Bürgerbräu Wolnzacher Hell Naturtrüb

Bürgerbräu Wolnzacher Hell Naturtrüb

Although, the traditional Hell style is filtered, the philosophy at Buergerbrauerei is that beer tastes best when served in its natural state.

3.9 Bottle @ Brewery. Pours cloudy golden with a small creamy head and lacings. Nose is fresh. Breadcrust and grassy hops. Smooth, dry and bitter. Really lovely! I would drink this over any IPA all day!
3.2 0,5 l bottle, Sörspecialista, Budapest. Hazy yellow one with a froathy white head that melts down to a small lacing one. Aroma is full of malt and yeast, cereals and honey, herbal hops. Lively carbonation in the medium body, cereals and yeasts again with a powerful bit of the herbal grassy hops. Bittersweet finish with a light honeyish character.
3.5 500ml bottle. Appearance is cloudy, light orangish color with medium off-white Head. Aroma is malt, plenty of cereals, and a hint of citrus. Taste is similar with sweet malts, citrus, and lots of hay, bread and cereals. Palate is medium-bodied, smooth texture, average carbonation, and a sweet finish.
4.7 Bottle at the brewery. It’s not a keller, it’s an unfiltered hellesbier. Full with aromahops, pilsner and münich malts, it’s a direct hit in most cases.
3.5 Bottle from Sörspecialista, Bp. Hazy yellow pour with a medium sized white head. Fresh, citrus-fruity and hoppy nose and aroma with bread, hay, flowers and some notes of honey in the background, mouthfeel’s sharp and kinda thick. It finishes long and dry escorted by spices and citrusses. Aromatic and easy drinkable, refreshing brew.
3.3 The beer in the glass is a very pale yellow, slightly turbid with a flat head. The smell is yeasty hoppy, very fresh. Starts well done recent, wedge-like acidity and also pleasantly yeasty. The yeasty-fruity tone takes over the course more and more in volume. The aftertaste is fruity fermented concise and well-spicy. Right at the finish, the beer gets a big hop push, what completes the whole thing quite well.
2.8 0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Hazy golden yellow color. The aromas of old bread and tart fruits. Bready, honeyish, yeasty, fruity and slightly sulfury flavor. Astringent yeasty palate. Tastes somewhat old (BB 16th Nov 2010).
3.0 Bottled 500ml. -Trade with shrubber85 (thanks Roger!). Cloudy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, lively carbonation, mild hoppy and herbal nose with hint of camomile. Moderate malty, grainy and herbal with touch of camomile in the finish. Pleasant brew.
3.3 Bottle received in a trade with shrubber85, shared with ogivlado. Poured a murky yellow colour with a medium white head that went away at a medium pace, Nice and so was the nose, grainy and hoppy, herbal, honeyish, dry, carrying some notes of vegetables, quite German overall. The taste was mild and malty, slightly sweetish and grainy, with some sharp carbonation bite mingling in there. Some herbal salty hop too, weak honey. Dunno, very balanced, slightly light, probably even better more fresh. Far from the greatness I had once expected out of it.
4.0 500 ml bottle in Germany from shrubber85. An off gold color with lots of carbs coming forth and a nice white head. Aroma is hay and grass. Has a sweet mellow and very solid taste for a Helles which I think that is might be.
3.3 Bottle. Sour milk malt and lemon peel aroma. Hazy pale yellow with large white head and moderate effervescence. Light bitter lemon peel and mild barley malt flavor. Light palate. Good but not great - malt flavor too subdued.
3.9 draught at Zum Bürgerbräuwirt, Wolnzach. Hazy yellow colour, large white head. Flowery hoppy nose. Medium to full-bodied, good malty background with lovely flowery hop flavours. Not too bitter but still very hoppy in a flowery way. Lovely!
3.5 (draught, at the Bürgerbräuwirt, Wolnzach) lightly hazy golden colour with a fluffy white head. faint aroma of floral hops, pale malts, light honey and yeast qualities. flavour is strong herbal hop and grainy pale malts with a touch of yeast. medium body and carbonation with a light bitter finish.
3.2 Big thanks to joss for the beer! The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Very zippy, much foam. Tastes spicy, like wheat, well balanced finish, very drinkable. Good beer!
3.3 Bottle, 4.9%. Bready aroma, turning sweetly and fruitily hoppy. Sparkling, clear dark golden colour. Big, stable white head. Mild flavour, quite malty, slightly sugary. Good aroma hop flavour.
3.7 light brown/tan colored beer with large creamy off-white head. lots of vigorous lacing. pepper, hops, tart aroma. flavor is tart with some herbal hops, pepper, cardboard, musty. almost like a pissenlit to me. light bodied. crisp. very good keller.
