2.7 14.9oz. can. Aroma of lightly sweet, nutty malt, mildly herbal, floral and fruity hop, with notes of toast, caramel and faint woodiness. Mostly clear medium amber-red in color, with a foamy, lasting, off-white head. Flavor profile is very lightly bitter, spicy and earthy to start, turning sweeter and fruity with some very faint toasty caramel malt and a touch of biscuit and honey late. For all its visible effervescence, none comes across on the palate and it could certainly use some. Light, watery feel, body is extremely light as well. Drinkable, as long as its somewhat cold.
3.4 Light brown/copper color.Good head tiny nitrous bubbles creamy semi thick whipped eggwhite like. MIld lacing. Sweet toffee nut, buttery aroma.Mild/slight hop herbal/spice maybe. Taste is caramel, pretty sweet, some mild hop herbal/citrus,nutty,butteryish, smooth, candy like finish(toffee)some lingering mild bitter. Overall: its a little on the sweet side but pretty tastey for a 4% beer, almost a nutbrown.
2.7 14.9oz can -pours clear caramel with offwhite head. Nose is caramel and floral hops. Has that British creamy body. Flavor adds toffee. Light body. Balanced but not too tasty. Latent coffee presence. Totally inoffensive and quite drinkable. Cheers.
2.7 Meh... pretty tasty pour, looks pretty in a glass. Nothing particularly notable regarding taste, palate, etc. Makes a good yard bitters or porch bitters.
3.2 Poured into a perfect pint. 3.0 A: Clear dark orange amber color. Two fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is about average and nothing is left in terms of lacing. 3.5 S: "Stale" toastiness, grainy malts, and an earthy mineral component. Fairly dry. Not a lot going on, but decent enough. 4.0 T: Lots of flavor hiding in the taste though. Toastiness, caramel, graininess, and mineral earth. Much more potent than the nose. Dry, but balanced. 3.5 M: Medium body. Slippery feel to it like nitro or something along those lines. Carbonation is on the lower end, giving a cask feel to it. 3.5 D: Decent beer. Worth a try if you like a lighter beer from time to time. Serving type: can Reviewed on: 10-09-2012 03:01:44
2.2 Clear deep golden colour with a mild sweet aroma, but hardly any taste or bitterness.
3.1 440ml can pours amber in color with a small white head that leaves some spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and grass. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with a grassy hop bitterness. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation leaving a slight prickle on the tongue. A typical English style bitter with nothing really notable about it.
3.4 Brown color and a nice white head that lasts some time. Mild aroma of malt and yeast. Flavor is surprisingly sweet, some raisin, with a very smooth palate and a dry finish. I had low expectations from the scores but this is a good beer.
2.6 Can from Total Wine McLean. Pours brown with very little head. Slight caramel note on the nose. Not much on the tongue. Thin mouthfeel. Small hint of bitterness on the finish. Meh!
2.5 Can. Reddish copper with creamy cream head with good retention and no real lacing. Smells like white bread. Not hugely flavorful- kind of neutral with a hint of sour. Faintly sweet finish, a little watery.
4.0 From the can poured a nice, dark amber brew with a creamy, light tan head. Well balanced flavors and aromas of malt and hops. Full bodied and delicious.
2.6 The aroma is papery and malty with a toasted quality. The appearance is deep amber with a nitro head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall it’s an average beer.
2.9 Can courtesy if Greg after an exhaustive search at Paradiso Dupont, thank you sir! Clear amber color, scant white head. Aroma of burnt and slightly s smokey caramel. Taste is sweet caramel syrup, bitter finish. Not bad.
3.5 Gift from SJ. I enjoyed this bitter. Some interesting points. A good blend of nut, dry hop, bitterness, bread and smoke. Its finish was sweet, but not overly.
2.8 Pour from a 14.9 oz can. Clear reddish brown brew with almost no head. Aroma of toasted malts and a bit of yeasty sour. Taste is lightly roasted grains, a bit of toast, a little sweet malt. Watery palate but very refreshing, leaving the mouth feeling clean.
