3.8 Appearance: jet black, slight tan head Aroma: vanilla, marmite, roast malt, coffee Mouthfeel: full mouthfeel. Low carbonation Taste: thick, rich roasted malts. Coffee. Chocolate. Roast malt aftertaste. Not very bitter Overall: great stout to sip and enjoy slowly
4.0 Piwo czarne, z beżową obfitą pianą. W aromacie czekolada, sos sojowy, praliny, kakao. W smaku kawa, gorzka czekolada, pralinki, rodzynki.
5.0 New favorite. Like drinking candy. Hints of licorice, chocolate, roasted barley, and coffee. Very easy to drink. Super dangerous. Just rode a train one and a half hours for another pint. Back to work...
3.9 Backlog, ocena przepisana z untappd, w ramach uzupełniania profilu na ratebeer. Fajny Imperial Stout, sporo ciała, bogata słodowość.
4.2 Aroma: Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, molasses, mocha, roasted malts and coffee. Appearance: Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown/dark brown head. Taste/Palate: Starts medium/heavy sweet with malta, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, molasses and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee. Overall: This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Great sweet start with loads of dark fruit and chocolate. The finish has a decent amount of roasted malts and coffee as well. Nothing wrong with this beer at all.
3.7 Bottle at craig?s. Pours black, nose is chocolate, sugary, toffee, coffee, taste is sweet, liquorice, roasted, chocolate.
3.8 bottle at home .. dark black ... massive tan head ... dark chocolate malt nose .. heavy roast malts ... soft sweet toffee chocolate roast .. heavy sweet chocolate .. juicy malts
3.7 650ml bottle shared with brother, thanks for the share. Aroma: woody, chocolaty with coffee, licorice and roasted, ashed finish. App: dark brown, minimal mocha head leaving little lacing. Taste and palate: full body, coffee with medium bitter finish. Much licorice. Overall: good. Maybe too much licorice. Good mouthfeel. A bit watery but with a good alcohol finish.
4.1 Wielokrotnie nagradzane na całym świecie piwo to aromatyczny majstersztyk - intensywna, mocno palona kawa, mleczna czekolada, toffi i lukrecja. W smaku solidne palenie, ciemne owoce, figi i wyraźna wanilia.
4.2 Pours an opaque dark brown color with khaki colored head. Roasted malt, chocolate, earthiness, and some leather on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied. Finishes with chocolate and roast.
4.1 Bottle shared at the Midlands Tasting Group. Black beer with small tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is chocolate, coffee, roast malts, licorice and dark fruits. Very good.
3.9 Bottle @ MTG II tasting at Rich’s Welfare Pad. Pours very dark brown, tan head. Aroma is musty cocoa. Taste brings nice grainy cocoa alongside a good full-bodied imperial stout character, some liquorice. Tasty.
3.9 Bottle from Beer Gonzo shared during Midlands Tasting Group at Rich’s Welfare pad; dark brown pour with a thin tan, aroma has coffee and chocolate, taste has coffee, dark fruits, some plain chocolate, liquorice, smooth mouthfeel.
3.9 Bottle shared at home. Very dark ruby-brown pour with a tall tan head with decent retention, that eventually gives way to a sticky lacing. Notes of roasted malts, smoke, dark chocolate, cocoa, molasses. Medium to full bodied, low carbonation and a roasty bitter-sweet finish.
3.9 Bottled. Pours hazy deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and licorice notes. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry and slightly bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. An excellent Impy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
4.5 taste of roasted malt dominates and gives this beer its character, balanced by chocolate and sweet fruits tastes, well balanced, not very dense, quite drinkable for this style
3.8 Bottle a black colored beer with a beige head aroma roasted malts spicy laurel smoke fruits citrus oak and bitter hops flavor roasted malts spicy citrus fruits spicy laurel smoke oak and bitter hops
4.1 Bottle. Thx Madmitch. This one pours opaque black with a dense creamy brown head. Amazing curtains. But sweet and hard roasted aroma with coffee and licorice notes. Long roasted malty flavor. Bitter roast and little charcoal. Licorice and light coffee. Smooth velvety texture. Nice one.
4.0 Bottle 65cl / Botella 65cl. @ The Beer Garden Store, Madrid, España. A: Black / Negro. T/S: Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, sweet / Malta tostada, chocolate, cafe, dulce.
3.9 Aromat: wyraźna czekolada i to w wielu postaciach, likier, owoce w likierze, alkohol obecny aczkolwiek stonowany i przyjemny. Następnie kakao, kawa zbożowa, karmel, lukrecja, trochę igieł czy ziół. Niewiele zabrakło do idealnego stoutu. Goryczka raczej słodowa, drażniąca i zbyt długa. Krągła do tęgiej pełnia, umiarkowane do niskiego wysycenie i lekko oleista konsystencja. Finisz z gorzkiej czekolady i kakao z udziałem alkoholu lekko rozgrzewającego przełyk.
3.7 Rather stable, rust-coloured head over black beer. Rust, slag, sweet-burnt, coffee, mocha, café noir cookies. Sourish, stout flavour at first, then going to burnt-bitter, with some covert sweet malt undertones. Obviously well-bodied, slick and rich. Good carbonation. Myeah... Old Growth? I’d be tempted to speak about Déjà vu....
4.0 Bottle. A roasted, dark, thick stout. Semi-sweet chocolate, dark malts without much room to breathe out of the thickness but very smooth. Not much need to. It’s really good.
4.1 Chocolate, coffee and some roastiness in aroma. Pours black with perfect tan head. Taste is medium sweet, again chocolate and coffee predominate. Bitterness is medium, herbal, body is medium to full. Overall well done Impy.
3.7 Black, great head. Aroma: caramel, soy sauce, licorice. Medium to heavy sweetnes, light to medium body. Sweet, but not to sweet. Roasty finish.
3.6 Bottle. Black with a large brown head with good retention and lace. Nose has coffee, cocoa, roasted malt, charcoal. Flavour follows; dark chocolate, roasted malt, wood, light chalk, vanilla. I don’t know about that liquorice, but it’s there, I guess. Some flowers, honey and citrus. Medium body, soft on the palate, filling sweetness and firm but not raw bitterness. Long dry finish with dark malts. Easy going.
4.1 Bottle. Pours opaque black, medium tan head, decent lacing. Aroma roasty, anise, molasses, cocoa. Flavor is light sweet, full bitter, anise, roast. Medium plus body.
3.9 Thanks to gregwilsonstl for sharing this nice imperial stout. Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has deep roast, dark chocolate, vanilla and light bourbon. It has a full body with a light amoutnt of carbonation. The flavor starts off with roast, dark fruits, figs, licorice and booze. Thje finish has some dark caramel added and more alcohol warmth. Good.
4.1 Black colour, beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, licorice, toffee. Taste is medium sweet, light bitter. Chocolate and coffee flavour. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.
3.8 Not the chocolate and coffee centric beer I was hoping for w a stout, but to be fair, my palate has been killed by hop bombs and a barrel bomb. Thx Ibrew2or3.
