4.0 12 ounce bottle. Pours a pitch black hue with a creamy brown head. A big bourbon nose. Sweet, big bourbon, but the overall base is ashy, dry, dark chocolate. Damn good.

4.3 0.33 l bottle from 'Etre Gourmet', bottled in September 2016. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, stable, brown head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of dark chocolate, praline, mocca, bourbon and vanilla. Medium sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite roasty taste of dark chocolate, praline, mocca, toasted nuts, massive bourbon and some vanilla, followed by a very long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy, a bit smoky, fairly but pleasantly boozy and warming finish with notes of peat. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Very nasty beer with a smooth start and a harsh finish. Overall pretty intense, not what you would call well-balanced, but especially because of that it's a great sipper. I like it a lot and fortunately, Buxton doesn't only do Pastry Stouts.

3.9 Pours black with a dark tan head. Nose shows heavy chocolate, spicy hops, heavy roast. Flavours include cocoa, spicy and resinous piny hops, some booze followed by an aggressive bitterness.

4.2 Flaska från SB, från 2016. Kolsvart med liten brun krona. Stor doft och smak av bourbon, soja, läder, tjärpastill, läkerol, likörpralin, marsipan, riktigt mörk och bitter choklad, russin, kokos, bränt socker och chokladkaka. Stor kropp, men inte massiv. Viss fatkaraktär. Ganska bra med hetta och alkoholvärme kvar från fatlagringen. En ganska rå och old school BBA impy. Med lite mindre hetta och en något större kropp hade den varit spot on, men redan som det är så är det en stabil imp stout i det högre skiktet. Mycket gott.

3.8 Dark, some body, little sour. Roasty, caco, barrel but just a hint, vanilla, chocolate, fruits. Quite nice.

4.7 Bottle. Pours black. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, bourbon and liquorice. Moderate sweet. Full bodied with oily texture. Really outstanding stuff.

4.2 Bottled 05. SEP 2016. Pours dark brown with high and pillowy brownish head. Aroma of coffee, red fruits, chocolate, vanilla and oak. In taste high sweetness with a roasty and slightly ashy bitter finish. Full bodied, oily and slightly warming. Very good.

4.1 Roasted, chcolate, oak and bourbon, black with a thin head, medium/full body, medium carbonation, quite dry, a touch of alcohol with a good warming final, again chocolate and roasted....very good.

4.1 Słodki aromat, lukrecja, anyż, czekolada, kokos, lekka wanilia i nieco nut bourbonu w tle. Smak jest bardzo słodki, nuty bourbonu, trochę drewna, paloność, lukrecja, kokos, wanilia i anyż. Średnia goryczka, oleista tekstura.

3.9 Poured at Shelton Festival, black with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, wood, bourbon, smoke. Slick body, roast, dark chocolate, wood, boozy, nice dry finish, very nice.

4.2 Bottle. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas of port wine, dried fruit and vanilla. Flavours of raisin, wood, carael, licorice and bourbon. Oily texture. Nice and full body.

4.5 Bottle 0,33L. Black color with thin, light brown head. Excellent aroma of dark dried fruits, dark chocolate, brandy, burnt caramel. Taste starts light sweet/light bitter with brandy and dried dark fruits and slowly become medium bitter with bitter chocolate finish. A hint of alcohol is present, but not even close the level you could imagine at 12,2% ABV. Warming chocolate long lasting aftertaste.Once again, excellent beer! Way to go!

4.4 Black color with mocha head. Aroma has toffee, spicy chocolate, cacao and a light rum note. Taste has bourbon, salted caramel, slightly astringent dark chocolate, cacao bitterness and green coffee beans on the aftertaste. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A really well made imperial stout.

3.9 Zwart bier met weinig bruin schuim. Geur: alcoholisch, geroosterde mout, wat melkchocolade. Smaak: donkere chocolade, alcoholisch, rozijn rumtopf. Matige koolzuurprikkel. Volmondig. Afdronk: licht zoet, alcoholisch en droog.

