Cantillon Vigneronne ( - 2018)

Cantillon Vigneronne ( - 2018)

Vigneronne is a blending muscat grapes and lambic, the brewers and beer merchants produced the "druivenlambik" (grapes lambic). White grapes soaked in lambic. The fructose, which abounds in these fruits, enables us to make a beer which is more mellow than the Gueuze or the other fruit beers. The spontaneous fermentation, the ageing in the barrels for several years and the addition of grapes make it a distant cousin of certain white wines. Changed name from Druivenlambik in 1987.

3.9 Flaska Poechenellekelder Bryssel.
3.8 08Jun2019 2012 vintage.Sour grapes, tart, funk, oak, wet straw, lemon peel. Hazy gold, tiny, creamy, white head. Medium sour. Lemon and lime juice, lemon peel, acidic, dry tart, sour grapes, soft carbonation, medium bodied. Beautiful aroma. Draft at CASK Pub And Kitchen, Pimlico.
3.9 Bottle, bottled 15 october 2018. Color: Hazy golden, dense white head. Aroma: Sweet and sour, Brett, grapes. Taste: Moderate to medium sour, light to moderate sweet and very light bitterness. Notes of grapes, grapeskin, hints of berries, funky notes of Brett. Medium body, below average carbonation. Long lasting fruity and Bretty finish. Very easy drinkable, not that much sourness, nice complexity and very well balanced flavours. Very good. Maybe a bit young, I will keep a 2017 vintage in the cellar to see how this beer will age.
3.7 On tap at Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Hazy golden, small head. Quite vinous and acidic aroma, white grapes, funky, sour fruit juice. Quite sour, medium body, very fruity, lemony, drinkable, not so vinous any more. Completely dry. Very nice.
4.4 Wspaniałe piwo. W aromacie bardzo delikatna dzikość w typie derki. Główny plan to winogrona i białe wino, potem mokre drewno. Klasa. Batch: 2018 trochę gorzej. Wszystko jakby poziom mniej.
3.7 75cl bottle, 2017 vintage. Pours hazy orange golden with a minimal white head. Aroma: white grapes, peach, lemon, oak, light funk. Taste: dry, citric, light to medium tartness, sour grapes, funk, hints of green apple & pepper. Pronounced dry finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not my favourite of the seasonals
3.6 Funky, white grape with plenty of Brett Characteristics. Full of carbonation after a few years.
4.1 Flaska från trade, årgång 2017. Ljus, relativt klar gulguldig med kritvit krona. Ganska anonym i doften, lätt funkighet och typiskt grönt äppelskal. Torr, ganska stram i kroppen.
4.1 Draft at Hops & Pie Sour, Wild, and Fruited Fest 2016 4-23-16
3.9 750ml bottle, 2017. Pours hazy yellow - orange, small white head for moment. Aroma is funky, sour, fruity, slightly farty. Taste is sour, funky, grapes, bretty. Brett in aftertaste, dry finish. Medium body, average carbonation. Very nice, it's really on funky side. My cup of fruit lambic.
3.8 Lighter gold pour, thumb sized head that fizzes out into nothing, no lacing. Tart aroma, green apple, white grape, lemon, funk. Lots of green apple and white grape in the taste, funky backbone, barnyard, peach, light woodiness. Medium body, moderate carbonation.
4.3 Bottle from notes. Taste is grapes, green apple, tart, rich grape, wheat, peach, hints of lemon, woody. Exceptional.
4.1 750 ml bottle at Werckmeisters place, bottled 22.10.2017 shared by Werckmeister, many thanks! Pours a lightly hazy light golden. Aroma of wood, leathery funk, horseblanket, quit some fruity notes, peach, flowers, white wine. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a light to medium sourness and a light tartness. The flavor starts with sour grapes, sour berries, some citric notes, leather and tart berries. Finishes dry and woody with more leather. Good complexity with lots of leather and wood. Really good! Aroma: 9 Appearance:3 Taste: 4 Palate: 4 Overall: 17
4.0 Taster, thanks Werckmeister! Medium white head on an unclear golden body. Grape juice, cereals, bubblegum, roasted carrot, new spice, marzipan. Dry, with a slightly stringent, sour peak that leads to low, cerealic bitterness. Light slick body with small, pearly, intense but not too hard carbonation. High complexity rewards the beer drinker that doesn't expect all answers with the first sip.
4.1 75cl Bottle @ De Bierkoning, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Hazy golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is yeast, fruits, oak, slightly tart. Taste follows the aroma. Medium body, average carbonation.
