3.8 (2014 tap sample @ MBCC 2017 Red Session, Copenhagen) Pours murky dark red with a white head. Notes of quite tart cherries, currants, citrusy lactic acid, light vinegar tones, overripe fruit, barnyard funk, lightly oaked, a little marzipan cherry pit quality, sour overall with a semi-dry tart finish. Medium body, moderately carbonated. Not bad at all, cherries are definitely showing pretty well but the acid profile isn't one I love so much.

3.8 Tap at Au Trappiste. Pours darkest, almost black red with a white foam. Aroma is cherry, stones, funk, but the cherry aromas really open up after a while. Body is medium, cherries, but not as fruity as Belgian lambics often are. Clean sourness with a different kind of funk. Discreet but lively carbonation. Dryish palate. Good, not as intense as a typical Kriek would be. Rather straightforward and simple.
3.7 Typical sour cherry kriek. Tart slap then a bit of fruit. Not very complex.
3.4 Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver Cloudy red cherry color. Mild aroma of cherry pits, some cherry juice, some sourness. Smooth mouthfeel, lean body; good malt base for a Sour, moderate cherry flavor, not juicy, no pit tannins; medium sour level; the finish is lemony and a bit astringent. Possibly, some acetic acid in the end. Nice and clean, but with no depth.
