3.422oz. bomber, labeled Foreign Stout, with thanks to ogglethorp for the nice bonus. Pours a dirty looking dark brown with a huge and lasting sea foam dark tan head. Aroma is cocoa, chocolate, oats, earthy hops, and a little coffee. Flavor is more cocoa, chocolate, coffee, oats, and more subtle earthy hops and nuts. Not that I’ve had a bunch, but much like other foreign stouts, thanks again Brian!
2.5(bottle from beervirgin72). Black color. Huge tan head. Light coffee aroma. Light coffee and light alcohol flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.
3.8Donated by Buckeye Brewing to ALS Beer Dinner Benefit. The label is different now than the picture provided and I think is improved. Pours a nice black brown with strong coffee brown head. Musty, malty, toasted and slight coffee yumminess in both aroma and flavor. Smooth over the palate but not coating, a little bit of bite from the bitter coffee aftertaste.
3.4On tap @ Beer engine. Average creamy light brown good lacing head. Dark black body. Smells like smokey beach wood. Initial flavor is smokey, musty and finishes with coffee finish.
3.7On tap at The Beer Engine. Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head. The nose is roasted malt, ashy cocoa and light coffee. The taste is dark chocolate, ash, burnt malt and bitter coffee grounds in the finish. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Good stout.
3.5thick black appearance with tan head. moderate carbonation for style, wonderful roasty and sweet nose. some thickness to the moutfeel, but a lighter finish for the style. flavor has some bitterness initially followed by only mild malt sweetness, that could have added depth, some roastiness, but not overwhelming before a lot of floral hop flavor before a dry finish. a nice beer, a higher finisher gravity and some more sweetness and roasty flavors could have added some complexity and improved the beer
3.922 oz bomber, the label is in black and white and says "Mammoth Stout" with Foreign Stout below the name, not sure if it is the same brew or not. Beautiful pour, dark black with a booming tan head that lasts and leaves behind nice lacing on my glass. Aroma of oatmeal, milk, coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Nice bitter roasted coffee flavor. Good beer at a fair price.
3.6Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The smell is dark and roasty, cardboard, coffee, and chocolate. the look is brownish to black and has a beige colored head. The taste is malts, roasty, coffee, and chocolate.
3.4(22oz bottle) Pours a brown body with a medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, toffee, and cocoa. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, toasted oats and light coffee.
3.4Descent stout overall. Nice level of roast with a descent body. Some nice ticher malts are there but not too powerful. Enjoyable.
3.9650ml bottle
This has been sitting around for a while so I figured I would give it a chance. At $4.99 I had nothing to lose - Buckeye seems to price their bombers very well compared to many other companies. It deserves a little bump for being solid and affordable thus the high score.
Aroma / Appearance - The murky brownish/black body and thin tan head provide a medium for the black coffee, licorice, smoke, and cocoa that escape from the glass. Solid and creamy I like the way it presents itself.
Flavor / Palate - Smoke, black coffee, and dry toast smeared with Nutella fill the mouth. The strong roasted finish completes a solid well made beer. While there are several that are better none can compete on price with this.
3.4Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a dark brown/black with tan head. Aroma of dark roast and some cardboard. Flavor of dark roast, coffee, malt, dry. Mouth feel is medium-heavy body with light carbonation. Overall, pretty good!
3.5bottle, thanks to bu11zeye, black color with good standing tan foam, aroma of spicy burnt coffee, flavor of burnt coffee, nutmeg, a little fruit
3.5Bottle thanks to bu11zeye, labeled "Buckeye Mammoth Stout-Foreign Stout". Pours with a tan head and a black body. Aroma of cinnamon, chocolate, coffee, bread and raisins. Taste is coffee, light lactic, and bread. Light carbonation.
3.8BOMBER. Thanks to MikeTD, can’t wait to share a brew with this guy. Pours a black body with a cola tan head. Malty with a hint of licorice and some dry oats and a light caramel body. Hints of chocolate with a mild etoh warming. Hint of dry minerals and calcium with a light roast y bitterness. A well balanced stout and quite session able with a nice body and good flavor.
3.5This poured almost black with a big lgiht tan head. Aroma was pretty sweet and chocolatey for a stout. Flavor was silky and smooth chocolate, but a bit too sweet for me, not much roastyness to it at all.
