3.5 Purchased at City Beer in San Francisco. Bourbonic plague has a dark brown appearance with active legs and a small ring of off white head. Aromas of oak, bourbon, leather, barnyard funk, tart lemon, vinegar, and some light roast notes. Flavor is more focused on the tart. ABV is well hidden. Interesting beer. Complex. Not super approachable, but nice to try.
4.0 Beautiful sour dark chocolate cocoa toffee tart vinegar yeast funk bourbon.
3.9 Draft at the Handlebar. A bit of a different take from their usual output. Dark brown with a ring of fine beige head. Aroma leadscwith thevtart, flavor fills in with some roast and bourbon. Pretty nice.
4.0 Tap @ BierCab, Barcelona, Spain. Dark brown colour with a thin tan head. Aroma is toasted malt, chocolate, berries, oak. Taste is toasted malt, chocolate, sweet, vanilla, berries, tart, oak, bourbon. Full body, soft carbonation.
3.7 2009 bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour opaque cola brown with large tan head. Nose light sour funk, mineral, cherry. Taste cherry, tart, light mineral. Floral and cherry aftertaste. Still tasting ok for a decade old.
3.8 Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours dark, almostblack with a tiny tan head. Aroma of dark malts , dark ripe berries . Taste is light tarty berries, sour fermented berries, nice mouthfeel.
4.0 On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with beige head. Aroma of cherries, horse stable, caramel, chocolate. Tastes sour and sweet with little bitterness. Medium bodied, sour finish.
3.8 On tap at Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. Very dark colour, nearly black. Intense aroma of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Relatively light bodied for its strength, low carbonation. Medium sour flavour, notes of bourbon, oak, vanilla and sour berries. Very moderate hops.
3.6 Draft at Butterfield Taproom in Wheaton, IL. as a pricey 4 oz. serving displaying a darkest brown hue, with amber highlighting, a thin ring of off white foam, and light spots of lacing. The nose was slight yeastiness, subtle roasted/dark malts, dark fruit as grape, plum, and cherry, some vinous character, sweetness, along with tartness & tanginess. Medium+ bodied, the taste was similar notes, continued tartness & tanginess, hints of vinaigrette, and puckering, tannic astringency. Thick and flavorful, with complexity that was definitely present in the comingling of notes, but the cinnamon, vanilla, dark malts, and even the bourbon were too subdued by the barrel, and denied proper exposure, imo.
4.9 We had this add the Butterfield taproom in Wheaton Illinois in December 2018 this was a wonderful sour I would highly recommend
4.0 Old notes from a bottle share with friends, probably about 4 years ago. POURS a muddy hazy brown with a fine bubbly off-whitehead. AROMA of spicy bourbon, dark roasted malts, and balsamic. FLAVOR that I simply wrote down as "sour chocolate", vinegar, and cigars. Very tangy in the finish. Hides the big 12% really well, actually. Normally I am not much a fan of dark sours, but this one actually works well. (305, 1111)
4.6 On tap at the beer temple. Pours black with little head. Aroma is loads of bourbon, sour cherries, dark malts, figs. Big body, smooth mouthfeel. Flavour is amazing, complex, layered and smooth at 12%. Just perfect - it brings out the best of a porter, a sour and the barrel-aging is the cherry on top. An amazing hybrid style by itself, it's one of the best sours and porters I've had.
3.9 Tap at BierCaB. Pours dark brown, beige head. Malts, caramel, sour cherries, bourbon, caramel. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation, sour finish.
3.7 2013 vintage at the brewery. Leathery color and smooth feel. Mild tartness blended with roasted malt. Bourbon adds a nice touch.
2.9 Tap. Roast malt, oak, bourbon, raspberry seeds, light chocolate. Black with tan head. Taste is moderate sour, roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla. Light body, dry feel and sour oak finish.

4.1 Tap at BeerTemple, 20th June 18. Pours black and velvety. Aroma is intense, balsamic, vinous, barrel. Taste is, as expected, intense, delicious, barrel, wood, balsamic vinegar in a good way. It's a beast and good to sip and enjoy.
4.6 On tap at Beer Temple Amsterdam. Blackish dark brown with two finger tan head. Aroma: tart, cherries, funk, coffee, vinegar, vanilla, farmyard, roasted malts, oak, bourbon. Taste: sour cherries, tart, farmyard, oak, bourbon, balsamico vinegar, vinous tannine, bitter roasted espresso beans, bitter dark chocolate, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla, dates, black berries, caramel, dried fruit, plums, figs, strawberries. Medium to full body with a very sour fruity bittersweet finish. More akin to Flamish Oud Bruin then to the Porter style. Incredible brew! My introduction to Cascade Brewing Co. is a beautiful one...it's one of the best sours I've ever had...classic!
4.1 On tap at Grizzley's Ode to Winter event. Dark pour. Aroma is sour fruit and bourbon. Taste is crazy, take some time to pick this apart, sour cherry, bourbon, tart, boozy. They did such an awesome job of incorporating lots of flavors and making it work. Really cool sour!
4.1 Draught @ Sori Taproom, Helsinki. Last of the keg. Poured near black with a thin white head. Bourbon, wood, chocolate and tartness in aroma. Flavor has berries, wood, tartness and bourbon. Long tart finish. Lovely.
4.5 Tap at Flying Saucer. Black with brown bubbles. Roast, sour cherry and chocolate. Rich but plenty tart. Smooth medium bodied. Very well done.
4.1 A: Dużo czekolady, wiśni, trochę funky, jest lekko kwaśne, w tle bourbon. S: Bardzo kwaśne, cierpkawe. Jest czekolada, wiśnia, praliny, fajny i wyraźny bourbon, finish palonony i dosyć delikatny, alkohol ukryty, goryczki brak.
3.8 Draught at Gourmet Haus. This is such an interesting beer. When you search deep, you really taste and smell the nuances of the imperial porter in there. The sourness takes some getting used to in the porter, but it really becomes a nicely complex beer.
4.3 Dark. Figs, dark, bourbon, booze, oak, brown sugar, and a good chuck of sour dryness. Sontasty.
4.2 @ BCBF 2017 Really nice and complex smell. Some chocolate and roast. Same in taste. Sour and chocolate blend perfectly. Great stuff.
3.8 Draught at City Beer SF. Brown color, white head. Sour taste with bourbon, cherry, red currant, oak, tart, wheat and a bit of syrup. Sour finish with bourbon, wheat, oak, cherry, tart, toffee, red currant and ripe fruits. Excellent sour ale.
4.2 [9671-20171020] Cask. Nice sweet roasted woody fruity aroma. Hazy, dark brown black body with a quick foamy off-white head. Has a fruity sour and tropical plum flavour. Full body. Delicious. (8/4/9/4/17) 4.2 (Cask Days 2017 @ Brickworks, Toronto, ON)
4.2 2017-10-20. Dark brown black body, headless. Aroma of modest bourbon and light fruit, tangy. Flavour is lovely with a good amount of bourbon up front followed by vinous tart fruit character. Average plus smooth bodied palate, soft carbonation. Wow. 7-8/3-4/8-9/3/16-18 Cask Days 2017, Toronto.
4.3 Incredible flavour profile. On tap at Birreria Volo. Bold taste, spices, bourbon. It all works. Academy award of a top and unique beer. Full mouthfeel.
