It was only a matter of time before the original BrewDog got his paws in on the action. This egotistical young lab has decided to make a beer which best reflects himself.
This is the beer equivalent of the big, cute chocolate monster.
Soft, smooth, dark, chocolately and very strong. This gentle giant will never bite but would much rather give you a big lick on the face.

En nariz maltas torrefactas, café y chocolate, de fondo algo de alcohol. Cuerpo medio, sedosa y con buena espuma. En boca entra dulce a regaliz para terminar torrefacta y seca. Muy equilibrada. BB. 2020-05-26
8%ABV. Stout.
Poured out black and syrupy. 40ºSRM.
Nose has faint aroma of curing silicone, chinese medicine, liniment. Hints of charcoal and coffee.
Mouthfeel is carbonated and surprisingly light. Palate has charcoal, burnt twigs, blackened grain. There are fruity flavors of raisins, dates. Nice little hit of clean alcohol, you notice it more because it appears the same time on the palate as this straight vertical bitter front.
Finish is a little ashy.

330 ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with a light brown head. Intense aroma of roasted malts - black coffee, chocolate, caramel, liquorice. Full body with a soft mouthfeel and nearly no carbonation. Medium sweetness and a light bitterness. The flavor is smooth with caramel, coffee, ash, oak and some alcohol.
Flaska från SB. Svart med brunbeiget skum. Fyllig doft med välrostade toner av kaffe, kola, toffee och härliga bäriga inslag av körsbär. Även saltlakrits, salmiak och rökig chark. Medelstor, fyllig kropp. Ligger nära doften i smaken. En lätt men smakrik och fyllig IS.
Beer looks nice. Aroma: dried fruits in chocolate and alco, fermentation esters, dark bread and caramel malts, roast. Medium to full body, some alcohol, nice long lasting coffee finish. Good beer, maybe not well balanced and could be thicker but good.

Nice light brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel malts, minerals, grass, butterscotch, dark malts, licorice, sour coffee, raisins, alcohol. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish mineraly, weeds, dark sugar, grass, sour caramel, minerals, licorice, burnt sugar, sour coffee, butterscotch. Medium bitterness, slightly sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough.
Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Piana całkiem obfita, beżowa, ładnie oblepia szkło. Aromat czekolady, kawy, są też nuty palone. W smaku jest trochę rozczarowujące, niewiele się tu dzieje. Dość wytrawne, mało wyraziste, najwięcej jest nut kawowych i palonych. Spore wysycenie, goryczka niska i krótka. Przyjemnie się to pije, ale zostawia pewien niedosyt.
Bottle. Almost black, creamy foam. Burnt and roasted aroma,, coffee, chocolate, slightly floral hop, port wine, a hint of oak. Taste: wine, caramel, coffee, caramel, prunes, dried fruits and port wine, spirits, medium hop bitterness.
Sweet chocolate liqueur, creme brulee with some dried fruit on top. A hint of alcohol. Roasty, chocolaty and somewhat too bitter for the thinnish body. Solid, but not too smooth.

Completely dark body, medium to big sized tan head. Lots of cocoa and chocolate, some hoppy notes in the background. Taste begins with chocolate candy, turns to bitter kick with hints of alcohol and finishes with really long cocoa wonderfulness. Full body, soft carbonated. Really nice. //Bottle from Pivoteka
Svart med høyt lys brunt skum. Lukter mørk sjokolade, noe kakaopulver, svisker, noe trevirke, noe røkt lukt mener jeg å finne også, middels fylde. Salt lakris, pepperig, mørk sjokoladebitterhet, lett søtlighet mot svisker. Middels lang.

WYGLĄD: Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobna, średniej wysokości.
AROMAT: Mało intensywny. Ciemne słody. Delikatna paloność, zapach "skóry". W tle nuty kawowe.
SMAK: Wytrawne. Mocno kawowe. Brak jakiejkolwiek kontry. Alkohol dobrze ukryty. Goryczka wysoka, raczej krótka.
OGÓLNIE: Dość jednostajne i co tu dużo mówić nie zachwycające niczym szczególnym. Mało jest tutaj RIS’a w RIS’ie.
Perfekcyjnie uwarzony przeciętniak. Taka imperialna wersja guinnessa. Jest ok, ale dupska nic nie urywa.
Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is fresh, chocolate, coffee. Taste is espresso, dry coffee, some chocolate, quite bitter. Finish is espresso. Not excellent. Feels a bit too fresh.
Brunatne, gęsta, wysoka, beżowa, oblepiająca szkło piana. Zapach dość niewyraźny, ale da się wywąchać suszone owoce, paloność i czekoladę. W smaku trochę nietypowe - wytrawne, jest wyraźna kwaśność śliwkowo-cytrusowa i gorycz palono-pestkowa, a wszystkiemu towarzyszy kawowe tło. To czego brakuje to jakikolwiek słodki akcent dla balansu. Poza tym, piwo ma jakoś tak za mało ciała.
33cl bottle. Deep black colour with a thin beige head. Coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark and red fruits in the aroma. Average to soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is bitter with coffee and chocolate notes. Overall, lacks body and quite disappointing for an Imperial Stout but a nice drinkable beer.

