3.2Bottle - big foamy head, hazy medium copper color, sweet malty aroma and flavor, dry fruit notes, not bad overall
3.1From the corked, caged bottle marked 17/08/12-L11137. This may have been past its date. The pour is medium golden amber with a quick fizzy white head that dissipates entirely. No ring. No lacing. Toasted biscuit and yeast are the main esters on the nose. Some butter too. Light to medium body but fairly smooth. Again, toasted biscuits in the taste with an added touch of grain. Low to moderate hop finish. But clean altogether. It felt like a pilsener to me.
2.6Bottle. Cloudy golden color, medium head. Layer of "stuff" glued to the bottom of the bottle that didn’t stir. Aroma was light, watery. Taste was actually not as bad as it smelled. Still not a very good beer.
3.1330mL. Pours relatively clear deep golden with medium, thicker white foam. Higher carbonation. Nose is interesting- soured apple, grass, mild skunk, bananas foster. Taste is a bit tart, papery, banana, apple, white sugar. Overall a tad odd with that soured as in souring apple pie, not sour apple like green apple. Strange overall, drinkable, but the sugar density makes this a heavy beer to get through and there is little rustic malt and hop character to help you through it. Disappointing. This beer style is ripe for some overhaul.
2.8Bottle. Butterscotch aroma. Hazy honey gold, minimal head, flocculation. Sweet buttery caramel malt and old cardboard flavor. Body on the light side of medium.
3.4Bottle. Buttery malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet buttery malt flavor with a light herbal finish. Nice.
3.2Clear, brassy gold with a whipped, off-white head.
Aroma is malt, grain, a little buttery.
Taste is deeply sweet, malt....caramel, sugar.
Not bad, a little clingy sweet.
3.8Had this at Disney World of all places. Not your average blonde with malt and caramel notes, a slightly less sweet, but arguably more delicious blonde beer.
2.3750 ml. bottle. Pours clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aromas of malt, wet dog and barnyard. Flavors are pretty much the same and not too plesant. Reminds more of a bad Czech pilsner than a biere de garde. Maybe a bad bottle.
3.8Tap pour - @ RHP. Pours yellow gold, nice medium white head. Tastes of beautiful cool malts, complex yeasts, and spicy hops. Good long bodied palate and great balance. Very good.
3.6Pours a pale old gold to orange with a 3 finger, chunky, eggshell head that has good retention and leaves some lacing. Aroma of swwet malt, toast, caramel, cereal, floral and spicy hops and light tree and dark fruit. Flavor of cereal, toast, sweet malt, hay, apple skins, light caramel and mineral notes, floral hops and just a hint of spicy and herbal hops. Light to medium body with a creamy entry quickly leading to a moderate strength, but sharp carbonation and slightly dry, crisp finish. Good stuff, surprisingly refreshing and light, but with a great malt backbone and slighly warming booziness. Has a very, "Pilsener on Ale yeast" feel.
3.4Bottle from Total Wine in Newport News, VA. Served in a cervoise. Pours a clear light golden color. Moderate retention and lacing. Nose has faint floral hops behind toast and malted grain. Flavor is toasty and bready. A bit chewy. Medium body and a semi-dry finish.
3.6Pours a medium golden orange, fair amount of head that disappears quickly. Aroma is subtle, faint barnyard/farmhouse vibe, maybe a bit of straw. Thinner body is lively and bright. Finish is slightly estery. Very drinkable, but not remarkable.
3.4Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando. Pours blond with a half-inch of off-white head. The aroma is buttery with strong malts and a hint of nuts. Notes of biscuit, more malts, more nuts, subtle banana, green apple, and grains. Medium/high carbonation and medium body. Not too complex, but a solid brew.
3.5Bottle shared by a friend. Pours a clear gold color with a thick off-white head. Malty aroma with some yeasty funkiness. Malty sweet flavor with a bit of funk and a crisp finish.
3.7Draft. Hazy golden yellow color, large bubble white head. Aroma of straw and citrus. Taste is mild barnyard, bitter hay. Nice.
