Carefully brewed with barley from America’s heartland and cascade hops from the pacific northwest, this rich, amber colored ale has robust flavor and a distinctive hoppy finish.

2.1amber color, aroma and flavors of stale grains, adjudications, and slight caramel, more drinkable than any other AB beer, but thats not saying much
1.3Stale corn and cardboard. Bought it when it came out with pretty low expectations and this still managed to underwhelm.
2.0An amber beer with a light head, much better than most of the other beers at A-B. A taste of malts with a bit of toffee. Not on par with craft ambers, but ok.
2.6Not a bad effort by Budweiser, and I'll take this over any of their others. Still, aftertaste is a bit stale and lingers. Okay for a cookout with nothing else, but otherwise no thanks.
1.1More than likely an old bottle from my local ABC. It smelled like a Styrofoam plate and tasted almost as bad. To this breweries’ credit there was actually an aftertaste of hops though!
3.0Draught @ CT Whale game: This one was sold at the game as "Whale Ale" I got them to show me the cap for the keg to find out what it really was. The color is a clear amber color. Some tan head to it with a little lacing. Milder nose. Mainly caramel malts, but no sweetness and has some earthiness. Taste is OK. Malty, and a touch bitter with some of the earthiness and no sweetness. Acceptable.
1.9Tasted 25/4/2013 355ml can (English and Arabic writing on car). Poured a clear golden amber colour with a two-finger white foamy head that collapsed quickly and laced poorly. Low carbonation with a few small bubbles forming trails. Aroma very faintly of malt. Taste of sweet malt, no real bitterness, bland; gets a bit sour as warms. Light body. Smooth, light, soft with a slightly metallic finish. 24/8/2012 Poured a clear pale golden yellow colour with a one-finger white foamy head that quickly diminished but laced OK. High carbonation. Slight aroma and this of sour grain plus a trace of malt. Taste of grain and had not a lot of hops. Light body (bordering on watery). Smooth finish with a touch of very slight bitterness. Aroma, taste and palate comparable with other large commercial brewery lagers.
1.5On principle, we try to support smaller, craft brews. We find them more interesting too. When we tried this Budweiser American Ale, I was not particularly wowed. Rob liked it, which is just better than neutral.
3.2Ale that has the characteristics of smaller batch brewing. Good semi-strong barley flavor with just enough hopness to get noticed. I found myself wanting one after another, a testament to the great finish.
2.4Not awful. Copper colored slightly hoppy caramel. Haven't seen this in a while. Not sure if it still exists.
2.4from notes (is this even made anymore?): very Bass like in its pour and taste. Light on the hops. There are much better ambers out there if you want to find them. Scroll past this beer and this entire brewery.
3.0Original review: 2/4/09. Poured an obvious amber with a massive white frothy head resting on top. Retention on this one was surprisingly firm as it held up for most of the entire drink. Some spotty lacing on glass edge. No more. Smelled of floral hops and caramel. Decent.
Very thin mouthfeel. Watery and weak. Flavor is very muted hop base, with no bitter bite at all. Red Ales need to be hoppy and bitter, this one was neither. Still, I could place some decent malt presence and definitive caramel backing. Finish was a tad chalky and drying. I really could drink a few of these. Not bad. Avoid the hate, check it out.
2.9Clear reddish copper with 1/2 inch head leaving it frothy with a bit of lacing.
Aroma is sweet malt carmel, somewhat bready slight smokiness almost- pretty nice malt aroma.
Full mouthfeel at first with creamyness, then some citrus hops, more malt carmel taste than hops with a bit of roast and finishes dry clean with a pretty tame citrusy tart bitterness. Its almost like a mild scottish ale/ mild ale.Not too bad.
1.7This isn’t a horrible beer. That being said, it does resemble a typical macro product but wrapped up in a fancy label. There’s not a whole lot of flavor in this, although it might be preferable to regular Budweiser.