4.1 From old notes I found, probably from a bottle share event with friends maybe four years ago. 2013 edition. POURS a very cloudy yellow-gold with a white layer of foam. AROMA is unique and tart with notes of under ripe lemon and ruby red grapefruit. FLAVOR has a very strong ruby red grapefruit note along with additional lemon, lime, and wheaty tartness. Very interesting.
3.6 Tap at BierCaB. Pours hazy yellow, white head. Sour lemon farmyard, grape. Medium body and average carbonation, sour finish.
3.7 Its about time to rate this. This bottle has come around a few times of the years at tastings. This always had a soft spot in my heart because of the star of david on the label (I know its not religious here). I was working a pouring station and pouring this beer at Snallygaster 2018. Had a few sneaks for myself and though its about time to rate it. Between-lambic comparison, as typical more acidic and rougher. The white grapes don't help with appearance or the acidity. I can taste the grapes but somehow the grape must and acidity are even greater. It is cool to have this side by side with St. Lam b/c the red grapes are indeed the winner. Also, this beer would not go a the fest. It kept pouring longer than any other Cantillon and longer than any of the staff would have guessed.
4.3 Bottle, 2018 release. Aroma is lemon, vinegar, moss. Low carbonation, lots of sour notes, vinegar, grape sweetness, citrusy notes. Everything on point.
4.7 From bottle at Moeder Lambic, muscadet grapes, cloudy pale liquid, small white liquid, beatiful muscadet grape aroma, tart, acid, wild, Taste: the same, slightly sweet, but not too much, Palate: medium body, soft carbonation, dlick mouthfeel, long sour wild tart aftertaste, Overall: marvellous, enjoyed very well.
Good!!
4.4 A 750ml bottle, bottled on 22nd October 2017. Poured into a Cantillon ballon glass. It was a lightly hazy golden colour with a less than one finger white head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some nice lacing. Aromas tart, white grape, grape skin, peach, apricot, pear, lemon, oak, wet hay with light funk. Tastes sour, tart, sweet green grapes, peach, pear, lemon, oak and moderate funk. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, really tasty and excellent as is. It’s only been bottled for less than a year, but I think extra time in the bottle does it wonders.
4.3 Sample at Bellwoods Witchstock 2018. There's a definite tart grape character at play with the lambic.
4.2 750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/31/2017. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with solid retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Some spotty soapy lacing on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, pineapple, mango, melon, papaya, guava, white grape/wine, fruit skin, oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light honey/leather/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, grapes, pale/wheat malts, and moderate oak notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, pineapple, mango, melon, papaya, guava, white grape/wine, fruit skin, oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light honey/leather/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness; light fruit tang, and yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, citrus peel/zest, peach, plum, pear, apricot, red/green apple, pineapple, mango, melon, papaya, guava, white grape/wine, fruit skin, oak, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light honey/leather/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, grapes, pale/wheat malts, and moderate oak flavors; with an amazing malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/acidic, and lightly tangy/tannic balance mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited lambic! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/light acidic yeast, grapes, pale/wheat malts, and moderate oak flavors; very smooth, easy, and pretty refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish, not overly lactic. Amazingly well rounded Brett/Bacteria complexity; balanced muscat grapes, and pale/wheat malts against acidity; with nice oak presence. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example as expected. A lot of increasing complexity as it warmed up.
3.8 Bottle. Cloudy golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity and tart, slight white wine. Taste is very tart up front, some fruity notes and sweetness, white wine as well.
4.8 Bottle at brewery 2017 vintage. Pours pale blonde. Classic Cantillon guezue aroma with fresh green grape juiciness. Very smooth, sour, great balance from the grapes. Light and refreshing, probably more approachable for someone unaquainted to lambic beers. Fantastic product, so worth the wait!
