The Porter originated on the streets of London. Its name was born from the hard working river and street porters of the past 250 years. It was a strong and robust beer that fuelled the labourers of the capital. Lambeth Walk is a dark porter with a rich and opaque appearance. It has a dominant nose with aromas of toasted cocoa and dark malts. There are initial dark berry notions with subtle roasted hazelnut flavours, finishing on a surprisingly refreshing floral hop. Here’s one for the hard worker who still finds time for a good old knee’s up ‘Doin’ the Lambeth Walk’oii!?

3.6 Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured almost black with a frothy broken light tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, light vanilla. The flavour is liqourice bitter with a dry smoky coffee light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
4.2 Bottle from Mam and Dad’s holiday, London. Black with a thin tan head. It has liquorice and milk chocolate flavours followed by a smooth coffee, red fruit and more liquorice on the finish. Excellent!
3.3 Dark brown colour with a thick medium sized tan head. Burnt malt, chocolate and coffee aroma initially, some astringent notes. Burnt malt sweetness, hints of chocolate but predominately coffee grounds. A dry ashy finish.
3.5 Dark brown colored, medium frothy tan head, good lacing. Aroma is roasted malt, burnt sugar and chocolate. Taste is medium- sweet chocolate, burnt sugar, roasted malt, bit caramel, medium dry roasted bitterness, lasting aftertaste. Medium bodied, soft+ carbonation, creamy.
3.7 Gravity at the Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival. Ppurs mahogany with a rim of beige foam. Rich cocoa aroma. Thebtaste is rich dark chcolate and very light spice. Coffee notes too. Light bodied, but bery good.
4.2 Deep brown, almost black pour with a thick beige head. Coffee, chocolate, roast notes, taste is smooth, milky coffee with a little chocolate, nice long bitter coffee finish
3.8 Gravicask (PBF2015, Wednesday) (7+:5:7:4+:15=3.8++) Beautiful black, small tight head. Wonderfully chocolatey aroma. Beautifully soft palate. Lovely real malts in that roast, no fake adjuncts creating a proper bitter chocolatey feel. Palate also very rich. This is a fantastic porter - we’re fighting over the glass. Ever so slightly drying element to the finish, but only enough to make you want another mouthful. Phil gets it more as coffee grounds, but according to Anna, Phil is wrong. Anna thinks it stays on chocolate the whole time, never veering to wards coffee. Anna should get her own account.
4.1 Absolutely bloody lovely! Possibly my favourite Porter of all time. Hits every note spot on and ends as good as it starts. Gorgeous!
3.2 Bottle at home. Chocolate nose. Mildly roasty. Light to medium body. Dry cocoa finish.
4.0 Overall: Dry, roasted coffee, dark chocolate. Dark fruits. Note: Bottle 330 ml at Bishops Arms. Reviewed 2015-06-11.
3.8 Bottle. Black beer with a beige head. Roasted chocolate licorice tar ashy aroma. Chocolate roasted tar ashy cocoa licorice fruity flavour with some floral notes.
2.5 20.04.2015. 0,33l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Haugesund. Black colour with absolutely no carbonation. Thats not rigth? Its flat with sour notes. Body is pretty rich with coffee, licqorice and dark malts. Sour with a bitter finish. Spoiled bottle I think.
3.7 Bottle @ home. Almost opaque dark brown color, medium sized off-white head that leaves fair lacing. Aroma is quite faint, I only get malts, a hint of caramel, a little earthy. Taste malts, again some caramel, a touch of hazelnut, earthy, lightly ashy, quite some roast and moderately bitter with a slight touch of red fruit in the background. Decent body, suitable quite soft carbonation. Good porter.
3.2 330ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours opaque dark brown, 2 inch foamy beige head from hal-pouring the bottle. A tad over-carbonated. Aromas are acidic, burnt malt, ash. Taste is tar, light liquorice, charcoal. Coffee coming through, and dark chocolate. Prickly carbonation though.
3.8 Bottle 33cl. No particular layer. Quite heavy body. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, leather, berries, cherries, licorice. Taste is sweet leather shoeberries.
2.9 Bottle 33cl traded with Olliejobbins thanks. A dark beer with copper head. Nose is on roasted malt, astringency. Aroma is on roasted malt again, dark coffee, espresso, licorice, astringency, light acidity, bit sharp on my point of view.

1.1 Bottle. Pours a murky brownish color with no head. Hmm.. smells kinda sour with loads of roast and coffee. I think this is a bad bottle. Taste has alot of sour notes as well. Along with roasted malts, tar and smoke. Feels watery, is flat and I’m guessing (and hoping) that it’s not supposed to be like this.
2.7 Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 24.01.15. Very dark brown. Small brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coconut and vanilla. Sour taste, with sour and slightly bitter berries. Thin mouthfeel and little carbonation. And shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 21.05.18. A gusher this time
Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, caramel, grain, malt. Flavour is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, caramel, grain, cocoa. Medium body. Nice beer.
3.2 Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is light chocolate roast, taste is sweet chocolate, bitter finish.
2.9 Dark, dark beer with absolutely no head or carbonation what so ever. Aroma is roasty and slightly sweet. Mouthfeel is medium-light with flavors of dark malts, roastyness, sweet dark fruits, toffee and caramel. Finishes with a slight astringency, but it’s kinda nice actually.
3.0 Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Sentrum. Drukket i Skibotn 3 Jan 14. Kullsort. Ekstremt lite skum. Litt bobler inntil glasset. God aroma av røstet malt & lakris. Smaken overraskende tynn. Uharmonisk. Tørr sjokolade & kaffe. KI=3
3.2 Bottle.Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, caramel, grains and malt. Flavor is sweet and malty with some coffee, roasted and berries. Medium to thin body, average carbonation.
2.8 Light beige layer, black brown body, poor lacing. Aroma; roasted malts, roasted prunes, prunes on wood and ashes, lots of coffee notes, some black chocolate powder. Taste; roasted malts, dark sour fruits, bitter dry plums, tar, coffee, some black chocolate notes. Alright body, almost no carbonation, somewhat dry. Finishes on the black side, coffee, black malty notes, black plums, tar. Not a porter for a newbie, sour tar notes may disturb a bit, but interesting porter for the somewhat experienced taster.
