3.6 Draught @ Randolph beer -Dumbo. Opaque dark brown with small frothy tan head, coffee-oak-grappa aroma, low carbonation, medium bitter dark chocolate-grappa taste with slight sourness and coffee beans, thin body, long finish. Strong, but well covered alcohol content; interesting brew.
3.6 Bottle 33cl, a dark beer with medium head. Nose is on dark coffee, dark chocolate and dark malt. Aroma is on dark chocolate, medium creamy, some old dark fruits touch, medium creamy body. Finish on espresso notes, some burnt malt notes.
4.4 Robe brune presque noire.
4.1 Couleur noir charbon opaque faible mousse beige crémeuse peu persistante .
3.1 Very sweet, very chocolate imperial stout. A little thin, without the dense mouthfeel you’d expect.
3.0 God kaffe og chokolade smag
3.8 Buona imperial, quasi nera schiuma minima, aroma di cioccolato fondente e caffè, al palato sempre malto tostato, caffè, molto beverina alcol nascosto
3.0 26.09.2014, tap sample @ Borefts: Small brown creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich, espresso, burnt caramel, lactose, chocolate, vanilla, dark malts, hay, hints of grassy chili. Taste is slightly dry and harsh roasted, burnt caramel, ashes, burnt coffee, lactose, grass, cocoa, unripe banana, bark, wood. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry slightly harsh mouthfeel. Nice aroma...
3.9 330ml bottle shared with Boiko at за разБИРАчи. Pours opaque with s thin, almost instantly settling beige mousse-like head, slight but persistent lacing but no visible rising carbonation. Dark brown - almost black in colour. On the nose, coffee, chocolate, caramel and toffee. In the mouth, light carbonation, mild bitterness, moderate alcohol presence - especially for the style, some sweetness but again - low for the style, flavours of molasses, coffee and bitter dark chocolate, slightly burnt caramel, some burnt sourness, with a fairly short, clean finish leaving a gentle sugary residue. Overall, despite its 23 Plato, this feels surprisingly light and refreshing, an Imperial Stout for all seasons.
3.0 Black with a moderately-sized, mocha-coloured head. Aroma is toast and freshly-ground coffee beans. Taste is plenty of coffee but it's quite boozy.
Smaak: geroosterde mout, koffie, zwarte chocolade, ietwat karamel, toffee. Volmondig. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: geroosterde moutbitterheid.
3.7 Aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, molasses, and light toasted malt. Taste is blackberry, chocolate, coffee, molasses and vanilla. Some late bitterness and alcohol burn.
3.8 Bottle. Strong coffee aroma with notes of roasted malt, chocolate and a hint of caramel. Pours Black with a thin toffee brown head that has some retention and lacing. Starts with roasted malt and chocolate flavors as well as a hint of caramel. Finishes smooth and a bit dry with strong coffee and dark chocolate flavors that linger on the palate after each sip. Pretty nice stout, but I’m not sure where the spaghetti is.
3.7 On tap at Row 34 in Boston. Pours black with a thin light brown head. Aroma is toasty and toffee and a hint of noodle grains. Flavour is nicely thin but coffee and roasted flavours. Finish is grapes and roasted bitterness.
3.8 Really strong beer, really alcoholic, beautiful hints of coffee and cacoa. Nevertheless, it can reveal an excessive bitterness during the whole degustation. Maybe too bitter, but very good aromatic hints.
3.3 Bought at Liquor Shed. Pours black, an inch of tan foam, great lacing. Smells of coffee grounds, bitter chocolate, very slight sweetness. Coffee grounds, milky chocolate, dark chocolate bitterness, some sweet notes, roasted malt, again adding to the bitterness. Spaghetti? Where? Medium body, medium to medium light carbonation. Best by November 30th 2019, L171108 batch number and packaging date. Quite unusual to my palate. Alcohol is noticeable but I do like this.
4.4 General appearance of liquor, almost black brown-ish color, very opaque, and no head after the initial pour. Aromas of coffee, cocoa beans and some vanilla and hazelnut. Each sip is a battle against its dense oat-reinforced body, but it's filled with intense flavor of coffee and chocolate, sweet and bitter at the same time. Also strong alcohol presence that fits fairly well, with a roasted, caramelized malt aftertaste. Awesome!
3.2 Appearance: black, clear, brown foam, rocky head. Aroma: toast, coffee, raisin, dark bread. Taste: medium sweet, very bitter, medium sourness. Palate: creamy, medium body, average carbonation, bitter, long finish,
3.8 Piana drobna, powoli opada. Kolor Czarny. Aromat kawa czekolada, kakao, lekka popielniczka. Smak podobnie, sporo czekolady, kawy espresso, palone nuty kwaskowe, łodygowe-chmielowe, popiół. całość przyjemnie się pije, nic wybitnego. Bardzo Dobre
3.4 11.2oz bottle from Windsor Hy-Vee, in a Sam Smith pint glass. Powerful aroma of dark roast coffee with some caramel and hints of brown sugar and vanilla. Pours campfire coffeepot black with traces of effervescence on the bottom and a little ring of foam around the edge. Mild coffee roast right up front followed by a nice light chocolate semi-sweetness, with the coffee roast reasserting itself for a lightly sweet, roasty finish. Surprisingly light and easy to drink in spite of several warning flags suggesting the opposite. Light- to medium-bodied with more than adequate carbonation and a very light mouth-coating sweetness. A satisfying brew. Based on the look and smell of it, I expected it to be flat and over-roasty but neither one proved to be the case. Not as complex as I might have liked, and I'm a little disappointed the spaghetti didn't assert more of an influence, even if I feel silly saying those words. Very good anyway. Thanks Brewfist & PAA!
4.0 Bottiglia 33 cl avec une belle étiquette "western". Liquide noir, huileux, petite mousse brune. Buono.
3.7 Draft at The Alehouse, Zurich. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee. Taste is roasted malt, coffee, oak, booze. Very good.
3.5 11.2 oz. bottle. Gift from my son Shane. Poured black with a foamy tan head. Aroma of cocoa, coffee, vanilla. Taste was bittersweet, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, vanilla.
3.8 Pours black with a thin head that quickly disappears, Aroma is coffee and chocolate, in that order. Taste is dark chocolate, giving way to espresso. Finish is creamy coffee. A very good straightforward chocolate/coffee stout. Very drinkable.
3.6 This Brewfist/Prairie collaboration doesn't have a lot of alcohol (for a modern Imperial Stout) but it makes up for it in attitude. Spaghetti Western pours black and has a lovely burnt cream head. This brew has notes of charred grain, bitter chocolate, dark roast coffee, tobacco, and woody booze barrel on the nose and palate alike. This isn't one for hedonists - it's rather bitter. Still, it's a great balance with a rich, full-bodied feel. Overall, very nice.
