Bruery Terreux Filmishmish

Bruery Terreux Filmishmish

Filmishmish, an Arabic term for “when the apricots bloom”, is a barrel aged sour blonde ale to which apricots have been added. The beer’s already fruity esters are enhanced by the hint of fresh apricot jam and wood shavings. Filmishmish is a well balanced beer, keeping the apricot and oak character present, but putting the flavor of the well formed sour ale at the forefront.

4.1 750 to tulip. Pours hazy orangeish/yellow with a dense stark white head. Aroma is tart fruit, white wine, oak, funk, apricot. Taste: apricot, must, sour. Palate: just a tad under-carbonated. Another great one from The Bruery.
3.8 Tap room - Tons of apricot and nectarine. Clearish yellow gold. Tart and lightly acidic apricot and nectarine. Nice and refreshing.
3.3 Cloudy orange juice with no head. Aroma is orange juice, sour summer fruits. Light bodied, quite sour and tart on the palate. Taste is apricot, nectarine, sour fruits.
4.1 2015 bomber - opaque pour with short lasting white head. Nose is fruity and tart. Taste is tart with a jammy punch of apricots. Fairly dry on the finish. Wood notes are present. Very nice.
4.7 Pour is a amber orange, vibrant and unfiltered looking. Light carbonation. Aroma is tart fruit, jammy and fresh cut wood. Taste is a huge sour bomb, drops right into you and punches your taste-buds. Apricots, woody, earthy, fresh flowers, big notes of honey. Long, dry, bitter and sour finish
4.5 Bottle shared at dbarnold’s, 10/31/15, Thanks Dave! This is an excellent beer that I truly enjoyed. Has a great mix of tart, fruity, and sour across the aroma and the taste. Just really nice. Funky and tart, while at the same time extremely refreshing. Really like this a ton, great apricot sour with a ton of flavor and a low enough ABV to be pretty damn drinkable. Felt like the apricot was the perfect fruit in this beer, just excellent. As good as the Home, Sour Home was, I think this was my favorite beer of the evening. Dave - Hook me up if / when this comes out next year!
4.0 Sampled at Great American Beer Festival 9/24/15. Aroma of sour notes, light fruity esters, oak, light vanilla and apricots. A nice, stone fruity sour flavor with a mild puckering feel. Nicely done overall.
4.3 750ml bottle of 2015 release. Pours a yellow amber color with a bit of head. Good apricot fruitiness that balances nicely against the medium tartness. Some apricot stone bitterness at the end.
3.6 750ml bottle pours a cloudy orange with a white head. very tart apricot and peach taste
4.1 750 ml bottle poured into a Bruery tulip. Bottled on 4/23/2015. Very hazy brownish orange with close to two fingers of off-white head. Aromas of funk, black pepper, stone fruit, oak. Tastes of stone fruit, tart acidic notes, light vinegar, black pepper, light herb and spices, light oak. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Very tasty.
3.6 The type of sour that matters... Yum apricots on the tongue and it tastes so good
4.0 Bottle via justin. Thanks! Nose is slightly sour with a strong fruitiness with a fleshy apricot note. Hazy orange with a white head that dirs quickly. Taste is puckering initially with a fuzzy apricot flavor. I imagine biting into a sour apricot as I drink this. Moderate to high sourness but not chest burning to the point of detracting from the beer and fruit. Solid A rank beer!
3.8 Tap. Color is clear gold with white head. Tart stone fruit and lemon aroma. Taste follows slightly sweet not to tart.
5.0 Had on tap at Bruery and then out of bottle into snifter. Better out of the bottle This just became my favorite Bruery sour. Apricot is the best apricot in a sour ever. Prefer over fou.
3.2 Cloudy orange with a frothy white foam. The foam dies quickly with no lacing. Sour oranges and apricot aroma is okay but nothing attractive. Initial mouthful is fruity, sour, and slightly tart in the finish. Best served cold as the flavors wane as the beer warms. This is a fair beer but not one of the most memorable ones.
3.9 I’m not as wild about this as most, but one excellent quality that this beer has in spades is balance. On the palate, the tartness finishes quickly and doesn’t linger. Nice fruit notes as well.
3.2 yet another fantastic bruery sour, lots of brandy notes and apricots. amazing as always.
4.2 Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly hazy yellow light orange apricot color with a fizzy off white head. Aroma is dry, sour, light apricots. Flavor is potently sour, stinging up front, apricots in the back end. Extremely delicious!
3.9 From notes. Tasted on 10/21/12 from a capped 750mL bottle, big thanks to Curtis for sharing. Pours cloudy pale orange with a thin white head that leaves a thin collar of lace. The nose is quite sour with some bread malt and plenty of fresh, ripe apricot. The flavor is not as intense as I expected given the nose, but instead a great balance of apricot, citrus sour, bread malt, and light vanilla oak. The body is light with some tannin, light carbonation, and a long sour apricot finish.
3.9 Poured from a 2014 vintage bottle. Aroma is super fruity with a nice citrus and acidic backbone. Light oak notes with hints of funk and tropical fruit. Overall, a ton of stone fruit. Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange with a large, somewhat thin, light tan head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers. Faint lacing and small legs. Flavor is fairly acidic with a ton of apricots and some other stone fruit. Nice light mustiness with light oak notes. Low bitterness. Hints of tropical fruit and moderate citrus. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a delicious apricot beer. Lacks some of the funkiness and Brett I would like to see, but lots of apricot character.
3.8 Pours light golden with a fading white head. Aroma of light sourness, tart fruit, peach, apricot, aok. Flavor is sourness, wood, sour tart fruit, apricot, peach, oak, light vinegar. Thin to medium body, average carbonation, light acidic finish. 271214
3.9 Bottle. Frothy White good mostly lasting head. Yelllow colour. Moderate malty and sout aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Strong sour notes. Average heavy bitter finish. Oily palate.

3.7 Location/Date:Bottle pour from Dave 10/11/2014. Appearance: Pours an orange cloud. Aroma: Aroma of apricot. Taste: Light medium sour, apricot. Palate:Medium body. Summary: Pretty good for the style, only had a few ounces as I can’t drink a lot of a sour.
4.1 "Pleasant beer throughout. Golden orange in color. Aroma mostly mild tartness with some light fruit and a little oak. Flavor well balanced and complex. Fruit present but not overdone. Kind of a session sour, but definitely well done!"
3.7 Sample at a bottle share. Comes a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma of fruit, funk, and wood. Taste is apricot, funk, spice, and oak. I didn’t think the apricot was overpowering. Nice.
