This NW style sour ale was made with various red ales that were aged in oak with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, then blended with red ales that were aged in Port and Pinot Noir barrels.

4.4Mooi donkerrood/bruin met fijne off-white schuimkraag. Druif is heel goed te proeven, eik, milde zuurheid in combinatie met het vineuse. Topkwaliteit.
4.1Tap. Rather clear deep ruby color with beige head. Aroma is cherries, caramel, nice leather and tobacco. Taste is cherries, caramel yes, but the funk takes over and it has a very dry earthy finish. Silky mouthfeel with sparkly carbonation. Great!

4.1750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, oak, cherry, raisins and a hint of toffee. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of caramel, cherry, oak and a hint of earthiness with a crisp dry tart lingering earthy cherry finish.
4.0(Draught at BrewDog Kugsholmen, Stockholm, 27 July 2018) Dark ruby colour with foamy, beige head. Fruity, sourish nose with red grapes, black-currant, blackberries, caramel and a touch of balsamic vinegar. Fruity, tart taste with notes of caramel, black-currant, blackberries, raspberries, oak wood and a fresh, generous vinegar acidity in the finish. Almost full body, with a slight sweetness. Fresh and tart, with lots of wild berries. Good balanced, hides the alcohol level well. Excellent beer.
5.0Deep dark brown coloured body with almost no head at all - what is there is light tan. Aroma of super soured wine, grapes, passionfruit, guava, barrel and soured yeast with a touch of fructose, some light wheat and a heavy hand of sour candy. Light-bodied; Strong vinous and big grape notes with bunches of sour quality, showing a light grassy and subdued wheat and malty note, but the sour and barrel foeders show through everything with a light passionfruit and guava fruit-based sweetness at the end. Aftertaste shows some light grain, but this is all about the soured qualities with wine, white grapes, yeast and grassy finishes with an amazing, well-rounded and almost bittered finish, just due to the sourness and nothing to do with any hops at all. Overall, a great beer with an amazing sour profile that shows the light maltiness, some cereal, a ton of fruit-based sweetness that leads to the nice sour qualities and a complex finish that makes this great, and easily worth trying if you can find on tap...still a bit hard to buy a whole bottle, for sure, though. I sampled this ten ounce pour on draught at the beach at Humpy's Big Island Alehouse, a few hours before leaving Hawai'i (island) on 03-January-2019, purchased for US$13,00.

3.7Keg at The Junkyard Nottingham. Pours reddish brown amber with no lacing to speak of. Aroma is definitely red wine tannin but with cherry or plum notes. Taste is sweet to sour with the sourness above the medium range but then softening. Palate is medium bodied, sticky texture, soft carbonation, and a sour finish with grape notes. I did not know what to expect but it certainly takes my Sour register in a new direction.
