3.8 2004-06-12, bottle, Scotland AP: copper colored body, lasting white head AR/F: hops, citrus, toffee, malt
2.1 Really about as boring a beer as you can get without going into the dreaded pale lager territory. The aroma light honey and pears. A clear golden body with a scant white scummy head. Flavor was mostly a bready/yeast combo with a very light fruit extract kind of flavor. Reminds me of many American organic blonde ales. Bleh.
3.0 Cloudy orange-yellow pour with a white head. Aroma of lightly seet fragrance. Mellow tasting, low carbonation. Little sweet at the end. At least it had nice lacing.
2.6 Gold pour. Lots of malt in this one. Caramel and biscuits in the aroma. Flavor is lightly fruity mostly dominated by caramel malt. Not so good.
2.9 Bottle from Sainsbury’s. Golden colour, white head. Aroma of caramel malts and some hops. Flavour has caramel malts, some fruits. Slightly bitter finish.
3.8 This was a great true organic beer with the sediment still around in the bottom of the bottle. It reminded me of Newcastle from time to time. Nice sweet taste, very easy to drink in a 500ml bottle.
3.6 500ml Bottle at home 03/09/2007 Fruit and floral aromas. Thick white head. Golden coloured smooth on the palate and fruity with a lasting slightly roasted full malt finish.
2.7 Bottle. Pours darker golden, floral - honey nose. Sweet and malty, honey comes through quickly, but also summer fruits. A little sticky.
3.3 a well balanced ale that is delicious and fruity in flavor and medium bodied. it pours cloudy orange w/ a beige layer of creamy white head, it has slightly citrusy aroma, very tasty.
3.1 Nice dark orange-yellow with a thin but lasting sticky white head. Lightly fruity, sweet malt aroma, apples and florals. Taste is an almost rye like spicy maltiness with more fruit and a hidden light toffee.
2.7 Bottle. Pours a golden orange body with a white head. Nice hop floral aroma with a light earthiness about it. Malt is a very thin body and a light citrus accent. A note of cardboard or wet paper just not very good.
2.1 Stale aromas cidery sweet and slightly sour aromas. Pours blonde with a white head that doesn’t last long. Cidery stale flavor, bready malts with a sourdough quality, hops are barely noticable. Not much going on here.
3.1 This hazy golden beer poured with a thick off-white head and a floral aroma. There is a sweet bready malt flavor with a more bitter hop finish. This is a good though unremarkable brew.
2.4 500ml bottle bought at Luvians in St Andrews. Clear golden body with a white lacing-head. Light aroma of pale malts. Sweet fruit-malty taste receiving a spicy touch towards the ending. Short tail. Lively carbonated [31.10.2008].
2.8 Sampled 11/14/08. This blond/golden ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 500ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is malty, bready and sweet. A medium bodied golden ale. The malts are bready and grainy, touch of cookie. The hops are earthy and floral. Good carbonation. A touch sweet, but there is just enough hops bitterness to balance. Kind of has that apple juice/tea thing going on here as well. Drinkable beer, but kind of boring. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
3.4 bottle: pours a very clean golden honey coloour with a large just off white head. decent lacing. aroma is malt pale malt slight hops but not many and some fresh stone fruit. the flavour is very flowery with the pale malts and slight apricot, not to bad easy drinking.
3.0 Bottle, 500 ml. Malt and hops on the nose, and rounded with yeast on the palate. Quite light to the taste, but flavoursome, despite a short-lived/non-existent head.
2.6 Hazy and luminescent with really thick white head. Aroma of pressed flowers, talcum powder, custard apple in the distance. Aftertaste slightly tart, fruity. Tangy finish suggests some oxidation of this bottle.
3.0 Cloudy golden. Fast head. Mild honey aroma. Flavor: Sweet bread, fruit, honey, grassy hops. Dry bitter-sweet finish.
3.0 Hazy orange with no head. Juiced malts, berry, mocha toffee and dried fruit to smell. Juicy body and caramel, chocolate flavors coupled with berry and fruit qualities. Overall the palate was a little thin and the brwe didnt come together all that well. Note: This brew improved dramatically as it warmed.
2.8 Appearance: Golden. Nice amount of head, shortlived. Aroma: Fruits and flowers. Nectar/Honey. Taste: Fruit, hops, malt. Bitter. Info: 500ml bottle, 26/6-2006, 130/300
3.3 Aroma of herbal floral hops. Gold with modest cream color head. Good lacings. Sweet malts with mild bitter hop profile. Good balance. Good blonde.
3.1 Bottle. Pours a cloudy orangish amber with a white head. Strong aroma of sweet caramel malt along with a mild hop spice. Flavor is mild caramel sweetness with a little bit of a hop aftertaste and a light fruit accent. Not Bad.
2.9 A golden ale with a thin white head, big bubbled and frothy. In. aroma, biscuits and honey malt, a bit mineral. In mouth, very decent hoppiness for a blond ale, with light residual sugar, light citrus, medium bodied. Very run of the mill. Bought at Booze Bros, Reno, NV, August 2007.
2.9 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Mild mouldy malt and light bitterhops aroma, vague citrusy note. Flavour is sweet and mild mouldy malt. Light fruity touch to it with a light bitterness into the finish.
2.8 Pours a golden color with a nice white head. The nose is light with a definite maltiness. NIce round maltiness on the palate. Finishes clean. Not much to it but not bad.
2.8 50cl from Willow Bend Liquors (Florida). Pours a cloudy dark golden with a thin white head that gracefully laces the glass. Aroma: faint hints of honey, bread, yeast, some faint spices. Watery mouthfeel with a very odd collection of flavors. Hints of honey, caramel but no really strong flavors. Has a slightly sticky, bready aftertaste.
2.1 bottle - Pours hazy dull gold with a very thin head and not much carbonation. Old bottle? I bought it very recently, but I couldn’t find a date on it, so who knows. The aroma is yeasty malt. The flavor is sweet malt that’s very recognizable as an English malt. It reminded me of a much lighter version of the strong cellar ready English ales like Thomas Hardy or JW Lees Harvest right down to the minimal carbonation. Of course this one isn’t as good either. The flatness (in both carbonation and flavor) and the almost cloying sweetness definitely didn’t do it for me. Very disappointing.
3.4 Okay then. We’ve got ourselves a vegan friendly beer here. Organic, of course. I love the cap too. Definitely a keeper. Pours a foggy gold. No lasting head after a quick hit of some, but nice lacing on the top before I have taken a sip. Nose is odd. Woody and oddly antiseptic. Kind of the character I have pulled off some lambics, but never an EPA. Weird. Flavor is okay. Kind of tastes like wet wood, but not in a good way. Seems almost cask-ish, but no real level of maturity that a cask could deliver. Hmmm. I get a touch of vanilla all of the sudden. Feel has a decent but fairly low carbonation to it. The liquid feel is not very good. Overall this is just an okay ale. Sure it might go over well with the less informed vegans, but for real ale lovers, I doubt this is going to make an impact. If you pass on this one, don’t feel bad.
