Camden Town Camden Hells Lager

Camden Town Camden Hells Lager

Keg & Bottle;
Helles and Pilsner combine – the pale, crisp body of Pils with the gentle hop profile of Helles. It’s pale gold, refined, elegant and dry. Soft biscuity malt, a light lemony, peppery hop character and the sort of bitterness which quenches and never overpowers. Matured for a long time in tank, it’s how a great lager should taste.

3.1 Tap at a pub in London near Olympia - clear golden color, white head. So this is a cross between a pils and a hell? Somebody should have told me before, so I would have paid more attention. It was drinkable, crisp, a good lager I‘d said. Will try again.
2.9 Drinkable, light tasting slightly hoppy and crisp brew. Nicely dry aftertaste, moreish. Bit watery,
2.7 Aroma and taste of malt, hops and yeast. Good bitterness that fills the whole mouth for a long time. Good beer.
3.1 Average, slightly hoppy beer
3.6 Pint in the local pub, clear yellow pour with a very small head. Lightly carbonated with a hint of citrus. Expected flavours for a lager with a bit of sweetness (cake?). Crisp finish. Quite sessionable.
3.6 Pours clear yellow with moderate head and lacing. Light nuttiness and citrus, crisp malts, very fine and refreshing taste. Good carbonation and light bodied. Probably the best plain lager I've tried
3.6 1. On Tap at Southampton Arms, Kentish Town 31/07/2011 Floral hop aroma. Some carbonation. Clear golden coloured hoppy pale and smooth on the palate with a hint of dryness in a crisp and creamy malt finish. 2. On Tap at Refinery, Liverpool 12/02/2022 Floral hop aroma. Small white head. Clear golden coloured and hoppy with a hint of bitterness in a crisp and slightly dry malt finish.
2.9 Can shared with ITFCDan. Aroma of straw, citrus, malt and grain. Taste is slightly metallic and very carbonated. Very drinkable
2.8 Pours a clear, bright yellow-gold with minimal head and moderate to high carbonation. Fresh grassy, straw aroma with citrus peel as expected with the classic hops. Solid malty base with sweet biscuit, lemon and a touch of floral notes. Palate is clean, crisp with lemon zip on the long finish.
3.1 A very refreshing, somewhat basic but certainly a step up from your standard lager.
1.8 Hells
2.1 Refined and elegant? Maybe once, but the can I sampled last night was nothing compared to the taste of it in the pub a few years back. Very little aroma, basically zero hop character and only a shred of bitterness towards the bottom of the glass, otherwise only slightly differentiated from its parent Stella by a slightly higher carbonation. What a disappointment. Don't buy.
3.7 Bready. Grainy. Light floral. Mild hops. Citrusy touch. Medium bitterness. Crisp.
3.4 With good balance of sweetness and bitterness and quite highly carbonated. Smooth, light, drinkable, but not something special. I can see and understand the appeal for the masses
3.7 Aroma: lots of hops, grassy, lemon Appearance: light golden, opaque Taste: hoppy, caramel dry finish Mouthfeel: Surprisingly smooth mouthfeel with medium carbonation.
2.8 Can only echo the previous review. A little too much carbonation for my liking although not too unpleasant just ok. Mine poured from a bottle with no head at all. Maybe I over chilled it.
2.8 33 cl can (BBD 2020-11-15), bought from the Co-Op, drunk at home 2020-11-14. Appearance is a basically clear straw with a thick white head that dissipates relatively quickly. Barest touch of visible carbonation. That's a lager - I'd like a little more carb but in all honesty, I prefer this appearance to a fizzy drink from a typical macro keg. Aroma is pretty classic lager - some grain, some bready malts, some lemony notes. Fine - nothing revolutionary, nothing unpleasant. Taste is pretty similar. Lemony floral up front, with some dry bitterness coming through before a slightly surprising honey sweet note at the end. Don't know why the honey's there, but it doesn't really hurt it as it's reasonably well balanced. Little more depth (urgh) would be nice though. Palate is fine. Light-medium bodied, quite clean and full, maybe a touch watery? Touch of in-mouth carbonation and a moderate length finish. Overall, this is a perfectly acceptable lager in every sense. It's not going to light any worlds on fire, but it's also not going to offend anyone. Just enough flavour to keep from being dull, not enough that you're going to want to chase it up anywhere particularly.

3.1 Pours yellow with a frothy lager head. Slight malt, hay-like aroma. Crisp, light citrus, with slight hoppiness and a pleasant mouthfeel.
4.3 A really pleasant pale ale, pours amber, hints of tropical fruit and biscuits, there's a slight bitterness I enjoy ,its not overtly sweet, a proper session beer for me ,the type of pale ale I love.
3.5 Belle blonde gentille et amère, belles bulles
3.2 Camden Town Hells Lager 4.6%. Golden, pale malt aroma, light bodied, pale malt, biscuit, hint of lemon. Pleasant Helles Lager from London 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
3.9 Really enjoyable larger, thin white head golden white colour
4.3 Very tasty. Golden colour with a nice head. 330ml cans poured into a pint tankered. Gift from a friend, really enjoyed.
Bulles fines . Au nez, blé , citron . Note herbal.
3.7 From Tesco Ilfracombe
3.9 Nice pour. Nice head. Not a distinctive flavour but that is part of its drinkability. I like it.
