Cascade Strawberry

This NW style sour is a crisp, refreshing wheat beer that was barrel-aged for seven months then additionaly aged with strawberries for another eight months. Bright, sweet strawberries and light candy notes greet you in the nose. A light tartness and berry sweetness intermingle on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling fresh berry tartness in the finish. It is better as a breakfast beer or a dessert? You decide.

3.6 12/26/17. 750mL bottle thanks to cbfobes! Hazy light red/pink pour with a sizzly pink head that disappears. Tart aroma, strawberry abound, hints of oak, vanilla. Surprisingly sweet flavor, with tartness/sourness, strawberries, vanilla, oak. Not bad, but not my favorite of the Cascades I've had.

3.6 Bottled 750ml. -at Pivoteka Zagreb, courtesy of Višnja, thanks. Unclear golden coloured, small white head, strawberry nose. Moderate malty, sour strawberries and rather high carbonation with pleasant sourness in the finish. Quite nice. 7.56%ABV

2.7 Bottle 750ml @ Rasmus hytte Pours hazy orange with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, funk, sweet fruity, yeast, burned plastic and fusel. Taste is medium sweet, medium sour and light bitter with a long sligthly dry, funnky, sweet, strawberry, yeasty and plastic finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

4.3 ....sour ale decisa, colore rosa opalescente, schiuma che svanisce quasi immediatamente, aroma citrico, fragola matura, lattico molto accentuato. Al palato ancora lattico davvero invadente, acetico, citrico, fragola acerba, tannino, doga di botte, direi globalmente spigolosa e con sfumature in continua evoluzione. Intrigante.

3.6 [9458-20170721] 750mL bottle. Smells like a musty wooden cellar or an old Commodore 64 plastic game disk aroma. Hazy, pink orange body with a medium-lasting foamy white head. Super sour fruit flavour. Medium body is sooouuurrrr. Very good. (7-/3+/7/3/16) 3.6 (w/ jercraigs, wilco) Overheard: "It's stripping my tongue of all its tastebuds."

3.8 Draught at Amazing Brewing Seoul. Copper color, white head. Sour taste with tart, wheat, strawberries, sour apples, wood, yeast and a bit grass. Sour finish with tart, strawberries, sour apple, wheat, wood and yeast. Excellent sour ale.

4.0 Shared 750 ml bottle at Cirkus, Stavanger. Pours hazy deep amber/red with a small creamy white head. Good and inviting complex fruity aroma, strawberries in the back, tart. Taste is following up the good nose, dry tart fruity, high carbonated, wilt a dry and lively mouthfeel, refreshing beer with a nice dry strawberry finish.

3.7 2017-07-21. Hazy dark orange body, quick beige head. 3+ Aroma has bizarre mix of fruity strawberry, earthy funk, musty barn board wood. Flavour is pretty acidic, nice fruit, muted strawberry, finish is sharply acidic and grabs at the throat but is fairly pleasant nonetheless. Average bodied palate, modest carbonation. Has its charms but doesn’t live up to my hopes for it. The level of acidity gets a bit intense at times. 7/3/7-8/3/16 Bottle from Will Park, Calgary.

3.4 750mL bottle. Pours copper-orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is strawberry. Taste is oak, strawberry, and a yeasty finish. Some vinegar, some wheat. Tart and sweet. Light-medium body. High carbonation. Crisp.

3.2 Hazy reddish brown. Big woody flavors with mild strawberry and citrus. Sharply tart, with some mild fruity sweetness. Very acidic and bubbly. Disappointing, really.

2.1 Thanks to Nisse666, on June 2, 2017. 75 cl bottle marked 2013 project. Label state 8.0% ABV. Cloudy brownish amber color, small off-white head. Strawberry, intense plastic, rubber, acidic scent. Acidic, sour, sulphur, tart taste. Fruity, acidic aftertaste. Minty. Fizzy mouthfeel, no bitterness.

3.7 Bottle from Julio’s, purchasing after I balked at the high price of this nonseller and the price was "just dropped 20% but hadn’t been registered yet" and then was registered. Looks, smells and tastes pleasant strawberry with tartness. Good drinkability.

1.9 Butelka w brewdog. Barwa wyblakla czerwona. Aromat intenaywny, rozwodnionego yogurtu truskawkowego, brzydki aromat. W smaku troszke lepiej. Dalej truskawka jakas brzydka, zgnila, suszona, troche kwasu. Wysycenie wysokie. Cierpki finisz.

3.5 Bottle, 2015 vintage. Biggest dissapointment from Cascade. Super wild aroma, with unpleasant dirty socks notes. Strawberries in the form of yogurt are building the back of aroma. Taste seems to be quite empty. Sourness very moderated. Touch of fruits in the aftertaste.
