Brewed using wheat grown on Wisconsin's own Washington Island, Kirby has created a refreshingly different ale for all to enjoy.

2.9Bottle. From notes. Wheat and yeast with a good dose of lemon tart and sweetness. Good, but not great.
3.2I really liked this beer. Although quite a bit more biscuity than most wheat beers it still holds its flavor. Probably my favorite summer beer as it doesn't have an overwhelming citrus flavor.
3.4Quite incipit but malty and refreshing, pale golden features and some nice sweet aroma too.
3.0Sample from bottle at Total Wine Pembroke Pines, FL from variety pack. Not bad.
2.2From notes - I wasn’t a huge fan of this one. Sample pour appears light hazy straw; nose is of corn, grains, light malt, sweetness, straw. Flavor is similar with notes of corn, malt, wheat, grainy... Lighter in body. I may have wanted more crispness in this one. Not my favorite.
2.5Golden, aroma is lemon and wheat. Taste is bready with some zest. More of a summer thing.
2.6Bottle. Pours a golden color with white head. Lemon, wheat aroma. Typical, crappy american wheat.
2.9It poured a cloudy yellow color with a thin white head. The aroma was of lemon, wheat and yeast. The taste was crisp and true to the nose.
3.0Fresh from the lake beer fridge....nice end to a warm Friday / end of summer labor day weekend...pours a hazy yellow with minimal head / lacing. Slight sweet nose with touch of hops...touch of banana in the aftertaste...a good summer beer
2.6Large head, white, looks good, frothy, mostly lasting.
Cloudy tiny particles .
Light golden color.
Grain and fruit aroma.
Kind of acidic taste, short finish.
Medium body watery to oily
Another wheat beer, not my favorite style...
2.6Pours a hazy lemon yellow with one finger head and small bit of lacing. Light toasted malt. With moderate lemon rind hoppy component. mildly sour up front with some mild bitterness. Thin bodied, moderated carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Abrupt finish. Forgetteablle.
2.0It’s not easy for me to rate this, and I’d recommend you take my rating with a grain of salt. I am not fond of wheat beers. For the most part they just don’t cut it with me. Many of them (not this one) have an odd, rotting banana taste/smell. This one has more of a stale sugar cookie nose. Looks like cloudy grapefruit juice. Tastes like watered down cloudy grapefruit juice. The alcohol content is sub par. It’s rather flat, destroying it’s chances as a thirst killer. This isn’t horrible yet I don’t like it. I just don’t really like most wheat based beers. The end!!!!!
2.6Golden cloudy with white head. Lemon and mild wheat aroma and flavor. Creamy texture and mild bitterness.
4.1A very enjoyable wheat beer, from a small Wisconsin brewery. The wheat used in this beer is from Washington Island up in Door County. Very smooth and refreshing.
2.912 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy straw with an average white head. Aroma of grain, citrus, and spices. Taste is grain, lemon, spices, yeast, and hops. More hops than usual in a wheat beer. Pretty good.
3.212 oz pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus and malt. Taste is much the same.
3.3On tap at brewery, pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin diminishing white head, aroma has some yeast and wheat notes with subtle spices, flavor has a nice yeasty front with a lemon finish, not bad for a warm spring day.
4.9Love it. It has some fruit aroma, orange and a bit of ginger. Cloudy color that when mixed with the aroma makes you expect a little bit of a stronger taste. I find it refreshing to drink this beer, many of them, on a warm WI night. They go down smooth and each one leaves you wanting another. Not to heavy on the taste or the alcohol so you can enjoy a few.
2.3Nice mild aroma, very thin golden color, more like an american pilsner. This beer is confused to its identity. May be good if its 95 degress out and you are sweating after cutting the grass. Not much flavor, nothing off or pronounced, but bland. Thin mouthfeel, no finish, sort of flat, no weiss bier characteristics. Seems more like a supper club Hamms at a Wisconsin fish fry. No hops, no yeast, not much malt taste.
3.3Served from a bottle. Foamy crisp drinkable beer, with a light wheat taste, guessing cascade hops, since it’s not over powering. Good warm weather beer.
3.1Pour out of 12 oz bottle is clear, very slightly hazy yellow with thin white head, aroma brought notes of some wet hay, slight fruity notes, hints of grassy pine touch of biscuit and bread as well, not very appealing. Taste is a bit better but I still get the wet grainy and hay notes, hints of sweet fruit and biscuit with a fairly sweet but slightly dry finish.
3.6This one poured a darker straw color with a moderately lasting white foamy head expected of a Wheat Ale. Slight aroma of clove and a hint of coriander as might be expected. It went down smoothly with a suggestion of graininess and well rounded wheat malt. The hops were grassy and almost tart, but were a good balance for the malt. This would be a good session wheat.
3.6Light pale straw color, thin nill head.
Tart,mineral,lemon,light sweet grain.Somewhat pleasant really.
light not too thin taste but smooth and mildly sweet with some lemon, mild tartness, slightly dry crisp, mild mellow hop presence more floral and slightly herbal.Witha tart very lightly sweet but somewhat dry finish.Pretty clean with a pretty nice malt/yeast character(flavor) overall.A light smooth light sweet breadiness. A great beer for the summer.
3.11. Look – A somewhat hazy straw to pale gold color wheat ale. There is a nice medium head and lots of bubbles.
2. Sniff – Island Wheat has some banana and clove aromas that are noticeable.
3. Sip – This is a very soft and refreshing wheat ale with a slightly sour finish to it.
4. Another Look – This wheat ale looks very appealing and easy to drink. I want to add a slice of orange to it.
5. Evaluate – Overall, this is light bodied wheat ale, with plenty of banana and clove flavors, which will keep you sipping away. I would most definitely recommend this beer to my family and friends for something light in the summer time.
3.5Strong wheat bread in the aroma with a hint of spice. The flavor is of wheat grain, citrus and a bit of spice. A bit different than most wheat ales, very strong on the bread but not one-dimensional. Pretty good for the style.
2.4Was disappointed by this beer. Pours a cloudy amber colour. No distinctive taste. Pretty bland at the end.
3.612 ounce bottle from Steve’s Mineral Point Madison, WI. Pours a hazy straw yellow with a medium white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of wheat, caramel, apple-like fruits and a faint nuttiness. The taste is soft wheat notes, citrus, honey, apples, caramel, faintly bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.
3.0A pretty damn good wheat beer. The wheat isn’t overpowering and it’s sessionable.
2.5Bland even for a wheat ale. Nice cloudy blond appearance with even some brown wheat flecks. No hop bitterness, and no wheat citrus tang.
3.4Bottle pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma shows wheat bread, lemon zest, light banana, and hay. Flavor shows the same. What’s interesting about this is how distinct the Washington Island wheat actually is. If anyone has ever had Death’s Door spirits, then you probably know what i’m talking about. Unique and not your typical hefe.
