1.0 Total shit IPA, compared to everything else out there it’s garbage, doesn’t even taste like an IPA
3.2 Dumpf malzig hopfiger Beginn. Geringe Würzigkeit, mild bitter-grasig. Vollmundig, gut. 11/10/10/10/9/11
3.6 355ml can at home. Pale orange with a medium white soapy head. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Nice bitter and subtle sweet tones. Caramel, pine, malts, some rye and fruit. Nice.
3.8 This is an outstanding little Lager. Crisp refreshing and low abv so although I'm having it for the first time at a beer bar, I picture myself drinking copious amounts of this beer at a summer cookout. Wonderful.
3.5 Pours clear orange with a white head. Aroma is floral and pine. Taste is medium bitter and medium sweet
3.7 Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a golden amber color with a small head of white foam. The head has a decent level of retention fading to leave a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the brew is strongest of a bready smell mixed with some aromas of grapefruit and grassy hops. Along with these aromas comes some sweeter caramel and a little bit of melon smell. Taste – The taste begins very bready with a rather strong showing of a caramel sweetness as well as a decent grapefruit hop. As the taste advances some sweeter fruit tastes of a tropical fruit nature (tangerine, mango, and papaya) take the place of the caramel sweetness with even more hop of a grapefruit nature coming to the tongue and being joined by a little bit of grass and herb. At the end some tastes of pine and earth join the hop profile and leave one with a rather malty, but hop balanced taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side with a carbonation level that is average as well. For the nice mix of hop and malty flavors the feel is quite nice and creates a rather pleasant feel that accentuates the qualities of the brew well. Overall – A rather tasty IPA overall. Nothing that will blow your mind, but overall very tasty and balanced even in light of its more malty body.
3.9 Can. Pours deep golden with a great head, thick, rocky and white. Quite a bit of malt in the aroma, caramel and nuts. Also hops, pine and some grapefruit. Nice palate, medium body and carbonation, long bitter finish. Predominantly bitter, a lot of pine in the flavour and some malty sweetness. I like this beer a lot.
3.4 Clear copper pour with nice white head and good lace. Nose of tropical fruits, citrus, and caramel. Flavor is much the same with a touch of spice. Nice bitter finish.
3.8 Aroma: Medium aroma of malts, caramel, pine and hops. Appearance: Turbid/opaque orange/brown beer with a slight/medium beige head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel and pine; ends slightly bitter with hops. Overall: This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Centennial and malts are what define this beer, but it tastes great and the palate is creamy.
3.4 wanna be like a family of sloth’s .. . on draft .. orange amber .. firm head, lots of lacing .. . resin, citrus, grapefruit, more resin .. . mouth is average, soft warm carbonation. . pretty good for caldera .. . . i could use a pressed sandwich right about now
3.7 12fl oz can. 28-08-2015. Courtesy of Javiificould. BBD:04-2016. In short: bitter resinous ale. Pours hazy amber with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, little lacing. Malty, DMS nose. Medium body, average carbonation, crispy texture. Bitter and some dry aftertaste.
3.5 12 fl.oz can. Pours clear deep amber colour with a huge good lasting beige head. aroma of spruce, mild bitter hops, apricot. Taste of intense bitter hops, spruce, zest, apricot, long medium bitter finish.
3.4 Can. Pours amber with off white head. Aroma is sweet malty caramel hops. Taste is sweet honey burnt sugar/caramel grapefruit piney with sweet piney finish. It’s pretty balanced and good but just not my preferred style.
3.5 Caldera hopportunity knocks On tap at Imazato with a burger. The aroma is big citrus while the taste is malty biscuit and bitter citrus/pine. A solid IPA but not all that special.
3.8 Can from Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte - BE. Color: clear amber beer with no carbonation and medium white foam. Smell: resin domination, very high pine notes. Caramel balanced. Not so fruity. Taste: full body with caramel and resin attack. Very high pine presence. Intensive taste. Good attenuation with sweet caramel finish. Very nice beer. Aftertaste: resin and pine. High bitterness and caramel. Really nice pine IPA. I like it.
4.1 Canshare @ Basement Beer Bar, Aalborg. Thanks Mats! Canned 1 year ago. Aroma of tropical fruits, citrus, caramel. Hazy amber colour with white head, lasting. Taste is moderate bitter and light+ sweet. Full body, oily texture, avg. carb., bitter and fruity finish.