2.8 Can. Poured a medium amber with a creamy, medium-sized head. Aroma and flavor were mild: some toffee, nuts, mildly malty, some earthy hops. Light mouthfeel. Good, I suppose, for such a low alcohol entry. I expected more.
1.8 Draft: Body odor smell. Crystal clear chestnut, medium off white head. Mildly nutty, but somewhat like dishwater. Thin and watery.
2.9 Amber colour with a tan head. Toffee and fruity nose. Mild flavour with toffee, hopps and a moderate fruitiness. A bit flat carbonation on can. [Can from Liverpool, England]
2.6 From can. Light brown pour, no real head. Malt on the nose, and maybe a handful of dark fruit. Slightly bitter across the tongue, but it seems more from the carbonation than hops. Thin finish, with a slight hop bitterness. I expected more.
2.8 The head is ok , the body brown. It is bitter, creamy, herb-bitter, and just a little bit watery. => Overall ok! 11/6/6/6/8/6
3.5 Low alcohol bitter... doesn’t really deserve to be in the same category of others. Carbonation is high, and creamy. Bubbles stuck to the side of the glass. Smell is weak toffee, carbonation, barnyard funk aroma. Moutfeel is decrepit. Taste is slightly roast, mostly toffee flavors with a thin body. High carbonation. No real presence of hops, just a slightly bitter finish. Overall clean hidden yeast, also, not the usu.. old world brewing heavy on the honey flavors. Exactly what I would be looking for on a hot summer day, with more flavor depth than a lager. Enjoyability 4/5.
3.4 440ml can. Pours dark amber with a thin wispy white head. Notes of sweet caramelized malt, chewy raisins, wood, toffee, nuts and resinous dates. Medium bodied, lightly sticky with soft carbonation. Enjoyable, but not exceptional.
2.9 TAP: Brown pour. Light aroma and flavor. Taste is sweet malt, sour dough, brown sugar, and chocolate.
2.4 Pours an light amber color with an off white head. Aroma is of hops that are slightly floral, along with some sweet malt. Flavor is basically the same, and has a rather weak and muted taste. Body is light and slightly watery. Overall an ok Bitter but not worth picking up again.
2.4 sampled at azwine 11/10/11. brownish copper with a scant ow head. a+f= watery iced tea, orange, twigs, some choco, faint caramel, mild spiciness and a faint bitterness on the finish. no carbonation. horrible mouth feel
3.0 Savannah, Ga - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 440 ml can. Iced tea looking pour, very light head. Pretty much of a neutral aroma - hint of bittersweet chocolate. Nice mellow bittersweet flavor with subtle chocolate notes, some strong tea, and a hint of licorice. Appropriate mouthfeel for a bitter. Good session material.
2.6 Can. After waiting an eternity for a single (a 4-pack costs $10 at Spec’s), my patience was rewarded in Austin, as I bought a single for $1.50. Thank goodness I only bought one... Aroma is wet autumn leaves soaked in dank maple syrup and wet biscuits. Flavor is coppery malt and stale biscuit. Pours an average tea brown, by the way. Watery mouthfeel. Good thang I only spent $1.50 on one.
2.5 Dark golden with a good sized off-white head. Aroma is mine rally, like children’s play sand and sawdust, light vinegar, and a hint of roasted malts. Taste is of grain, light woody hops, and slightly roasty. Creamy mouthfeel.
2.4 Copper colored, a little apple cider vinegar, minerals, some hops, and malts. A little weird roast chocolate thing going on that is not as pleasant. Taste is roast, some hop background bitterness, and ok.
3.0 Total Wine & More, Chantilly 14.0oz can ($1.50): Pours a brownish colour with a creamy head. Aroma is mostly caramel malt with some hops. Taste is slightly metallic with a bunch of caramel malt. A small amount of hop bitterness is present. Easy drinking and it has a nice mouthfeel, but as a beer in total, it ain’t that great.