2.0Better than other Buds but not a good ale. Slightly bittersweet, cheap taste, watered down, little depth of flavor.
2.3Reddish copper color with hues of orange. The nose is low on power...mostly toasted malt. The taste follows the nose...it’s toasty and bready for the most part. Thin mouthfeel.
2.8Had on tap, poured into pint glass
a: clear amber color with a foamy 1/2" head that reduces quicly. Light carbonation
s: not too much aroma, what is there is malt
t: sweet malts, balanced with slight earthy hops. I would have liked a little more hop bitterness, but not bad that most of the masses should like
2.1poured from a bottle. the appearance is a light red amber and the head surprisingly stuck around. the smell is hoppy and the taste is very bad. tastes very bitter with a tiny bitterness and yeast. overall it’s a very bad beer that i would not recommend.
2.812 oz bottle pours a dark copper color with small white head. Aroma of sweet grain, malt and a of citrus. Taste is of sweet malts, bready, slight kick of hops on the back end.
2.8Nose of sweet malts and caramel, not much else. Amber with a lighter amber / golden / light copper head. Taste of sweet malts and, yes, citrus hops. Real hops in a Bud. Thin in the mouth. Finish is actually bitter. Not great, not even very good, but certainly not bad.
2.512oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a somewhat cloudy amber with a half finger of off-white head. Very light aroma of caramel. Taste is about the same. Lightly bitter with a very light caramel taste. Light bodied with a thin texture. Fizzy carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, not very good. I would drink this over light beer any day but not something I would seek out.
2.5Bottle. Clear amber pour with a foamy off-white head that fades to a ring. Aroma is caramel malt with a touch of hop. Medium palate, not overly carbonated. Taste is caramel malt, a little bit watery, and just a touch of metallic tinge at the end. Not too bad.
3.5After some skepticism due to the fact that I hate all things Budweiser (except for their commercials), I was actually impressed. It’s nothing like their other products; it actually has that after-taste that beer is supposed to have, instead of tasting like piss-water. Thumbs up!
2.3Bottle. Pours amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of sweet malts/caramel with a hint of citrus. Slightly watery and sweet with flavors of malt, caramel, cardboard and roasted nuts. Maybe a hint of hops with a slightly bitter finish.
2.9Tasted from bottle in nucleated pint glass. Pours a nice, clear reddish-amber color with thick persistent beige foam. Noticeable hops aroma (almost certainly Cascades judging by grapefruit-aroma,) which is a brand new experience with a Budweiser product. Medium-body mouthfeel from seemingly complex grainbill. Malty-sweet with notes of bread, caramel, fruit. Sufficiently balanced by hop bitterness and hints of roasted grain. This is clearly an Anheuser Busch marketing strategy to compete with the surging popularity of microbrewed American Pale Ales, but I’ve got to admit they got closer to the target than I expected. It still bears some of the sharp, harsh, metallic, excessively carbonated traits that mar all their products, but no nasty adjunct off-tastes. It is surprisingly drinkable. I sometimes bite when it goes on sale under $6/six-pack. If nothing else, these are nice, thick pop-top bottles to reuse for homebrew.
2.1Amber, good head. Not bad considering its heritage. Some detectable toasty malt flavor with a decent hop bitterness.
0.8A rip off of craft brews, trying to cash in on "amber"s. It does taste a bit better than reg bud tho. King of macros by volume but definitely not taste.
3.1Bottle. Not bad for AB. Deep amber brown color. Head lasts> smells of fruit, amber nuts and hay. Taste is slightly hoppy with a dry backbone. Not bad
2.7Pretty decent offering by AB. Not really complex by any means, but nice sweet malty profile with a pronounced fruity flavor. Easy to drink.
2.7I like an amber ale, and this isn’t bad. Could have more of the flavors...hops, roasted malt, so it’s a little lighter than I want, but not bad. Finishes nicely.
