Brooklyn Summer Ale

Brooklyn Summer Ale

Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition.

FOOD PAIRING
Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch.

3.1 Average macro looking yellow pour with somewhat DOA head. Has a pleasant fruity aroma with some light malts in the background. Fresh, crisp and refreshing. This has a bright flavor that really quenches the toughest thirst. Summer ale is the perfect category for this. Great for lawn mowing, sitting on the patio or laying on the beach. Very, very nice. I really like the offerings from this brewer. A lot! Can.
2.3 Found out of bottle from a friend. Pours a light cold with airy white foam. Light aroma. Below average for the style but decent on a very hot day.
3.0 Crisp, light, fruit driven summer ale. Some Pilsner and wheat malt flavours come in at the tail end. Definitely a beer I can see getting smashed during those hot summer days in New York on a rooftop in Brooklyn looking out across the river to Manhattan.
2.3 This is indeed a light beer, at least in Brooklyn Brewery standard. Good for summer where people can drink more to quench thirst. Maybe a good alternative to orange infused water? Nose: Light citrus such as orange and lemon, a tiny bit of maltiness. Taste: Same as nose, little to no hops, quite refreshing. Finish: short, and makes you want to drink more!
2.8 Can from Beer52. BBE July 2021; Drank Sept 2020 - Light gold. Small white head. Bready malts, caramel. Citrus fruity, orange and lemon. Lightly hoppy, floral, grassy. Lightly spicy. Sweet malty citrus fruity floral hoppy. Drinkable. Ok. (2020-09)
2.8 Beer 52. Typical USA, light & weak.
3.0 Had at home in Sept 2020, 330ml can an ok ale.
2.7 Can, from Beer52. Gold, thin and short lived white head and moderate condition. Gentle sweet grain and a berry fruitiness in the nose, quite soft and thin in the mouth with a muted grainy fruitiness and low bitterness. Finish is brief and slight, with a muted fruitiness lingering.
2.8 Bottle bought in France, pouring crystal clear golden pour, with a small white head, not retaining too well. Aroma is soft and malty, even biscuity, with a faint sweet fruity sense. Taste is dry and a bit non-descript. Which makes it an undefined lager type of beer, with a summery element indeed. Pity; hoped for more...
3.4 Can from local Yamaya store. Nose of citrus and some pine. Pale straw color, clear as can be, with light carbonation rising. Mild bready initial flavors, some minerally note, and then it fades out fairly quickly. Smooth on the palate. Summery, indeed. An ale equivalent of a pale lager.
3.4 Small head, golden appearance. Aroma of hay and grass. Taste of grape, bur vanishing rapidly.
2.7 Can 355ml. Clear, straw-colored. White head. Looks like an industrial lager... Taste is cautiously hoppy while heavier on the malts, sweet and candy-like. Aroma is biscuity. Not a memorable brew - at this abv they could have made something more powerful.
3.3 Keg at the Bishops Arms Östersund. Light west coast hop aroma. Easy going light ale.
3.1 Ljusgul med tunt vitt skum. Doftar fruktigt, lite malt. Smaken fyllig, lite besk och söt. Eftersmaken hyggligt lång med lite beska och sötma.
2.0 Flat and watery
3.3 Pours a golden colour beer with a white frothy head Notes of citrus fruits and berries fruits fresh fruits
3.9 Golden in colour. Very clean and clear looking. Smells fruity and hoppy. Taste is hoppy, summertime, flowery and slightly sweet. Easy drink for a hot summers day.
3.5 Can of beer costing 79p from Home Bargains. Very tasty can of knockout juice that goes down an absolute treat. Smile at least, you can't say no to the beauty and the beast.
3.9 Enjoyable summer beer
3.0 Pleasant enough but a little bland. Easy drinking
2.9 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have pale and grainy malts, bready, light citrus and floral notes, soft summer beer.
3.3 It pours golden clear with a white head. Head retention is very good. It is grainy sweet with some citrus and low lemon. It is grainy sweet in the flavor with some lemon and citrus in the background with a slight herbal quality. It is medium light bodied. Overall, an easy drinking beer with summer flavors.
3.1 355ml can. Clear golden, small white head. Aroma is floral, light fruits. Taste of light citrus, floral, grassy, minerally, malts. Light body.
2.6 Pint cuckfield. 5% on the label. Refreshing certainly but a bit iron-y, especially aroma wise. As expected, not great.
3.4 Flaske. Pilsnergul øl med lille skumhoved. Frisk duft let frugtsyre i duften. Ikke en fejl i øllen. Denne lette syrlighed er der også i smagen hvilket gør den let og frisk. Fin øl.
2.8 Bottle. Clear yellow/gold with a white and light head. Straw, grass, malt - a trip to the field. Light malt sweetness and citrus freshness finish with a decent bitterness.
3.4 Can. Bready malt aroma with notes of cereal, honey and some grassy hops. Pours clear, pale golden colored with a thin white head that has excellent retention and some lacing. Starts with bready and cereal malt flavors. Finishes dry but smooth with honey and grassy hop flavors. Nothing to write home about, but it is a solid, refreshing brew.
3.0 Bottle into tall tulip. Pale yellow with foamy head. Mild grassy aroma. Taste of grains, minimal hop. Light, easy drinking. Ok
4.1 Pour gold color. Smell of hops. Taste is subtle hops. Great beer to quench your thirst.
