Aroma is chocolate syrup, toffee, roasted malts, light ash. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is chocolate syrup and vanilla, rich chocolate. Quite sweet but I don’t think it lacks balance. 3.9 Bottle I got from Dan for Christmas last year. We had it while making Christmas cookies this year with Dan and Erica. It was nice to pair Eggnog with it. - 2015. Pours dark black, small tan head, dissipates fairly slowly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is pretty much all chocolate. Flavor is the same, huge chocolate, not much else. Medium sweet, light plus bitter, chocolate and roasted malt. Medium body.
3.5 Pours barely translucent chocolate brown with a light tan head. Aroma features caramel, toasted malt, molasses, and subtle cinnamon notes. Flavor offers molasses, toasted malt and caramel tones. Body is a bit thin, but fizz is good. Woof!

4.2 Bottle from Bacchanalia, drunk at home. Dark brown with a wispy cream/khaki head. Intense chocolate fudge, strong peanut notes, boast coffee, a hint of yeast extract. Ambrosial sweet taste with a boozy kick. Lots of chocolate and a hint of woodsmoke. Hop bitterness very detectable in the. Finish. Nice balance. Eggy French vanilla, hot fudge and earthy hop notes round out the aftertaste. I am so glad we found each other.

3.9 Bottle @cgarvieuk. Speedway tasting (Dec 2015) [Rating Backlog] Pours black almost no head but some slight off white bubbles. Nose is big chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla and coconut. Taste is more of the same but its huge overpowering milk chocolate, its also a tad thin.
3.8 Pours a dark reddish brown. Nose is awesome - reminds me of the egg creams that my grandfather used to make. Carries through on the taste - egg cream, chocolate. Not the smoothest beer from start to finish, but good.
3.6 A: Deep brown coloured with a 2 finger light brown head that dissapates fast N: Milk chocolate, oak, vanilla T: Milk chocolate, vanilla, hint of oak O: Smells delicious, but the flavours was less impressing. Still quite nice!
4.8 1pt 6oz bottle at home - pours black with a quickly disappearing light tan colored head - smells of bourbon arm chocolate - tastes like heaven
4.6 Incredibly deep chocolate notes almost impart the texture of a chocolate bar. The body carries enough notes on the finish to make this an incredibly interesting drink all the day to the bottom of the glass.

4.0 Smoky, chocolatey nose, with some coffee & vanilla. Medium sweet with a well-balanced bitterness, slight saltiness. Subtle cherry-raisin notes. Flavors soften and blend as it warms up and breathes. Medium-full, oily-creamy mouth feel. Bitter, slightly astringent finish, but with no harshness. Many flavor notes, but well blended. Excellent sipping beer, and at 8.5% not over-alcoholic.
3.8 (Caldera Mogli) Bottle 650 ml at home, white wax, served into a snifter, ABV 8.5% Dark brown colour on the body, almost totally black. Head on top is thick, a little bit lower than one finger, dark beige in colour. Quite good retention. Plenty of milky chocolate on the aroma, vanilla, light bourbon. Taste follows, lots of vanilla, chocolate, cocoa, light bourbon which I’d like more pronounced, light oak every now and then. Medium to thick bod, carbonation on the right levels, smooth on the palare and very drinkable. Very good, doesn’t justify the premium price though.
4.1 Very great imperial porter. Aroma is very complex. Chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut, woody, dark malts. High carb, medium full bodied. No alcohol caught, vanilla, bourbon, sweet, balanced, awesome.
4.3 Bomber poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of milk chocolate, vanilla, mocha, light roastiness and a hint of bourbon. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, mocha, light vanilla and light roastiness with a smooth lingering milk chocolate finish.
4.0 Opaque dark brown/black beer with slight yeast and with a slight beige head. Medium aroma; taste starts medium/heavy sweet and ends slightly bitter and dry. Wood, bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, mocha and roasted malts. 7/5/8/4
4.3 Bottle... This beer rocks!... Pours clear and dark brown with a small, mushroom-colored head. Decent retention. The aroma is a delight - milk chocolate and vanilla with undercurrents of hazelnuts, cola nuts and sassafras root. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is very roasty and bitter, but also features a fantastic marriage of simmered chocolate milk and dark, luxuriant chocolate crème. Trends a little too bitter and carbonic for my taste, but damn this lives up to the billing!
4.4 Bottle shared with friends at a weekend tasting. Thick dark brown pour. Aroma dominated by milk chocolate, with notes of vanilla, oak, bourbon. The taste follows the same notes, very heavy on the chocolate. Excellent beer.
3.9 Bottle at Craigs. Pours deep dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of rich chocolate, vanilla, biscuit. Taste is cocoa, sweet sugar. Chocolate on the finish. Full of chocolate.
