Bruery Terreux Saison Rue

Bruery Terreux Saison Rue

Saison Rue is an unfiltered, bottle conditioned, Belgian/French-style farmhouse ale. This is a beer of subtlety and complexity, with malted rye, spicy, fruity yeast notes, biscuit-like malt backbone and a slight citrus hop character. With age, this beer will dry out and will become more complex with rustic notes of leather and earth from the contribution of a wild yeast strain. Being a saison, Saison Rue is ambiguous unto itself as it is a different beer when fresh and when aged.

3.2 750ml bottle shared by Martin, thanks! The bottle exploded. Hazy amber pour, big white head. Nose is fruity, malty, mild sweetness, funk. Flavor is fizzy, malty, slightly fruity, hoppy notes. Really fizzy.
3.2 750ml bottle, thanks Martin, gusher. Pours hazy orange, big white head. Aroma is tart, fruity, funky, citrussy. Taste is floral, earthy, farmhouse, dung, bit herbal. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Bit oily texture. Overcarbonated, but overally ok saison.
3.7 Bomber from Highland 8-25-16
3.7 Bottle, 750 ml, from Beergium. Shared with rest of the crew. Dark hazy golden, large white head. Starts with metallic aroma which disappears afterwards. Spicy, light sweetness, malty, fruity, nice funkiness, dry finish. Medium sourness. Too much carbonation. Medium bodied.
3.5 Aroma is malty with slight lemon, bread and spices. Taste develops over time in the glass, but there's some cool stuff going on in here. Citrus, earthy notes, rye, coriander, funk - the whole shebang. The cool thing is though, if you want it to be bland its bland, if you want it to be complex, it is happy to oblige.
3.5 Bottle: Cloudy brown with a foamy white head. Spicy yeast aroma and vanilla with toast. Full bodied. Flavors of lemon-lime, fruit cake and nutmeg. Well made saison.
3.9 Bottle from systembolaget Golden amber, white head. Aroma of yeast, farm citrus. Taste sweet round, yeast. Hint of bitter bread. Alcoholic finish.
3.6 Uzupełnienie profilu notatki. Piana bialutka obfita, drobna, opadając zdobi szkło, pozostaje długo. Kolor złoty klar z pływającymi kłaczkami drożdży. Aromat słodowy, drożdżowy z lekkimi cytrusami, średnio przyjemny, ciężki. Smak słody, karmel, owoce i niewielka słodycz, miód, zioła, lekka ostrość przyprawowa, chmiel klasyczny i nowofalowy cytrusowy. Piwo złożone, wielowymiarowe, smaki grają, ale po tym browarze spodziewałem się petardy a dostałem "Bardzo dobre, ale zwykłe" piwo. Lekkie rozczarowanie
4.0 Amber with medium white head. Mildly sour fruity aroma. Medium fruity sourness with some balancing sweet on the soft bitter background.
3.1 Bottle from Whole Foods. Brown color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, earthy notes, yeast, a bit of hops, rye and toast. Bitter finish with citrus, earthy notes, rye, a bit of hops, rye and toast. Okay saison, a bit messy stuff.
3.4 Flowers, sweet biscuits, honey, earthy, alcohol. Light Amber colour, small cream head. Honey, sweet biscuits, floral, honey, earthy, alcohol. Medium body, small lively bubbles, sweet and lightly citrus finish. Light on yeast and very sweet for the style. Ok.
3.4 Bottled: A gusher. Dark orange with a small but thick head. Sourish gooseberry aroma. Sourish taste with notes of gooseberries, wheat, and hops leading to a warming alcohol finish.
4.4 A great tasty beer, i recommend this to beer lovers . Good for food and by it selfe . A winner
3.2 Al club de tast de l'Olut (Sabadell)... Aroma no gaire agradable (tipus farmhouse). Bon cos, molt consistent i equilibrat amb l'amargor.
3.6 Shared bottle @OlutSBD club de tast. Pours light orange with thick white head. Aroma and taste of yeast and herbs. Bitterish.
2.5 Shared bottle at Olut Sabadell. Yellow with white head. Yeast, rotten-like Brett aromas. Highly carbonated, oily.
3.4 Bottle at koht. Pours golden with whiteish head. Aroma is cinnamon, fruits, apricots. Flavor is sweet and bitter, sour, fruits, citrus, apricots, clove, cinnamon. Finish is sugary and dry. Overall: ok
3.7 Bottle @home. Pours orange/gold, slightly off-white head. Nose strawberry, malty, spices and sour, woody. Taste is more of the same, quite spicy, pepper, slight yeast.
3.6 25.4floz (750ml) bottle - 2016 year indicated, paid sale price $6, and poured the contents into a tulip glass. Appears an opaque deep golden color with a large amount of froth. Airspray best defines the aroma I detect, but it doesn’t taste as such. Instead the palate consists of white grape and light grains over a fizzy, full-body feel. In sum, this is a pretty good saison that is dry and on the upper end for alcohol content.
3.9 Shared bottle as Saison Rue at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy light amber with big white head. Aroma of herbs, flowers, perfume, spices, some funk. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Thin bodied, highly carbonated. Alcoholic warmth.
3.7 Amber/gold, slight haze with big head. Spicy, wild yeast aroma. Tart, with a dry, spicy finish. Nice.
3.6 Golden colour with tight foam head. Aroma has initial Bretty funk. Also light peppery yeast. Tastes very dry and Bretty. Some fruit sugars.
3.4 750 ml bottle thanks to an Untappd buddy. Thanks Matt M! 2016 vintage. Aroma is dusty yeast, citrus, rustic grain. The flavor has the earthy grain but it does "scream" rye at all. The citrus and yeast does show with a bone dry finish. Brett hasn’t added any funk, just turned the finish bery dry. Good but not really a repeat buy with so many others better in the style.
4.3 Smells really nice. Dry sour but with some definite fruit sweetness. Pours apricot/gold with a foamy bright white head. Leaves a white foamy layer on top and a shortlived film on the glass. Starts off fruity sweet but then hits with a pretty hard funky sour that then fades to a slight citrussy bitterness. Really interesting. Yeast. Fruit. Bread. Funk. Earth. Lots going on but really well balanced.
3.7 Very dry beer, with some tannic notes to it. A lot of funk, some spice, maybe even a hint of vanilla or something. Good.
3.5 Bottle Aroma-fruits, floral, apples, pears Appearance-golden, hazy, white foam, Taste-light sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, Palate-medium body, sticky, average carbonation, long finish, Overall-very good
3.5 Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma of apple marmelade, mild tart and white grape. Taste of tangy white grape, cider, aged malt and bretty horseblanket. Weird and nice.
4.4 2013 vintage. Aromas are ripe fruits & mild spice. Rich rye bread malts with soft pepper/coriander and light fruit notes on the palate; a lot of earthy yeast notes coming due to the age. Not as funky as I’d expect from the added brett. At 9.5% ABV, it’s an imperial Saison with huge flavors and no strong alcohol bite. Three years on this bottle did wonders. Incredibly drinkable and delicious on its own but is begging to be enjoyed with food.
3.5 Bottled, 25 cl sample. Hazy orange color, medium frothy head. Aroma of flowery hops, sweet candy but not the Bretty bubblegum i hoped for, bit sweet caramel. Soft flowery bitterness, bit dry, sweet candy. Ok, but expected a bit more from the wild yeast. It seemed more of a belgian strong ale now.
