Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

3.3 Fruity, very sweet. Slightly dry and low carbonation. Another nice brew from Brooklyn.
3.7 Bottle shared, aroma of citrus, sweetness, fruitiness, earthy notes, hay, biscuits, malts. Medium body, quite hoppy, average carbonation. Sorachi is well present here, great stuff.
3.5 35,5cl Bottle @ Beer Republic, Breda, Netherlands. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is yeast, white wine, citrus, malt, spices. Taste follows the aroma. Medium body, average carbonation.
2.9 Golden farmhouse, low carbonation. Funky. Not my favorite. Not very balanced.
3.2 Surprising ‘funk on lemon’ on arrival! An interesting Saison treatment near ipa strengths! Not top of my list, but I’m not a Belgian guy. Sorry.
4.2 Aroma: citrus, berries, yeast and bit os grass Taste: dried fruits, malt, notes of caramel and floral hops. Very good saison
3.4 Tasted this in the Innis & Gunn Beer Kitchen on the 7th January 2019. Keg dispense, 1/3 pint sampled. Opaque straw in colour with a thin white head. Strong citrus hop and lemongrass in the long aroma. Thin resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Mixed malts give a light digestive biscuit backbone with strong citrus fruit notes of lemon, lime, kiwi and gooseberry. Strong citrus hops give a dusty light astringency to the bitter aftertaste. Finish is hoppy with strong fruit present, leading with grapefruit, lemon, lime and notes of light pine. An interesting Saison, light in body and complexity with a high ABV going practically unnoticed.
3.8 Very unusual aromas and palate similar to Merlot wine, very pleasing and very unique
3.7 I've never been a fan of Sorachi Ace, so this is a bit of a gamble. Bottle from Head of Steam, Leicester. Light gold, clear with a puddly uneven head. Yeasty and spicy aroma with the weird peppery lemony sourness of the namesake hop, but it works well with the sweet breadiness of the yeast. Mostly sweet taste with citrus, sourdough, apricot, white pepper. Some light hoppy bitterness in the back of the tongue for the finish. Perfect amount of carbonation lifts the body. This is actually really good. One of the better Brooklyn beers I've had.
|No takie piwko za 9 zł. Kierwa. To jest Saison? Mózg rozjebany.
4.1 Bottle. Spicy saison yeast aroma with notes of lemon, white wine, grainy malt and herbal hops. Pours cloudy, pale golden colored with a thin white head that has decent retention and some lacing. Starts with spicy saison yeast, white wine and lemony citrus flavors. Finishes quite dry, but crisp and refreshing with grainy malt and herbal hop flavors that lead to a surprisingly clean finish. Nice saison.
2.8 Bottle, 355ml. A densely cloudy orange coloured pour with no head. Looks like a hefe. Aroma of fresh orange with a little spice. Flavour is bitter with soft citrus and a malty, slightly herbal citric finish. Not much going on here.
3.3 Bottle at a tasting with Cuso and MisoW. Shitloads of sorachi coconut dill character all over the place. Med-med-high bitterness, moderate sweetness, med-full body, med-light carbo. Slightly over the top with sorachi, but otherwise fine.
3.8 Bottle from Drinkshop.. Hazy golden color with medium white head. Saisony aroma with some fruits, spices, funk. Taste, malt, spices, yeast, light spices. Very good.
3.2 Bottle shared by cuso, thanks. Pours bit hazy golden color, white head. Aroma of lemon and dill. Taste is medium sweet, citrusy, dill, lemon, malty.
3.6 Bottle. Malty and hoppy aroma, light citrus fruit, spicy notes. Tastes the same as aroma, light to medium bitter. Medium body, malty spicy bitter finish. Ok.
4.2 Poured from bottle AROMA - vanilla cake APPEARANCE - cloudy gold, lacing. TASTE - vanilla, hops, bread, citrus, spice PALATE- smooth and tasty OVERALL - I would buy again.
3.5 Bottle and draft samples from combined notes. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have hay, pale grainy malts, lemon citrus, herbal, lightly spicy, interesting beer.
2.2 Bottle (BB Apr 11, 2019). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately yeasty (basement), with notes of sawdust, varnish, concrete, plastic. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Not good at all...icky phenolic/chemical nose and sour in a bad way with a dirty aftertaste. Drain pour caliber.
3.3 Found from bottle from variety pack. Pours a hazy yellow with a light lemon/grapefruit aroma. It is a bit sourer and more notes of grapefruit than I was expected, it is decent for the style and will most likely drink again.
3.2 Rami Rami is drinking a Brooklyn Sorachi Ace by Brooklyn Brewery at Powiśle Koperkowo-cytrynowo-przyprawowe, kwaskowate, wytrzawne, rzeskie. Tnx Pani Halina ;)
4.4 One of the best beers I have had in a long time. Really different hop aromas on the nose. Beautiful balance of malt and hop, sweetness and bitterness on the palate. Creamy, fruity flavors. Beautiful stuff!
4.0 Bought a loose one in the bargain cart at the HT. At first I wasn't sure I liked it, by the end I wanted more, like meeting my wife. Very good Saison. Just try this if you like this style of beer.
3.5 Gezapft am Flughafen - New York, JFK. Leicht trüb, Gold-Gelb, kein schaum. Aroma: Malz, Grasig, Zitrone. Geschmack: Gewürze, Grapefruit, Zitrone, dann etwas süßer (Mandarine).
3.6 Brooklyn brewery. Named after the Japanese hop. Cloudy appearance. Cilantro and orange taste. Not too hoppy. Smooth and easy to drink. Very good Ian
3.7 Hazy light golden with a thick white head. Lovely interesting aroma that’s grainy and herbal with notes of fennel and lemon. Crisp flavor that’s pale and herbal with those same notes of faint lemon and fennel that were on the nose. Herbal and unique and grassy and estery.
