{C} Curtius

Curtius is a blond beer brewed with a number of premium quality products with a light taste and refreshing flavors. Mixed with different malts of barley and wheat, its base grants it a pleasant lightness while the addition of aromatic hop blossoms gives it a subtly bitter, flowery and fruity flavor.
Its unique and progressive taste is the results of multiple fermentation steps, conducted during several months.
Curtius deserved a bottle of quality and prestige at the scale of its content. This is why we chose a 37.5 cl corked bottle, just like Champagne bottles. Naturally Curtius will also be available in barrels.

To enjoy all the flavors of Curtius store the bottle upright at room and stable temperature, hidden from daylight.
When tasting, once the bottle is properly chilled, untie the cork wire, take out the cork and serve Curtius Beer in its original glass. Avoid pouring the bottom of the bottle which contains the yeast dregs which gave its complexity to Curtius during its bottled re-fermentation.
Ideal temperature for beer-tasting : 6-8°C

Note: Draft version produced at Brasserie {C} in Liège, bottled beer brewed at Les 3 Fourquets (Lupulus) in Gouvy.

4.0 Heerlijk smaakvol blonde van 7%.
3.6 Bottle @ Home w friends/Chef. Appearance: pours slightly hazy golden with good off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, grass, wheat, light fruit ester, light spices, light citrus and floral notes. palette: medium yeasty and light hoppy aroma, light sprinkling carbonation, medium body, average sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration, semi-dry finish and a watery texture. Overall: enjoyable light hoppy Belgian
3.3 75 cl fles. Wazig goudblond bier met wit schuim. Geur: mout, granen, wat gist. Smaak: mout, tripelgist, ietwat groene appel, zweempje banaan, lichte hopbitterheid. Romig mondgevoel. Goede koolzuurprikkel. Afdronk: droog, licht hopbitter. Blond degustatiebier met tripel allure.
4.2 Golden hazy with a frothy head. Hoppy herbal smell. Hoppy taste with a sweet fruitiness and the typical spicy, candylike note of Belgian blonde ales. A lovely beer.
3.3 Alone at home. Hazy blond colored beer with small white head and no carbonation visible. Fruity nose. Full sparkling palate. Finish is hopped bitter sweet.
3.3 Copenhagen 12/1 2019. 37,5 cl bottle from Vinbørsen, Nordhavnsgade, Kbh Ø. Fine little bottle with a cork cap fastened with a metalnet. Tagline "La Bière Liégeoise". Pours hazy pale yellow with a big white head. Settles as thin, flimsy layer of foam thicker around the side of the glass. Very moderate lacing. Aroma is pretty light and fruity. Sweet peach, pear, white sugar. Light notes of citrus. Lighter yeasty notes of humid basement rummaging in the background. Fairly strong carbonation. Slightly thick, very lively and prickly texture. Flavor is medium sweet followed by a stronger tart, bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a tart edge. Finish is semi-dry. Fresh, tart and fruity.
4.0 Bottle at home. Pours hazy dark golden with big white head. Aroma of flowers, apples and pears, light bread, coffee, pepper. Taste sweet and bitter with a lot of hops. Medium bodied, middels carbonation.
3.6 Draught. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus zest. Light, dry brew, yeast, medium bitterness.
3.4 Bottle, Beers of Europe. Clear light golden colour, white foam. Nice fruity notes, pear drop. Light malty base, drinks lightly for strength, not that bitter but pleasant yeasty character. A nice blonde.
3.6 Bottle at Delirium Brussels. Pretty, cloudy blond with a low head. Light lemon and rich malt nose, biscuity. Bready, malty flavor, spicy yeast, lightly spritzy with soft, German-like malts. Nice but this was freaking expensive.
3.9 Aroma: Medium lemon peel, spicy, floral. Medium-light fruity, pear Appearance: Clear, golden body. Medium, white head. Fair retention. Small bubbles. Flavour: Medium citrus, lemon peel, bready, floral, bitterness Medium-light crusts, pear, spicy. Dry finish with lemon, pear. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high carbonation. Overall: A well balanced, complex beer. Not quite as subtle as the style suggest, but not overpowering. Really enjoyable. 25A. Belgian Blond Ale 375 ml bottle, poured.
3.2 Tap @ Belgian Beer Weekend, Hibiya Park. Pours lightly amber, clear-ish, frothy white head. Nose is lightly Belgian, some yeast spices and caramel. Taste reveals caramelly and relatively sweet body, light herbal bitterness in the background. Drinks OK, not my favorite but nothing bad to say about this either.
3.3 Tap into a tap showing moderately filtered pale straw with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of clean sweet notes of lemon and flower. The palate is medium bodied and well carbonated. Light Belgian yeast forwardness with a mild bitterness that reins in the sweetness. High alcohol.
3.1 37,5cl Bottle @ Beer Mania, Brussels, Belgium. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is malt, straw, citrus, yeast, spices. Taste is malt, grain, sweet, citrus, yeast, coriander. Medium body, average carbonation.
3.7 Bottle. Color: Clear golden, white head. Aroma: Malt, wheat, hop. Taste: Medium sweet and medium hoppy, grain, wheat, notes of white sugar, yeasty and banana hints. Long lasting bittery palate at finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Easy drinkable blond beer with some complexity. Not that special, but quite nice. I like the balance between the grain, wheat and hop.
3.4 Bottled. A yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of fruits, malt, and yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, malt, and yeast, leading to a dry finish.
3.7 hazy pale yellow colour, moderate sized white head, which collapses quickly leaving back only some lacing; aroma of wheaty-grainy, moderate citrusy, floral, yeasty-earthy and maybe minimal fruity notes, taste of malty-candy sugar-like sweetness with some hoppy notes, some apricot (?), as well as citruses and earthy-metallic notes; quite enjoyable ale
3.5 Bottle from the Offie, Leicester. Light golden, hazy with lots of visible carbonation and a fizzy white head. Light notes of lemon zest, hay, candy sugar yeast, vanilla, sweet spices in the scent. Sweet taste with some grain and yeast flavours, with the bitterness of a citrussy hop in the finish. The heavy carbonation and light body give in a pleasant effervescence that hides its strength. Good stuff.
3.7 Bottle. Light to moderate grain and hay for the malt, lemon and perfume for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with coriander and sugar in the background. Head is average to large, frothy, white, with excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is murky yellow/amber, with some bits and pieces at the bottom. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and lightly bitter. Palate is on the lighter side of medium, watery, with a lively to fizzy carbonation. A very nice drinking Belgian Blonde Ale, with some Tripel aspects to it.