3.3Poured pale golden with a decent white head that diminished quickly. Almost no aroma, although only hints of any scent were apple type flavors, but, so faint to be barely perceptible. Flavor was mild with a bit of cidery spice, but not too overpowering. Quite mild, but, very refreshing.
3.5Poured from 750 ml bottle.
Sparkling with a very slight haze, a 2-finger cream head and excellent lacing. Head and lacing do not linger very long.
Aroma of caramel, grain, yeast, apple and herbs.
Taste of caramel, honey, Chardonnay, yeast, bread, apple and rose water.
Medium body and medium carbonation. Soft, foamy mouthfeel.
3.0bottle-conditioned 750ml, BB 24/07/2013. early pour is clear apple juice color with a large-bubbled white head of average retention. early on it has a strangely faint nose, as in, it almost smells like nothing whatsoever. there’s a small bit of red apple esters and mild calcium, copper and soap notes with cork and tomato / vegetable / ketchup scents coming into play as it opens. medium body, somewhat chewy and oily. apple juice flavor with very small accents of ginger root, detergent and hairspray. juicy, sweet, effervescent presence in the mouth. carbonation is a bit too rough, and the malt is a combination of gooey apple cider texture with rough, grain-heavy edges.
4.0Refreshing and crisp with slight herb and floral notes. Beautiful blonde color. A wonderful spring/summer beer.
3.4Bottle. Clear blond pour with a one finger white head and nice-looking bubble action. Pilsner malts, honey, and grassy/floral hops on the aroma. The flavor is somewhat standard for the style, but well-done nonetheless. Slightly sweet honeyish malt base and mild hop bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel with medium body for the style. Drinkable. A nice tick.
3.1Pours a totally clear blond with sparse head. Aroma is apple, pear, fresh baked bread, honey, pils malt, caramel, banana. Taste is same as aroma. Body is medium, low to medium carbonation, long bready finish. Overall, underwhelming but interesting. You probably need to pair this one with some carefully chosen food to bring out its full character.
0.5F me! Two beers tonight that sucked. I have never had a cell phone but I am going to have to get one because I can’t keep going to these exotic beer stores and taking chances on interesting LOOKING beers. That Suck!!! The best way to describe this beer is European Corona. Bleh! Side note..... their St. Armand is delicious.
3.7750ml corked bottle pours blonde in color with a huge white head that retains well and leaves some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is light malts with some fruits, yeast and light hops. Taste is fruity with a light malt sweetness and mild hop bitterness with some yeast. Very spritzy carbonation and modest body provides and nice sensation on the palate. A very appealing brew that is highly recommended.
3.7Bottled Jan. 23 2009. Crystal clear deep golden, almost no head. The nose is very floral, green grapes, chardonnay, peaches. Light to medium bodied, nice sweet malt base, lots of apple cider and pear flavors, musty and earthy, and a grassy and slightly dry finish that tastes of dusty hops. Nicely balanced, nicely aged, very sophisticated.
3.5750ml pours a slight hazed golden yellow with a white head. Aroma was of lemon, grass, malt, bread and hay Taste was of crisp floral hops, with sweet malts, and lemon.
3.4A murky orange color with a diminishing beige head. The aroma contains some citrus, bread, and floral notes. The flavor is a bit dry with some citrus, earthy notes, and a hint of caramel. Not as sweet as many I’ve had from this style. Overall more like a simple Belgian than anything but not bad.
4.2Pours rusty amber. Nose is sweet and floral. Rich floral flavor with spice and malty notes and slight bitterness on the finish. Very good.
2.0Appearance: lightly hazed golden pour with a two finger white head. Aroma: some doughy malts, with floral and yeasty notes. Taste: a bit of crackery pie crust, honey, and strong banana-y esters. Finish: slick, sweetish, with lingering yeasty banana notes. Notes: Did not care for this at all. Flavors seemed muddled, palate was almost oily and flat, and the nose seemed off. Perhaps an overly old bottle.
3.6Bottle. Pours lightly hazy gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention with great lacing. Aroma is lightly toasted malt, notes of honey and biscuit malt, fragrant fruity esters and barely perceptible hops. Flavor is malt dominant, lightly sweet with fruity esters and a very dry finish. Medium body, low warmth, medium-low carbonation.