3.6 Can from Whole Foods Arlington VA. Presumably a nice golden body with an inviting head. Nice nose of hops, citrus and wheat. Taste is also lots of hops, some citrus, and nice wheaty notes. Really good.
3.7 Can. Orange unclear. Very sweet aroma of floral and fruit nectar, good hops and malt. Taste: fruit and citrus nectar, candy, nice hop bitterness.
4.1 Deep amber, moderate nice head. Aroma of nectar, tropical fruit, melon, mighty. Medium body. Thick texture. Massive fruity & nectary taste with big amount of hoppy resiny bitterness. Very good. -- rated with beerbasher/winphone
2.3 650 mL bottle poured into a pint glass. Originally reviewed 6/1/2011. Pours a murky amber with a sizable head. Lacing is minimal once the head dissipates. Doesn’t look bad. Some citrus hops in the nose. Not overwhelming. There’s a background smell that reminds me of homebrew. Like a musty smell. Taste is initially hoppy, but not all that hoppy. Behind that is a nutty maltiness, maybe with a hint of spiciness. Finally, however, is an awful grassy bitterness that renders the beer just about undrinkable. It coats the mouth and doesn’t go away. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. After the hops and malt it dries out quickly, leaving the bitterness just hanging. It emphasizes the awful flavor. The first half of the flavor is decent, but the finish is very bad. My brother-in-law and I both drainpoured our glasses once I finished the review.
3.0 Can to tulip. Crystal clear resin amber with an off white enduring head. Nose was fairly vacant for an IPA. Long before the 8/8/16 expiration. Palate is dry crisp hop. Saltine cracker in there somewhere coming from the malts. Finish has a little sweet hit, but the dry hop keeps running over. Finish hits in the back roof of my mouth with a little lemon hit. I don’t get it.
3.7 Bottle @ benzai. Very clear amber colour woth a medium to large sized off-white head. Smells dreft, hops, bellenblaas, fresh. Tastes hops, fresh, grassy, bitter, tea, green tea. Medium body, nice carbo, crisp. Not much different from the IPA in the can.. Don’t remember the exact name.
3.1 Light brown colour. Very strong aroma or resinous hops. Strong taste that is bitter but also has a sticky, syrupy note. A bit dull for its heavy flavour.
3.4 12 oz can (canning date of June 2015) served in a lager glass. A: moderate off-white head over a hazy copper body. Some sticky lacing. Surprisingly malty aroma but then this can is a bit older than optimal for style. More hops are evident upon tasting. Mild-medium bitterness. Feel: Medium body with medium carbonation.
3.2 from can, deep darker orange to amber colour with a eggshell white head. nose is big west coast resin hop notes, tangerine, pine, and caramel malts. slightly citrus, sweet caramel, strong hop bitterness.
3.4 From can. Pours a copper-amber, slightly hazy, finger of strong fluffy head, sticky lacing. Aroma is very dank, pine, citrus, nice malt sweetness. Taste follows suit, a touch unbalanced, more pine than I would like, that dank resiny type, citrus feels a bit muted. It’s not as refreshing as it should be, more bitter than it needs to be, citrus feel builds over time which is good. I’ll stick with Caldera IPA, it does the job a lot better.
3.3 Bottle from Beers of the World, Henrietta. Sweet fruity aroma. Bitter, citrusy, and floral taste.
3.8 Rating #1643 - #CBC2015 Beer 28 - Day 3 - Sample from can. Clear golden amber pour with a weak, white head that bubbles away to a ring. Aroma is strong with Centennial overtones - big citrus/pine presence., Taste is more of the same, dry, spicy hops and doughy malts dominating the flavour, with a dose of pink grapefruit sweetness sure to last. Lovely
3.2 Can: Tea and marigold bouquet, rosehips possible. Cloudy copper, medium yellow head, beautiful lacing. Tea, orange peel, vegetal overtones. Medium body, moderate carbonation.
3.7 Can from Messrs Barley Malt & Hops, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is woody, resin hop, big citrus. The flavour is moderate bitter with a soft refreshing fruity hop bitter, light toffee caramel palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