4.5 Aroma is intense and complex: vanilla, deep-roasted malts, bourbon, wood notes, hazelnut waffles, cocoa beans. Taste is rich and complex with roasted malts, dark chocolate, alcohol spices and bourbon. Oily, sweet, bitter and roasty aftertaste. Absolute bourbon beast.

4.0 Bottle shared, pours a dark black color with small coffee head. Aromas and flavor of roasted malt, toffee, licorice, fudge, barrel, fudge, coffee, and rich grains. So complex and warming in the belly. Sticky mouthfeel.

3.9 Bottle, many thanks derA! Pitch black color with beige head. Aroma is vanilla, caramel, chocolate, sweet. Taste is caramel, vanilla, chocolate, slightly tart finish. Silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very nice, but the nice elegant earthiness of the beer is lost in the barrel flavours.

3.6 Bottle. Black, dark brown creamy head. Salty vanilla and tobacco nose, some seaweed/iodine. Dry wood, tobacco, sweet vanilla beans, cocoa. Medium full, creamy mouthfeel. Salty light lactic finish. Preferred the non barrel version.

3.5 Väldigt trevlig doft. Russin, choklad, bourbon och vanilj. Smaken blir för spritig även om den generellt är trevlig. Hade varit trevlig led lite mindre.

4.2 Score: 9 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17 330 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet, bottled 05 Sep 16. Pitch black body, with a small, creamy, moderately lacing, coffee-colored head. Very smooth aroma of bourbon, oak, dark chocolate, dark fruits, tobacco, coffee, cocoa beans, liquorice. Tastes quite similar, with some booze, more tobacco and liquorice, but also some vanilla. Full, oily, velvety mouthfeel, with a soft carbonaton. Finishes roasty-bitter, medium dry, warm, very oaky, with tobacco, liquorice, coffee, cocoa beans, a bit sweet, with subtle vanilla. Very tasty. The nose is my highlight, very smooth, dense and complex, with a lovely bourbon note. Taste has some booze, but overall really well balanced for the ABV. There's really a lot going on, sweet, roasty, bitter and oaky notes in very good harmony. Lovely, round example of a Bourbon BA Imperial Stout.

4.2 33cl bottle. Dark brown black color. Brown thin head. Taste is medium bitter and light to medium sweet. Medium body. Super silky. Aroma and flavour is chocolate, roasted, vanilla, cinnamon, chestnuts, chili, herby.

4.0 Bottled from Systembolaget Black with a small, tan head. Chocolate, tar, oak, prat in both aroma and flavour. Sweet and vinous.

4.0 (330ml bottle from Systembolaget) Pours black with a small medium tan head and lace. Aroma of nougat, cocoa powder, toffee, moderate vanilla and roast, light licorice, notes of dark fruit (plum, fig), bourbon is present but not particularly dominant, sweet overall. On the tongue, much drier overall with just some initial sweetness, notes of dark toffee and molasses, cacao nibs, sweetened black coffee, burnt grain, charred wood, licorice, touches of whiskey and vanilla, spirit heat. Becoming quite dry and bitter on the back end with further notes of tar, coffee grounds, burnt grains and wood, with a little whiskey making itself felt in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with low carbonation. Surprisingly little spirit quality even if there’s a bunch of wood, compared to many current BBA stouts. Solid.

4.2 Pours black with a thin head. Aroma is vanilla, bourbon and chocolate. Heavy alcohol flavour, bourbon and vanilla mainly with a big smokey finish. A top beer for fans of BA beers.

4.1 Kolsvart med ett riktigt kakao brunt skum. Doft: Grädde, kakao, choklad, kola likör, super sött kaffe, söt lakrits, lite lite kött. Stark stark 8:a. Smak: Gräddig kaffe kola likör, kraftigt rostat, jord, lite barkiga barr.

5.0 Mooi zwart bier, mokkakleurige schuimkraag die redelijk snel inzakt. Aroma en smaken van hout, bourbon, chocolade, koffie, likeur. Zo zacht en zoo in balans. Beter dan dit ga je echt niet vinden. Magistraal in alle vormen. Pure perfectie !!!!

Aroma of big woody and boozy bourbon barrel upfront with vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, molasses and licorice. Flavour is light heavy sweet and bitter.
