3.4 Mahogany amber colour with a covering of white head. Notes of nectarine, candied orange peel and some faint woodiness. That woodiness comes through in the flavour along with gentle spice and orange peel again. There’s tangy bitterness and tingly carbonation. A bit of a treat down here.

3.5 (Cask at Crown Rivers JDW, London Heathrow Terminal 5, 1 Dec 2014) Amber colour with foamy, beige head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, apricots, hints of resin and lots of fresh hops. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, apricots, a touch of ginger and fresh hops in a finish with a balanced bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh and tasty. Nice one.
3.4 500ml bottle from Ales By Mail. Light brown & tan, not much head. Nutty malt aroma. Flowery nutty malt flavour. Big bitter aftertaste. A good bitter.
3.0 Dark amber, slightly cloudy, with a small but sticky white head. Medium body. Aroma of malt and grass. Some malt in the flavour too, but this is quickly overtaken by hoppy bitterness which then lasts and lasts. Interesting, but I’d prefer the sweet malt middle to last a little longer before the onslaught of hops.
3.8 Bottle from Glug, Newcastle. Bright amber coloured with an initial orange blossom, pine and citrus flavour followed by nutty, oak, more pine and burnt toffee on the finish.
3.1 Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 31 Jul 2012. Poured a clear amber, with a dense off white head. Aroma was quite light, with some grassy hop, caramel and mild sulphur. Flavours were better; some peppery hop, citrus and biscuity malt. Finish was hay, peal and toasted malt.
2.6 A mid orange red coloured beer with a weak off-white head. An odd strawberry jam aroma, with a background of grassy hops and light caramel. A light and dry mouthfeel. A light, medium-dry malty flavour, there is remnants of the strawberry jam element from the aroma, but this is soon overtaken by a light caramel flavour. This is then followed by a mild bitter hop flavour, that adds a grassy, woody taste. The finish is bitter and hoppy. Tasted at JDW The Limes, Fakenham.
