Cascade Blueberry
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Far more tart than I was expecting. Blueberry character is background to the intense sourness. Quite nice. Picked up a bottle in Lawrence in 2019.

Scent: Wine-ish, blueberry, Intense.
Taste: Sour, little soft sweetness from the berries. Long aftertaste.
Texture: Medium high co2.
Bottle shared at Cgravie's: Poured a burgundy with a thin white head. Aroma is super funky berry and brett. Taste is super sour tart blueberry.
750 ml bottle from Systembolaget. Cloudy reddish amber with white head. Clean sour fruity with berries, fruit, citrus and zest.
Brown/red color, small, quickly diminishing beige head. Tart aromas of blueberries, peach candy, oak, cherries and earth. Tart taste with blueberries, oak, blackcurrant, gooseberries, red wine and alcohol.
Bottle from Willow Market in Menlo Park, CA. Aroma is blueberry yogurt, lactic acid, hoove-y funk, berry must. Taste is sharp berry funk and tartness, spicy animal acids, dry oak and astringent. Lingering acid and funk spice. Filthy stuff. Very lively and lovely.
Bottle 0,75 from 2016. Pours dark rube with almost no white head. Nice sour with blueberries and a bit og gooseberries. Very nice in the sun. Medium body and average carbonation.
Deep, dark red colour with thin foamy head. Aroma and flavour have some floral sweet blueberry. Then dry, woody and sour.
Red pour with a head that fades very quick. Carbonation level makes it look kind of like juice. Aroma is light, hints of bile and vomit, a little fruit, but not overly strong. Very sour taste with strong, prickly carbonation. Kind of sweet at first, fruity, but I'm having a really tough time identifying what type of fruit, maybe a blackberry? Aftertaste has some blueberry notes though, but not overwhelmingly so. Would like to try a fresher version of this. Medium bodied.

Sour, acidic and acetic smell without fruit notes. Acidic taste, some dark astringent berries in the aftertaste. Fabulous red wine colour. Although 7% alcohol, still refreshing and drinkable.

Bottle at tasting. Aroma of rich blueberries, tart, oak, vanilla and cherry. Taste has nice smooth blueberry, oak, tart, tannine, cherry, vanilla and a fruity acidic finish. Very nice.

Pours dark red with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, tart, funk, berry and blueberries. Taste is light sweet and medium sour with a long dry, tart, funky and berry finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.
Backlog. Deep, clear, purple with almost no head. Lots of blueberry, blackberry, some earthy and woody character to it. Lightly bitter towards the finish. Very dry and tart.
On draft at Caliente. Poured deep purple with no head. Appeared flat, but lively carbonation on the tongue. Big oak. Earthy. Then blueberry tart finish. Good but a touch disappointed after long awaiting a Cascade sour.
Fat på MBCC 2017. Vintage 2016. Smak och doft av blåbär, björnbär, jordkällare, blåbärssoppa, mögel, halm, jord. Fina aromer i elegant balans, fin kropp och sötma, god beska. Mycket bra!
Vintage 2012. Bardzo borówkowe, sporo też wanilii. Rasowo też śmierdzi, jest dużo stajennych klimatów. Fajny aftertaste, drewniane ściąganie połączone z lekkim rozgrzewaniem od alkoholu i przyjemnym migdałowym posmakiem. Bardzo wymagający kwas.
2012 vintage. Unclear dark purple. Aroma is heavy barnyard, leather, berries, blueberry, tart. Moderate sweet, quite tart, berries, blueberry, long lasting funky feeling, some vinegar in the end.

Pleasant berry aroma, tart, sourish, a bit oxidised. Harsh acidic bite. Berry skins taste. Sweetish but a bit vinegary. Grows on me - I popped the points up a couple of times.

750mL bottle. Pours lightly darkened red with a medium pinkish head. Aroma is blueberry, oak, wheat, and grass. Taste is sour; oak, blueberry, some wheat, light funkiness, light vinegar, and a touch of grape. Dry. Medium body. Medium carbonation.
On tap @ alus celle 2014 vintage. Very nice blueberry jam with fresh floral aspect, bit oaky. Light sweetness with moderate to light tartness. Awesome balance, highly enjoyable and refreshing.

Taste med/big sour med sweet. Medium body lively carbonation.
Red clear with small white head. Sour fruity aroma. Not too strong fruity sourness, bit dusty.
