Cameron's Ambear

Cameron's Ambear

The wild black bear has a lot in common with our Ambear Red Ale. Both are complex, intelligent and incredibly unique. This West Coast style ale uses caramel malt and citrusy Cascade mountain hops to create layers of delicious depth. Enjoy the generous hop aroma and smooth maltiness, followed by a tasty finish.

3.8 Rather a dark amber , kind of sweet kind of tart , allround tasty though. There is a unusual mix of flavours here, not in a bad way just unique. A soft fluffy head and a dark (maple syrup) colour Nice work Cameron’s once again
3.6 473ml can. Pours a reddish tinged amber with a good sized LIGHT beige head. On the nose, caramel, a light vegetal note (green beans), biscuity malt aromas, and faint resinous hops. Taste; caramel, plenty of full malt notes on display, with light mineral and resinous notes up front that lead into a thinner biscuity, almost bran-like malt note, light caramel, light bitterness and some fruitiness in the finish. I like it. It’s been a long while since I have had a session ale that clearly didn’t skimp on the malt. Thumbs up. A definite repeat purchase.
3.6 Can from the LCBO. Dark reddish amber pour with a large long lasting off white head that leaves a ton of lace. Nose is caramel, some dark fruit along with light grass and citrus. Light+ sweet caramel and honey with a corresponding citrus bitterness along with some roasted nuts. Mouth is medium and creamy with average carbonation and a light bitter finish. Glad i picked up a can to try. 7/4-/7-/4-/14
3.3 0.341 bottle. Clear, brown color and a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of dark malts, fruits like bananas and peaches, and some compote. Taste is sweet and sour, fruity, malty, simple. Medium body, slick texture, and an almost flat carbonation. Finish is medium long, mostly fruity, somewhat grainy, and malty. Overall not a bad beer, not an outstanding one but drinkable and pleasant.
2.7 Draft - Light toast, caramel and vegetal notes. Clear Amber with a decent white head. Light breads notes, light grain and caramel. Meh.
5.0 I really like amber beers. This one did not disappoint. I really am starting to enjoy the Canadian craft beer scene
3.6 Great colour... has slight smokey taste that lingers on the palate. Great drinkability, would be nice for a day on the porch
2.2 On tap. Pours a clear caramel with a half finger, off white head that coats the glass. Aroma has slight notes of caramel and malts and not much else. Taste is on the bitter side with not any great flavours. Overall not that good. Wouldn’t order again.
3.2 Pours a darker brown than what I would describe as a amber, think more maple syrup. Clear with a finger or so of head. Really pleasant smell with this, cereal, a little toastiness and caramel, and a little vanilla. Taste of bready malt, some sweetness, a little bitterness that lingers. A simple beer but not a bad one.
2.4 Aroma is caramel, sweet roasty malts. Quite creamy. Taste is sweet malts with a fairly bitter yet bland finish. Tarty aftertaste Appearance is a clear copper with a pearl head that retains fairly.
3.0 Scent of malt, yeast, and caramel. Clear amber colour. Flavours of malt, brown sugar, and biscuit. Medium body with mild carbonation. Pleasant to sip on, but not terrible interesting
2.8 Bottle. Amber pour with a nice medium head, some lacing. Aroma is malty, caramel, bread some hop notes. Taste is malty, some caramel, nuts. Medium body with minimal carbonation.
2.9 Appearance: pours a dark brown colour. Thin off-white head. No. carbonation. Leaves moderate lacing behind. Nose: I’m getting a bready yeast, and hints of caramel and raisins. Palate: Getting a raisin bread kind of taste. Some roasted malts. A very slight bitterness on the swallow. UPDATE May 22nd, 2016. Feel the same about it, but this time got a big frothy off-white head.
4.1 Poured into glass from a bottle. Rich amber color with very little head. Nice blend of malts and hop aroma. Excellent taste. Great balance between malts and hops. Refreshing. Very nice on the palate. best beer I’ve tried in quite a while. Well done cameron’s.