Aroma: chocolate, cocoa, plums, cherry, sherry, sweet red wine.
Appearance: pitch black, non-transparent, nice tanned brown head.
Taste: definitely dry, lots of dark chocolate, a bit of coffee, touch of cherry notes, massive and short bitterness. It’s not a very rich taste, rather flat, straight to the point.
Palate: perfectly carbonated, pleasant, thin and poor body.
Overall: in overall it’s still damn good beer, but having in mind that’s imperial stout from Brew Dog, I was expecting so much more.
Bardzo dobry stout, bez zbędnych bajerów. Piana ładna, ale bardzo szybko opadła. W aromacie kawa, w smaku przede wszystkim gorzka czekolada. Bardzo ułożone, wytrawne, bez wielkich sensacji, bardzo dobre w swojej prostocie.
Kolor : Nieprzejrzyście czarny.
Piana:Beżowa, drobnoziarnista, średnio trwała i średnio gęsta.
Krążkowanie i osad na szkle jest także bardzo ubogi.
Kołnierzyk jednak nie zawodzi.
Zapach: Niczego nie urywa. Jest dość stylowo, ale bez większej głębi.
Mocna woń palonych ziaren kawy, czekolada oraz słodkie dodatki takie jak karmel i toffi. To w zasadzie wszystko.
Smak: RIS z gatunku tych wytrawnych. Słodkie nuty są tylko na początko. Nadchodzą z gorzką czekoladą i kakao.
Kolejnymi są minimalny karmel i dużo kawowej wytrawności. Posmaki palone na wysokim poziomie.
Alkohol także lekko wyczuwalny.
Finisz jest już wybitnie wytrawny z dużą dozą kwaskowatości oraz wysoką, bardzo długo utrzymującą się goryczką.
Smakowo zbliżone do porto.
Pełne i treściwe.
Wysycenie: Średnie.
Podsumowanie:
Osobiście średnio przypadł mi do gustu ten Imperialny Stout, ze względu na bardzo wytrawny charakter.
Brakowało mi tutaj wyraźnie słodyczy, a za dużo było paloności.
Alkohol też mógłby być lepiej ukryty.

Pours black liquid with light brown head. Roasted malt and coffee aroma. Slightly bitter expresso taste. Really nice stout.
330ml Flasche. Klar und schwarz. Mittelgrosse Schaumkrone. Starkes Schokoaroma. Malzig. Voller Körper. Leicht spritzig.
Po nalaniu tworzy się spora beżowa piana, która dość szybko opada do kożucha. Barwa ciemno brązowa, prawie czarna, nieprzejrzysta, z rubinowymi refleksami u dołu teku. Aromat bardzo przyjemny - z butelki głównie gorzka, wysokojakościowa czekolada, ze szkła dochodzi kawa, ciemne owoce i rum. W smaku wytrawne, prym wiedzie kawa espresso, kakao, whisky... Mało jest słodyczy, pojawia się za to nieco kwaskowatości od ciemnych słodów, rozgrzewający alkohol i dość wysoka, długa goryczka. Nagazowanie średnie, lekko za wysokie.
No nie jest to rodzaj RISa jaki lubię - zdecydowanie mało tu słodyczy, gęstości, oleistości, popiołowości, wanilii... Bardziej przypomina porządnego, wytrawnego FESa.

butelka, warka 26/05/20, na szybko: wszystko wlasciwie cacy, jest kawa, jest czekolada, sa ciemne owoce (choc malo, bardziej sliwki niz rodzynki)... nie ma chleba czy pumpernikla... jest niezle schowany alkohol (choc po ogrzaniu sie jakby delikutasny rozpuszczalnik gdzies w tle)... jest palonosc... ale w ustach ta palonosc strasznie zakwasza piwa, za mocno jak na moj gust. jest tez niezbyt duzo ciala, latwowypijalne piwo. szkoda, kwaskowatosci przegietej. zepsula.

Bottle. Very good stout - chocolate, roastiness with solid dose of hops in taste and to bitter it. Medium body, soft carbonation, very drinkable.
