3.0 This beer pours a pale golden color with a decent head of foam but is quickly gone. The taste isn’t bad but there’s just no girth to the beer. The taste is light obviously almost to a point where you can’t describe the taste. A much better beer than say MGD64, but no where good as other wheat beers like blue moon. It’s a nice change of pace, but will get old quickly.
2.8 Glad to see a Wheat beer from Bud. It has more favor than I expected it to have. I will try it again..
1.6 Everything in this beer is artificial and boring. Citrus resembling stale citrus. Coriander resembling stale coriander. However, it is easy-drinking and for AB makes a lot worse products than this one.
5.0 I’m still mad they discontinued this beer! This is the most underrated beer of all time. I went out and bought the last 3 cases in town when I heard it was not coming back. I’m somewhat of a health nut, and this is one of the healthiest beers I’ve ever had. Budweiser made a great beer, and label. Just pissed it away with the marketing. Perfect blend of coriander, orange peel, and wheat. Coriander has plenty of benefits, as does orange peel. Low calories. Budweiser recommended me a Blue Moon. Blech! That a sugar orange syrup in a Budweiser. This is pure orange peel, feint in taste, perfectly blended. A nice spice to it. Refreshing, great taste! It’s a light beer, low calories, and a Wheat Ale. It should be rated according for this category. No low calorie beer comes close, no wheat ale comes close. Now I’ve gotta ration my remaining Bud Light Wheat! Dammmmit!!!
2.6 This beer is not as bad as people make it out to be. It’s a very average wheat beer, that has nice citrus notes. If it were a blind taste test, I bet a lot of drinkers wouldn’t be so negative.
2.2 A decent try from A/B. I was completely ready to be disappointed with this one only to be mildly shocked when it was not bad. Very drinkable and no bad "wheat" aftertaste that can happen with some cheaper wits. I hope that they give it another try later on.
4.1 I loved this one, really sad its no longer available. Perfect for one who likes the Belgian-style wheat ales but is looking for a lighter, crisper taste or, as I was, about half the calories of a traditional unfiltered wheat ale. Like a lighter Blue Moon or something. I hope they bring this back one day.
2.2 12oz bottle 6/27/12 (Binny’s Naperville Singles Rack)-42° in Shaker-Pours a hazy yellowish orange with a small white head. Aroma of wheat and nothing. Taste of wheat, citrus, and slight coriander. This light bodied brew is not as bad as I was expecting but still not good.
1.7 ...well, this was crap, and I expected it to be crap. Like normal crap-light with some weird and weak wheat notes. Thin, watery, I should have known it was dookie, but I tried it anyway. Oh well, better than the original, but that’s not really saying anything. Junk.
2.1 Not a bad idea here. Miss out. Not bad for a quick cheap wheat.
2.1 Bottle. Hazy orange color, nicer foam then expected... thought it looked better then it tasted. Skunky and watery with some citrus that went bad. The lime one is better
2.7 12 ounce bottle, aromas of wheat and oranges. Flavor is weak wheat and oranges, nothing too special to note, still better than regular Bud Light.
2.8 Original review: 12/8/09. Was watching the Packer game last night at a local pub, after consuming some of the good craft offerings, decided to give this one a shot. Came out a very murky dark gold with a thin eggshell-white head on top. Little retention, and even less sticky lace. Scents of orange zest, honey, and biscuits. The mouth was crisp and bubbly, but still held a slight pleasant creamy feel. Flavors of light citrus, honey-kissed breads, and sweet wheat. This was very sweet in fact. Could stand a bit more of a balancing bitterness, but what did I really expect from AB? Refreshing beer. All in all, this was a pleasant surprise. Nothing I would go out to get as there are obvious better craft wheats out there, but not bad.
1.6 Pours hazy golden with a thin head. Aromas of orange and wheat. Easy to drink though not very flavorful. Not so bad for AB
1.2 Bottle. Pours hazy gold with thin white head. Faint aroma of orange. Not much taste. Didn’t get much wheat. Bud Light with additives.
2.2 From notes. First reviewed 5/2/2010. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass. Golden Wheat pours an opaque golden orange color. A medium sized rocky white head forms upon pouring, quickly fading to a thin ring. Plenty of carbonation rising up from the bottom. Very piecemeal aroma, like I can feel the construction. Light, with pieces of orange and coriander. Barely any wheat. The ’light’ part is painfully obvious in the taste. Light citrus notes and coriander flavors are present, with a little rough grain. Slightly creamy at the start, but overall it is thin and watery. Leaves an industrial aftertaste. It is more pleasant than Bud Light, but it drinks the same.
1.9 BOTTLE. Hazy orange pour. Sweet wheat flavor with a hint of orange zest and bit of spices. Not bad for a macro.
1.4 Well, it’s better than regular BL but I can’t imagine the situation where I would drink this again.
1.3 Surprisingly or maybe not (since having it once was enough) have forgot to rate this one. I had high hopes this would be decent as I do enjoy wheat beers, but in the end it really is just Bud Light with a little citrus.
2.9 Bud Light Golden Wheat has a very, thick, pillowy cream-colored head and a cloudy, golden appearance with brown yeast chunks floating about. Little lacing is left on the glass. The aroma is of a slight banana whiff and water. Taste is of white wheat bread, a touch of citrus, and a tad of hop bitterness, with a whole lot of water. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Bud Light Golden Wheat finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, easy-drinking, and, unfortunately, a bit dull. Overall, this is a high-average beer. RJT
2.0 Bottle. Actually a hint of tastiness. Too bad it’s so watery and has a nasty finish. Pours pale orange with a small white head. Orange and light malts in the aroma. Watery with a decent but weak citrusy, wheat taste. Metallic and skunky finish.
1.9 Pours a hazy golden orange color with a fizzy head that disappears after approx. 1 minute. Has minimal taste with hints of wheat and orange. Tastes a little better than regular Bud Light.
0.8 As others have said this is more interesting than the lime or regular Light but still not to good.
2.3 More interesting than regular Bud Light, but still pretty much just a light beer. Grainy flavor with light orange/citrus flavor, slightly bitter in finish.
3.1 Pours a mild hazy gold color with a minimal head. Very faint fruity aroma. Has a mild citrus malt flavor that’s a little sour. It’s better than your average Bud Light.
2.3 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy apricot color with a large foamy yellow-white head that lingered and left some lacing. The aroma was tangy, industrial and a bit dry. The flavor was dryish and fairly malty with touches of wheat and nut. Medium length dryish malty finish. Medium body. Better than I expected.
2.1 Not horrible, but a little too sweet for my taste. Does work like a wheat ale; cloudy, grassy, little bit of body and refreshing...just gets to sugary to be a good wheat.
1.6 What can you say but, another lame attempt by Anheuser to jump on the micro and local brew band wagon. I found it too be ok, but not on the top of my list to drink,
1.9 Still Bud LIght, but at least its got some flavor. Its in the category wheat ale above, but the wheat and citrus flavor tastes like more of an additive than anything natural being brewed in, surprisingly ok for yard work in the heat
2.6 A surprisingly good beer. It did not sound appealing to me at first, but I must admit that I enjoyed one.
