrus, some hops.
3.1 Can. Pours golden clear with medium head. Aroma is tropical fruits, resin, malts, citrus, pine, light carrot. Taste is citrus, tropical fruits, malty, some resin, grapefruit, watery. Nice brew!
2.9 Can 330 ml at ABV 0.5 % from Gorillas. Pours clear golden body with white head. Taste is bitter with malt, citrus and tropical fruit. A bit weak on the aroma but otherwise quite good for AF.
2.9 Alone at home. Blond colored beer with small white head and medium carbonation. Hopped aroma. Medium slight sparkling palate. Finish is wattery bit bitter sweet dry.
3.2 Bière sans alcool. Goût très plat et assez léger. Mais on garde une ligne de bière très aromatique avec les houblons. Une bonne surprise pour une bière sans alcool. A consommer sans modération.
2.3 330 ml can, from Coop Mega Madla Handelslag. ABV is 0.5%. Very pale and nearly clear straw colour, small white head. Aroma of flowers and tropical fruits, hints of peaches. Some malts and baby porridge in the background. Thin mouthfeel as expected. Citric flavour, some grainy notes, low bitterness. Drinkable, but not much "Punk" about this one.
3.0 The aroma is malty, fruity, and hoppy with pine and hay. The appearance is pale straw with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with some bitterness. The palate is thin. Overall a nice IPA style NA beer. Nice!
2.8 Pours a clear pale gold colour with a small thin white head. The aroma is citrusy, oranges and light grapefruit. A moderately sweet taste, orange and grapefruit flavours and light hoppy bitterness. A bit thin and lacking depth of flavour.
2.8 12 ounce can from the brewery (OH) by mail order, 2/10/22. Hazy straw yellow, large fizzy white head, fair retention. Aroma of floral, green hops, pale malt. Taste is pine, citrus, pale malt. Thin, watery, moderate bitterness. Okay.
2.7 12oz CaN from 12/27/21 (made in Columbus) - nose is faint straw. Sip adds grass. Very weak flavor. Some bitterness. Very watery which for 20 calories makes sense. A downer to try after Elvis AF.
3.2 12oz can from Arrow - Mason, canned 12/27/21, drank from the can. Grapefruit, piney, spicy peppery hop dominates the flavor. Not much malt character, maybe some cracker. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, very little sweet, mostly dry. Light body, but pretty strong soft carbonation. Satisfying NA IPA to enjoy with my pizza for lunch.
3.9 Ljust lätt och enkelt med lite citrus. Gott!
2.8 Bottle of 33cl, in a Tulip glass; from the fridge. Drinked @home. We are inf front of a light golden with a light white head. Aroma and first taste are hoppy, malty and citrus. No aftertaste, very watery.
1.6 Light golden with minimal white head. Aroma of hops, malt and citrus. Light bitter with a hops and citrus end. Water
2.9 From can. Style: IPA. Aroma of floral hops, some grapefruit/citrus, malt. Golden beer with medium white head. Taste is lightly bittersweet, citrus fruits, pineapple notes. The body is very light, even more than most NA lagers. Easy drinking.
3.3 This one has it’s taste spot on. But it is watery, noticeably. Their other no abv beers are better. Albert heijn Amsterdam
2.3 Can from Systembolaget. Golden with a small white head. Some lemon, mild hops and notes of soap. Kind of drinkable for a no alcohol beer but not that interesting.
2.4 0,33l bottle from K-Supermarket Soukka. Clear golden beer with medium- white head. Crispy, malty, even bit fruity. Quite tasty for the low alcohol beer.
Citrus fruits and refreshing
2.8 Robe blonde dorée limpide, fine mousse blanche. Nez citron et légèrement floral, malt. Bouche légère, bonne amertume, corps très aqueux, gout de citron et de malt. Pas mal pour une bière sans alcool, mais ne vaut clairement pas sa version alcoolisée !
2.2 330ml can from Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Malaysia. Poured a crystal clear yellow straw colour with a short-lived frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is light citrus fruits, lemon lime. The flavour is light bitter, with a weak, watery, light citrus, light floral light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty light all round as expected, but it wasn’t far away from drinking water. I’ve tasted low alcohol beers with much more flavour than this, so it was really disappointing, especially when you read what was written on the can. Better beer? Well not this one!
2.6 Can at the Britannia, Marlow. I've been wanting to try this for a while as I love regular Punk and have a long-standing desire to find an alcohol-free beer that is as good as its regular counterpart. Bizarrely they served the already cold can with a glass of ice. I mean, who pours beer over ice? Having chucked the ice on the grass (fortunately we were in the garden!), I poured the beer. It's pale gold with a white head and a light fizz. The aroma and initial taste have captured the essence of Punk IPA, with pineapple, mango and grape juice. However, it's all much lighter than in the real thing and lacks the crisp bitter bite of pine to follow. In fact it's very, very thin and watery throughout. It's pleasant and drinkable enough, in fact it's one of the better alcohol free beers I've had. And unlike alcohol free versions of other beers you can very definitely tell it's derived from Punk IPA. But it still doesn't feel as good as even an average beer with alcohol, and is a mere shadow of the real Punk IPA. My search continues...
3.8 Can in Regent’s Park - cheers to Seb. Honestly it’s a really solid, drinkable beer. Very mild sweetness, nice clean bitterness, pithy grapefruit, light pine, suggestions of lean pale malts. Light bodied, average carbonation. Clean and dry in the finish. Drinks like a nice session IPA. Definitely one of the better low ABV beers I have tried. I could easily put back a few of these. Sound.