3.7I was pretty happy wiht this beer. not sure why i always end up drinking stouts in the summer, but oh well
3.9Near black in colour with a thin tan head, light lacing. The aroma is fairly sweet, some milk chocolate, toffee, roasted coffee, burnt malts with some dark fruits. The flavour is quite roasty, mildly sweet, good amount of roasted coffee, some dark chocolate with just a bit of alcohol. Roasty mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, roasty with some milk chocolate sweetness.
Very nice. Good roast and an excellent mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.
650ml bottle obtained in a trade with miketd, thanks Mike.

2.6Bottle shared by Dak. Black and opaque with tight tan head. Metallic aroma is fully of lead. The flavors are similarly lead-laden and paltry. Unfortunately, not liking it.
1.7Somewhat dull and flat. Very dark brown colour. There’s sort of a burnt toffee note to this, but also some inappropriate phenols. It’s extra roasty and astringent with a hint of soy sauce. It’s big, but has little going for it. No real complexity, and the flavours and aromas do not correspond with any foreign stout I’ve ever had.
2.7Bottle. Black pour with a small tan head. Aroma is roasty as hell with some smoke, chocolate and an odd chemical note. Flavor is very thin, watery and way over roasted. This beer fails to come together. Overrated by far.
3.6In short: A dry and very roasted stout with a strong cacao presence and a good hopping. Nothing original but this is highly drinkable.
How: Bottle 22oz. Purchase when I visited the brewery, consumed when 8 months of age
The look: Almost black body topped by a large tan head
In long: Nose is lightly roasted with cacao notes and some locker room sweat (I get that sometimes from certain hops). The beer feels rather dry, almost chalky. Not fruity notes whatsoever. Short but sharp hops bitterness. The beer was maybe a little too roasted and chalky for its own good, like trying to swallow cacao powder, it felt like it was getting stuck in my throat. However the floury cacao flavour was rather pleasant and the bitter finish was nice. Strong hops presence that soften-up the beer with a mild juicy bitterness. Medium body with an expansive carbonation. Pleasant straightforward brew that does the basic things very well, a very good example of Keep It Simple Stupid. Cleveland area people are lucky to have that little brewery/brewpub in their backyard. A backyard in serious need of a groundkeeper I must add.
3.3Slightly let down with this one. Fairly watery and one dimensional. Aroma is great: lots of oat, chocolate, and roasted barley, however, not much of it comes through in the flavor. Just way too thin. No oatmeal or chocolate. Drinkable and OK, but nothing special.
3.8Bottle from miketd awhile back - thanks! Dark brown color with a big roasty, somewhat smoky nose. Flavor is big with lots of roasted malt, light coffee, and dark/bittersweet chocolate. Pretty good foreign stout.
3.7A bit of a chocolate phosphate. Hints of hops on the back end. Thin mouthfeel. Some smoke.
3.6Bottle Pours out a nice black topped with a tan head. Aroma of sweet roast and some light coffee. Tast of rich malts, bitter chocolate and some coffee. Not to bad.
3.6Bottle in trade from miketd. Thanks dude!
Pours dark black with a fizzy tan head. Smell is dry chalky chocolate roastiness and a bit of smokiness. Taste is dry and roasty with a bit of a jerky smokiness. Kind of tobaccoy as well. Bit fizzy carbonation, but not too bad. Medium bodied. Pretty tasty all around and a nice dry, yet flavorful stout.
3.3Bottle: Black with a large, fluffy beige head. Nose is sweet and roasty. Tastes heavy in the roasted malt with a bit of coffee and some tobacco notes. Some bitters. Nice lacing and a creamy feel. Thanks for the Buckeye brew from BuckeyeBoy!
3.8Bottle from Secret summer santa. Almost black and opague. Pours a huge head. Roast, coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma and flavor. Just a bit creamy mouthfeel. Cappuccino and ash in the aftertaste. Medium to full bodied, well balanced beer.
4.1Bomber. Pour is a thick and dark brown with about three fingers of tan head. Aromas are chocolate and burnt malt with a touch of whisky or anise and charcoal. Flavor is excellent… don’t get me wrong, if you want a big, huge, gigantic imperial stout with tons of alcoholic burn, this isn’t it. Still, it is full-flavored and well-balanced as all of the suspects who presented themselves in the nose are in their full glory in the flavor.