1.8 Thank you Masn/G2B.dk! BB is 2007 August 24, and I drink it 2008, January 19. It’s warm golden, slightly hazy with big chuncks of sediment and a weak head. The aroma has notes of malt, flower and the flavour has a light sweetness, notes of malt, flower, fruit, straw and the bitterness is low.
3.3 Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Dedollewaitor. Hazy yellow with a small, rough white head. Malty nose with flowery hops. Medium and clean malty body with a dry and lightly hoppy finish. Straight. 280712 Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of Hildigöltur. Pours a hazy, pale golden with a lively, white head. Fresh, malty nose with a vague acidity. Light body with vague, acidic notes and a very subdued bitterness. I suspect that this is slightly infected without being absolutely unpleasant. 5/2/3/2/6=1.8 201107
4.0 Beautiful hazy golden body with a nice white head; Very mellow settled well composed elegant malty nose with a slight hop touch; Fresh malty bitter body, balanced with a very present fresh sharp sparkle, the hops could be a little more present; Very long malty bitter fresh with elegant malty aromas. Very nice beer that would be perfect with just a little more hop added.
2.4 50 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy yellow and with a dense white head. Aroma is slight citric and with a soft malt base. Flavour is slight acidic and mild malty. Finish holds a decent bitterness and a with mild acidity. Seems slight off.
4.2 Bottled. Really a beer with a wonderful appearence: cloudy golden, with yeast in suspension. The head is big, white and medium persistent. Nice aroma of bready and biscuity malt, with grassy and herbal notes from the hops. Soft mouthfeel, clean flavours of malt, with some fruitiness, and the right amount of hops. Lightly honeish and caramellish. Light to medium body, average carbonation, medium to long aftertaste. Dry with quite light bitterness. A beer that leaves you with the desire to drink more of it. Very elegant and drinkable, perfect for the summer days, I hope to try it on tap one day. The best Helles, I have tasted so far and one of the best German beers I have ever had. A really great beer.
2.8 Name: Wolnzacher Hell Naturtrub Date: 11/26/2003 Mode: Bottle Conditioned Source: Bullock’s dark yellow, lots of carbonation, big foamy white head, sweet malt and floral hop aroma, light malt flavor, touch of sweetness followed by a short bitter finish Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 8/10; Flavor: 5/10; Palate: 5/10; Overall: 10/20 Rating: 2.8/5.0 Score: **/4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The score was calculated based upon the notes and an old scoring system.
3.2 Hazy, golden coloured body with very strong orange highlights and a huge beautiful tan head. Aroma of malt, fresh hops, wheat, and some sugar. Light-bodied; mild taste of malt and some spices but a very clean finish. After taste shows an effervescent finish with malt the strongest. Overall, a good beer but a bit too mild for me. I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, NY on 23-June-2007 on the Eastern Shore in Virginia.
3.9 Served in a tall footed pilsner glass, the beer is a deep gold, topped by a good inch of nearly white sudsy foam. Pretty good head retention, the lacing is painted thick on the walls of the glass. Sweet and fruity aroma, with a faint wisp of smoke. Quite the sweet beer at first, with caramel-apple and maple syrup. These give way to a slightly drier and lightly hopped character in subsequent sips. Lively carbonation, medium body, tasty and drinkable. Only 5% alcohol? It isn’t boozy by any means, but seems to be more potent than that.
3.1 Bottle. A golden orange color with a white head. Dry on the palate with a hay and musty aroma. Mild hops with a fizzy light finish. Rating from December 2005 notes.
3.7 The pour is golden with a decent fizzy white head. The aroma is fruity and malty. The flavor is sweet with a touch of fruit and a bit of an acidic sourness. LIght hoppish background and mild bitterness at the finish.
2.5 Bottle: Hazy, deep golden coloured, medium-sized off-white layer, slowly diminshing; under a blanket of fruity-estery sourishness (this sample was infected, that’s quite sure..) is a blanket of sweet malt detectable; sweet-bitter (+ sourish) flavour, medium bodied; sweetish (fruity) bitter, a bit tart finish with a lingering hoppiness in the aftertaste. Disappointing - deserves a second chance....though ! Thanx to joss !
