3.2 Drunk from 75 cl bottle bought from delhaize. Strong belgian blonde triple beer.
3.0 Clear golden color, white head. Nose: grassy, hops, alcohol. Taste: malty, yeast (bit too aggressive), alcoholic. sweet surprisingly long finish. not a typical tripel, but very correct brew.
3.7 Nice tripel with a lively taste of fruits and grains. Had a floral yeastiness as well.
3.7 Dark golden slightly hazy appearance, strong head. Lovely malty aroma, overall very satisfying.
3.6 Bottle@tasting (2000), 30 cl. Head: fast shrinking white foam. Colour: hazy golden. Aroma: sugar, candy, malt, laurel. Taste: malt, some bitter, hops. Palate: mild, medium CO2, light bitter finish. Overall: this one was 3 years old, very nice.
3.8 Golden colour, high head foamy, sweet hoppy smell, sweet sour warm and hoppy medium carbonation
3.4 Goud, amberkleurig, licht troebel. Schuimkraag blijft lang intact. Fijn palet, maar weinig body. Licht aroma, smaak van fris fruit, noten en alcohol in de nasmaak. Zomers bier!
3.7 Bottle: I actually thought I had rated this one already, apparently I did, but didn’t add it here, yet. Hazy darker yellow light orange colored beer with a light airy but pretty vast and slow disappearing white head. Smell fruit, fruity yeasty and some light alcohol malty caramel tones. Some spicy hop and herby hints. Taste has a medium bitterness, some fruity spiced and light sweet tones. Sweet bitter light warming aftertaste. Low to medium carbo, soft tingly mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a light creamy texture.
3.3 Geelgouden kleur met witte kop die aardig blijft zitten. Drinkt in eerste instantie goed weg. Vleugje noten en hop. Vervolgens een citrus met alcohol nasmaak. Prima bier. Aldus Huubs.
2.7 Its good and strong but unfortunately may be allergic to something in the beer :( otherwise good
3.8 Bottle thanks to chudwick. Aroma is nutty, with some sweeter malts. Notes of dark fruit, raisens, some yeast, and a little bit of earthy. Palate is flat and thick (but it is 6 years old). Flavor is ultra nutty bringing out a walnut flavor. Complex.
4.4 bottle in a pint glass (label says to enjoy before 2004) - pours super cloudy orange/brown with no head. nose is caramel malts. aroma is candy, toffee, butterscotch and caramel. taste is sweet. I have never had a beer like this, ever - this is nutty old man candy and yes this is a good thing. Aftertaste is walnut with a long finish. I think I will go back to the store and buy them out.
4.7 Beautiful golden color on pouring. For best results try while visiting Brugges.
2.9 Bottle. A light sour-fruity smell, later on a little bit sweet-malty with cookies. The head is medium large, white and creamy with a normal duration. The body is golden. The taste is light sour and metallic, the finish is light bitter. The body is creamy, medium strong with a normal carbonation.
3.4 330 ml bottle at the Kulminator. Golden orange color, off white head. Aroma of orange peel and malt. Flavor of plums, malt and raisins. Oaky finish.
4.0 Bottled 75cl. It pours a beautiful amber beer with a tall, nicely remaining lightly tanned head. Lovely aroma with a lot of cork, pears, wood and green apples. Musty, complex and pleasant. Rather sour taste. Woody with hints of cork. Nicely balanced. Wonderful lacework. Plenty of character. The alcohol is very well hidden. Very clean. Dry woody finish with some cork and lemon sneaking in. I enjoyed it a lot. This Tripel reminds of a Gueuze.
3.2 33 cL bottle at Kulminator. Pours clear and golden deep orange with a dense white head. Caramel malty aroma with a mild spice note. Light yeasty phenolic and caramel malty with a with a mild spice, yet also a bit sign aged with a light oxidiation note. Ends mild yeasty and slight metallic. Still nice though.
3.9 Bottle. [thank you, Joris] Bottle is labeled De Gouden Boom, BBE: 19/12/05 Pours murky amber with a very impressive, staying, creamy, nearly white head. Bubbles away slowly. Heavy aroma, lots of cellar, but also toffee, plums, raisins, light cinnamon and yeast. Low carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Great flavour, very soft and subtle. Very light oxidation on top of a malty, vinious brew. Apples, a little chocolate, some plums, dry (hoppiness?) at the far end. Warming and still feels really fresh. Very complex combination of sweetness, viniousness and tart-like fruit. Very nice.
3.2 Thx for a grand tasting, Chris_o :)Dark amber, foffee, malt, overipe fruit, sweet and bitter.
3.6 Bottle @ Chris O’s tasting. Hazy deep amber with medium off white head. Sweet and slightly sour aroma with yeasty and fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, ripe fruits and yeasty notes.
3.7 What? Rated this more than 2 years ago. Have my rating been deleated? 33cl bottle. Golden/amber with a large egg white head. Lots of fruit & yeast with a lightly spiced undertone. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Very quaffable tripel from De Gouden Boom now owned by palm!
3.6 Bottle from Glen Imdownthepub, cheers for this one Glen, had this 29-03-08 Bottle dated BBE 06-09-03 so quite well aged. Pours amber in colour with some haze, some spice on the nose and yeast. The alcohol pushes through and whilst this feels quite soft in the mouth it also has a lot going on, some nice spiciness but also a dash of tropical fruits sits on a solid malty base, aroma has softened with age, and this beer goes down surprisingly weel with my fiery lamb curry, once again cheers Glen.
3.7 Draught in Brugse in tripel glass. Slightly hazy amber colour, big carbonation driving a medium off-white head and good lacing. Slight spice in the aroma. Lots of malt and more spice in the flavour. Enjoyable and the 9 ABV is well hidden.
3.3 on tap in Bruggs. Light amber color, mildly carbonated, small head. Mild tripel spiciness. nothing really memorable
3.1 Clear pale body, with a persistent off-white head and ample lacing. Aroma of bready malt, some yeastiness, quite citric and crisp. Breadiness in the aroma, very grainy, malt dominates. Some spiciness from malt and hop. High on CO2, yet with a surprisingly substantial mouthfeel. Enjoyable but, yet another cookiecutter tripel..

3.2 Bottle at the ’Half Moon’ along the in Ghent-Brugge Canal in Belgium, amber with a large pillowy white head. A sweet yeast and malt aroma. The palate is a little astringent with some sourness and a lot of alcohol.
3.3 White head on an amber body. A very good example of a Belgian Trippel. It has the bittersweet taste, the strong alcohol and all the pleasures associeted with it.
3.5 Bottle 33 cl. Amber coloured, with white head. Aroma light malt, fruity. Medium body. Taste yeast, sweet-bitter with strong alcoholic touches.
3.4 A Mes rate: 33cl bottle from Lowlander 2. Clear amberish colour with a chunky and fairly solid head (almost wortha 4) Aroma is slightly fruity with some toffee. Rather sweet in the flavour too and maybe just a little too much.Malty with a fair amount of spice. A little sticy in the palate which does it no favours.Fruity alcoholic finish. Nothing overly special.
