3.7 How: Bottle Appearance: hazy orange, medium white head Aroma: Citrus, pine, caramel Palate: Light to medium body, average carbonation.
3.2 Tap @ Fermentoren, Aarhus. Hazy brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 060115
3.4 (Bottle 0.33 l / half of a bottle) Haze, untransparent, amber to brown colour. Brownish, thick small to medium sized and stable head. Light to medium body ,watery,a bit oily texture, soft carbonation. Aroma first is malty, light sweet with toasted notes of caramel malts, second is light hoppy with notes of grassy and herbal hops. Taste is moderate malty, toasted with light sweetness and very soft sourness. Finish is bitter and hoppy. Aftertaste is medium long, dry with long lasting bitterness. Quite good but drinkability of this beer is not to high.
3.3 Amber color, medium thick yellowish head, lacing, slowly falling. Malty sweet aroma, caramel, a bit of honey maybe brown sugar, slightly toasted. Medium to low carbonation, medium body, watery, bitter and toasted finish. Taste: malty, caramel, citrus hops, pleasant hoppy bitterness.
3.9 Tipica birra inglese, aroma caramellato, gusto luppolato deciso, spillata a pompa. Ottima.
3.0 Profumo ricco di note caramellate e tostate con sentori erbacei e fruttati dal gusto tipico di bitter in stile inglese, ricco di sentori erbacei e fruttati con una decisa base luppolata
2.9 Draft @ Terminal. Dark amber with small off white head. Notes of caramel, roasted malt, flavour is sweet, soft carbonation. Quite boring
3.2 330ml bottle from Bier-Deluxe Simple good ESB. Goes fine while playing texas hold em.
3.5 Spina @ superbirra. Marroncina con schiuma persistente. Amara, citrica, secca, beverina ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhold
3.6 33cl bottle @ home from De Molen. Hazy amber body, very big massive rocky fully lasting excellent lacing head. Nose is brown sugar, parfume, marshmallow, Aroma is tons of malt, medium chocolate, slightly roasty, steamed vegetables, later quite hoppy. Taste light to medium sweetness, medium bitterness, lightly sour, slightly acidic. Medium body, slightly sticky texture, soft carbonation, long lasting bitter finish. Refreshing, not too easy to drink, quite much like a land/kellerbier and brown ale mixture with much stronger hoppy flavor. Very interesting.
3.3 Bottle from Bier-Deluxe.de. Surprisingly dark amber color with medium off-white head. Aroma of dark malt, caramel, honey, citrus hops.Taste, dark malt, citrus, overlapped by strong hoppy bitterness. I miss a bit a malty base, but overall good.
3.0 @BeerPlanet: BB 14042014. Moyen.
3.1 Deep amber with a fluffy beige head. Flavour is well balanced cereal notes with honey and spice.
3.1 Draught at L’Angolo dei 33, Trento, Italy. Dark reddish amber with one finger of fine, creamy off white head. Very faint smell of roasted malts, taste is roasted malts again, light coffee, good final bitterness. Light carbonation, medium body.
3.2 Bona cervesa, es equilibrada i gustosa. Buena cerveza, es equilibrada y sabrosa.
2.8 33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Amsterdam Gusher. Aroma has ripe fruits, apricot and toffee. Also some hay. Flavour is odd with hops, toffee, mint and grapefruit. Finishes with herbal bitterness, gooseberry bush leaves and some alcohol. Too boozy, not good.
3.6 On draught. Maple syrup, red apple and granary bread crust in the aroma. Some nuttiness, cereal and maltiness come through in the flavour. Light hop bitterness produced. Smooth and very drinkable.
2.6 W aromacie estrowe, owocowe, trochę drażniące. W smaku wodniste, goryczka lagerowa plus estry owocowe. Nic specjalnego, choć da się wypić
3.1 Dinkel mørk brun farve med masse kremet lys beige skum. Lukt av malt, karamell, gjær. Smak av malt, karamell og gjær. Fruktig og mye karbonert. Vinmonopolet.
2.5 Duft av humle og malt. Mørk brun farge..mye hvitt skum. Smak av banan med en litt syrlig ettersmak
3.3 For the sake of conversation just the ratings. Can’t help but I just hate smartphones. Balanced ESB, which is surprise from this overrated brewery. Candy fudge.
3.5 Keg Half Pint at White Horse European Beer Festival 2012, Parsons Green, London in Aug 2012 - Very Dark Brown in colour. Very Malty; roasty malts, chocolate, caramel, coffee. Hoppy; good balancing rather earthy hop bitterness. Good malt/hop balance. Sweet bitter very roasty malty throughout. Rather unusual for an ESB. Liked this a lot. Very underrated. Nice beer!
3.0 Cloudy amber body with a small, short-lived head. Moderate to faint aroma of pale malts, yeast and traces of tobacco (or maybe my nose is a bit screwed up by the strong and weird aroma of the To Øl Snowball that I just had). The flavours are stronger, although not exactly complex. Caramel, fruits and yeasty notes that I find surprisingly Belgian (definitely screwed up by the Snowball). Smooth and creamy on the palate. A nice ESB. [25 cl from tap @ Nydalen Bryggeri og Spiseri, Oslo]
3.5 330ml bottle from Beermoth. Not quite sure what happened with the guys below, but my beer was completely fine. Pours chestnut brown, with a nice nuttiness, a slight sweetness with a touch of dark fruit. It is nice, but I don’t quite think these guys have the style nailed yet. ESB is a deceivingly difficult style to do well and this needs a bit more work.
2.5 Extreme gushing!!! I worked very hard to open them, I had never seen such a fountain of foam. Moreover: hazy amber color with dirty-white head. Sweet aroma: caramel, malts, bread, fruity. Semi sweet taste, with small bitterness and sourness. Notes of caramel, malts. yeasts some hops and fruits. Thin body with huge carbonation which disturb. Very sparkling. Something must have gone wrong in the brewery.
2.6 330 ml bottle from ArtigianBeer served (well, kinda) in a nonic pint glass. Heavy gusher alert!! Dark orange/lighr amber, quite hazy, with a huge and fluffy yellow-ish head which keep rising and rising. Aroma of burnt caramel, red berries, slightly roasted malts, light nuttiness and some cardboard as well. Very strange in the mouth, huge astringency, some sour notes. It gets better after a few minutes, with the caramel taste emerging, leaving a semi-sweet and roasty aftertaste. Way overcarbonated, and very thin body. Judging by some previous ratings (esp. Moscicki) I can see thare are quite a few off-bottles like this one. Clearly a mess.
3.7 Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, getreidig, Karamell, Citrus. Geschmack malzig bitter, Karamell, leicht schokoladig.
2.7 My first contact with this beer was really bad. I took it out from my cellar and opened it to face a spectacular gushing which resulted in half of a bottle gone around my kitchen and myself. The leftovers weren’t any good - in aroma there was a mixture of malty and caramel notes with some sourish background, I can’t really name however it was really disturbing. The taste was sour and sweet, the palate was thin, the carbonation was way overdone. I need to re-rate it at some point as perhaps my bottle was mishandled by retailers however I give it very low priority.
3.2 DWG; Pours hazy amber with a large frothy, lacing off-white to tan head. Nose is light roasted malty, caramell, fruity, nutty and spicy. Taste is bitter and lasting. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
2.4 Bottled. Cloudy amber brown. Hig head. Very grassy, vegetal, some caramel, minerals. Sweet malts, mineral, some grass and veggies. Probably off. Extremely highly carbonated. Medicinal and not good.