4.9 Love this beer. One of the best Amber beers that I have ever tried! West Coast style. Smooth, malty with a deep finish.
2.9 Rating #824 - December 12, 2013 - Beer 12 from the Craft BeerAdvent Calendar - Bottle 5%. Descrpition led me to believe this was going to be more of an APA. Clear amber colour with a bubbly white head. Aroma is caramel and hint of citrus. Taste is mild malty sweetness and a little noble hoppy note, drying out the finish. Nothing stellar. 6-3-4-3-10 Rerate - March 19, 2014 - Cameron’s mixer pack shared with clients - More grassy spicy hops, again fresher stock so much more crisp - good malt backbone this go-around. 6-3-5-3-12
2.7 Subtle malt flavor in the taste. Weird bitterness in the palate. Not awesome.
2.7 Advent calendar. Pretty plain red ale. I had it with curry, which was okay, until the curry was gone. Then I realized how sweet this beer is.
2.9 Brownish amber. Aroma is light of malt and some mild pine. Overly sweet caramel body, very faint hops. Watery body. What exactly makes this west coast?
3.4 341 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a stem glass. Pours clear caramel-brown with a small, white head that fades and leaves lots of fine lace. The nose has lots of caramel, nutty malts and biscuit, along with subtle English hops and perhaps a hint of anise. The flavour is medium sweet with toasty, nutty malts, caramel and brown sugar. This is balanced with subtle hops and a touch of earth. The finish is medium in length, malty and toasty. On the palate it is medium in body, with a milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice ale similar to an English mild. The malts are nice and toasty, with a certain subtlety. Hops are soft and delicate, and take a back seat. A nice light session brew. 2013-05-13
3.0 A solid amber, easy drinking and smooth. Subtle citrus aroma, but dominated.by caramel and toffee. Flavour is the same, with nothing standing out. A good blend of flavours, but no wow factor. Just a good amber!
3.0 CBAC day 12.Pours a clear brown color with a small frothy off white head that leaves good lace. Aroma of caramel, malty, grassy hops and light bubblegum. Taste is caramel, grassy hops and pine. Decent balance but as it warms the bitterness becomes a touch harsh but overall this is a nice amber ale.
2.7 Craft beer advent calendar day 12! Pours a very clear brown with a small creamy off white head leaving small lace. Aroma is moderately malty, caramel, citrus and grass. Not a perfect balance but not bad. Flavour is medium hop bitterness, mixture of grassy, pine and citrus hops, some sweet malts, caramel and a medium dry finish. Bitterness is a bit astringent and could be smoother, also seems a bit thin.
2.5 Clear auburn colour. Slight roast, malted, and some caramel. Medium bodied brew with a watery mid palate and a fast finish. It shows only some lightly malted flavours but overall this is a boring, watery and terribly one dimensional brew. English styled brew; ie: boring. Never having this one again.
2.8 Deep amber pour. Aroma is a slightly off putting blend of caramel malts and piney hops. Somewhat sweet with some mid-palate hop balance. Finishes sweet and treacle like with some pine.
4.4 Good aromas, easy drinking beer. Clear colour, on dry side. Slight bitterness, light roast taste.
3.7 Poured from a bottle into an Imperial glass, date code L0613. Appearance: Brilliant dark copper with a finger of off white head. Aroma: Slight citrus and pine from hops with a blend of dark pitted fruit from English malts. Taste: Slight chocolate-caramel with a crisp bitterness. Mouthfeel: Moderate with a medium carbonation. Overall: A classic West coast-style red, enough malt to keep the beer rounded but enough hops to be very drinkable.
4.6 the auburn is a great tasting beer, great flavour and aroma. if you like red this blows away common red and auburns. camerons is a great craft brewery with many great beers the ressurection is stellar!
5.0 This hand brewed all natural no preservative auburn ale was a real treat for my taste buds. After finishing a few bottles it is no surprised that it has won so many awards! it is a deliciously complex west coast ale with a generous hop aroma, smooth maltiness and a deep smooth finish!
