Abounds with Imported English Goldings hops at a weight of one pound per barrel. It has the assertiveness, aroma and unbanished flavor beer used to have before the cost-cutters started.

3.8Mouthfeel is soothing and flowing, flavor is delicious caramel, malt, and lots of hop sting. Aftertaste is all hops. Aroma is sweet and bready. Really good. Bottle from Whole Foods, Nashville.
3.2bottled, clear light amber pour with small tan head, aroma of toasted bread malt with spicy/grassy hops with very faint almost skunky aroma, tastes of toasted bread up front with hints of floral hops, with clean residual yeasty bread on palate, medium body/medium carbonation
3.1bottle thanks to swalden28. poured amberish orange with a white head. aroma and flavor were both dominated by malt. mediumish body with high carbonation.
3.2on tap at brdigeport ale house in portland. decently crisp on the taste, it did not suffer from blandness so common to other ESBs
3.4Golden orange in color with a nice light gentle head. Plenty of hops here. Tastes bitter and clean. Slight tart taste especially on the finish.
3.4Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a dark amber color with a medium thin and creamy bone white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Mild hops and earthy malt in the nose. Medium, smooth body with flavors of resiny hops, earthy malt and fruit. The finish is biscuity malt with a touch of floral hops left behind. Decent overall.
3.3Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with beige head. Aroma of subtle caramel, malt and a low profile hop spice. Flavor has a nice, smooth malt backbone blended in with notes of caramel, light sweetness, signs of toffee, low fruity esters and a smooth low profile spiciness in the finish. Mouth feel is medium body with high carbonation, Overall, this is a nice, relaxing drinking beer. Not bad at all. I enjoyed.
3.212 oz bottle from John’s - Not much in the way of aroma, but what is there is pleasant enough. Pale, clear, hazy, minimal head, white foam. Light body, thin feel, average carbonation, long finish. This is a decent beer overall. I may need to have another before deciding on getting a full keg of it. It grows on you after a few sips.
3.5Hazy orange, frothy beige head fades. Aroma of caramel, floral and slight bitter hops. Taste is a good balance between caramel and bitter hops. Finish is short-lived bitterness and citrus. Medium light body, smooth carbonation.

3.312oz bottle. dark copper pour with a thin off-white head and no lacing. muted nutty aroma with light hops. sweet caramel taste up front gives way to a light hop bitterness. medium texture. clean slightly dry finish.
3.4Bottle. Poured a mostly clear copper, with a small white head. Aroma of toasted malt, earthy hops. Taste is malty, bready, toastey, faint spice, and plenty of earthy hops. Mouth is medium bodied. Finish is mildly bitter. Overall, a decent esp. Would order if I saw it on tap.
3.0This one reminds more of a Brit esb, being bitter and less hoppy than some American takes on the style. That said it’s none too distinctive but can certainly be sessionable.
3.7Pours yellowish orange with a thin beige head. Aroma is musty malt, and a bit of earthy hop. Flavor is earthy hops and malt, a bit of breadiness, and a bit of fruitiness.
3.4Hazy amber with a quick head. Earthy malt aroma. Caramel malt flavors with a nice hop bitterness in the end. Sweet yet well balanced. Finishes dry with some lingering bitterness.
3.1Cask at the Bridgeport Brewery.
Faint aroma of dark fruit and caramel malt. Tart flavor, with cherry and light hops, mostly bittering hops. Cask version was rather dead. Here again, the keg version was much better, but this is the one that got rated.
3.66 pack from the local grocery. Pours a clear copper color with an inch of pure white foam. Aroma of biscuit and caramel malts, some light citrus fruit and some earthy hop bite. Flavor is a nice blend of flavorful malts and citrus/earth hops. One of the better ESBs I’ve had, especially at a pretty low price point.
3.7Thin head on a copper pour. Well balanced malt and hops. Medium mouthfeel and a nice lingering, but not overwhelming bitterness.
3.912 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, mahogany-hued body with a full inch of off-white head.
Smell: Sufficient ESB nose with notes of caramel and softly toasted biscuit-like malts with some hints of fruit, including citrus, as well as some spicy, zesty English hops.
Taste: Biscuity malts with a slightly caramel-coated sweetness to it. Small hint of lemony citrus fruitiness as well as a few select drops of apricot juice. Largely spicy hops with a zip of clean bitterness. Undertones of grains come through on the back end. Drying, spicy, lightly citrus-laden finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A solid, smooth, easy-drinking, fairly enjoyable ESB from BridgePort.
3.5Pours light copper with a thin head.
Aroma is dusty malt, biscuity caramel and apple fruitiness.
Flavour is biscuity malt and caramel sweetness well balanced by a subtle low bitterness that builds in a fizzy finish.. . A hint of fruit like alc left in the aftertaste.
3.0Cloudy copper pour, low head, some lacing. Bittersweet musty smell. Thick somewhat fizzy, sweey and hoppy, tastes like an IPA. Some raisins/dates, a fizzy alcoholic brew. Sort of strange musty flavor, reminds me of rotting fruit? Not as bad as that sounds.
3.1amber color with limited time only white lacy head. very grainy. yeasty flavors, some carmel and some floral notes. not a huge fan of the style but this was aight. moderately bitter and a bit heavy on the carbonation.
3.1This was a quite passive ESB. Malty for the style with minimal hops. Not as lively as other ESBs. Solid for what it is
4.0Bottle. Poured a dark amber color with a two finger white head. Aroma was malts and some sweet hops. Flavor was kind of citrus with floral hops. Some bitters in the aftertaste. Very well balanced. Great beer.
2.6Reddish/orange pour. Plenty of live yeast present. Aroma is more malty than anything. Taste is not bad. Much better than Fullers or other established ESB’s. Malty flavor, little on the finish.
2.8This ESB is smoother than it is bitter. A little sweet with malty notes. Much better bitters out there.
3.4Orangish copper color with a small white head. Slightly hoppy and fruity smell with a little caramel. Taste is hops and slightly bitter in a nice way.
3.3Some what typical of the ESB style. Pours a very golden clear with a thin white head. Aroma is somewhat fruity and crisp. Flavor is light, with notes of hops and underlying malt. Clean finish with little lingering bitterness. A bit on the low side for an ESB, but a decent beer nonetheless.
3.3Pour is a deep golden with a small white head. Aroma of malt with some sweetness mixed in. decent hop taste with a clean finish.
3.8Pours very golden colored with a white head. Taste is wonderful of rich hops but not to much. I give this one an A+, a wonderful brew from the Bridgeport brewing company.
