Central City Red Racer IPA

Central City Red Racer IPA

An ale fashioned to survive the long voyage from England to India during the British colonization. Hops, hops, and more hops, this ale has an intense aroma and a long lingering finish. Drink as an appetizer on its own, or pair it with any hearty dish. A beer for the connoisseur, this is the Brewmaster’s choice. "Cheers!"

Malts: UK Maris Otter, Superior Pale Ale Malt, Carastan Crystal Malt

Hops: German Magnum, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe

Colour/Clarity: Amber to Orange, Bright. SRM: 14

3.7 355ml can. Crystal clear, amber colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, slowly osteoporosing, fairly lacing, white head. Resinous, piney and citrusy, minimally soapy, hoppy aroma, notes of pine, lemon peel, some orange, mandarine, caramel malty background. Taste is crisp, bitter, resinous, piney and citrusy hoppy, slightly sweet caramel malty basis, notes of pine, lemon peel, orange peel, mandarine; lingering, piney and bitter hoppy finish. Oily texture, smooth and soft palate. Very clean - paradigmatic West Coast IPA.
3.8 Clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma is caramel, hops and peach. Taste is light sweet and bitter
2.9 Can. Sweet aroma. The foretaste is fairly bitter but that is followed by a sweetness that is citrus but more like an orange than lemon or lime. Just too sweet for me. Seems common among the high IBU beers that they are more sweet than bitter. While IBU accurately reflects how much hops a beer contains it is not very accurate about how bitter a beer is.
3.7 Can. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Amber colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate.
3.4 Can@Torben Mathews tasting. Pours clear amber with medium white head. Aroma is pine, resin, orange and paint. Taste is light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Body is milky with soft carbonation. Finish is long and bitter with pine, spruce, orange, sweet grapefruit, bitter almonds and walnut.
3.6 Can @ Torben Mathews tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, bitter hops, fruits, flowers and has a nice bitter finish.
3.4 Can @ Torben Matthews tasting. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and moderate hoppy - fruity and old hops. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 201118
3.5 Canned 355ml. Clear golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, light hops and caramel in the nose. Sweetish malty, peachy and light herbal hoppy touch of caramel. Bitterish finish.
4.0 Fint humlet, dog ikke helt oppe i de 80 IBU. En del sødme i den også...måske sødmen tager det meste af bitterheden....
3.1 New to the Phuket market. Largely standard issue for mod IPA at the ABV. Imminently drinkable even if a bit 'same same'. Some easy-going toffee (almost tending towards ESB), resin hops; in friendly amounts. Wouldn't 'race' to again but a safe choice (190baht 440ml Central Festival). Older cans (10 months) have held up well all things considering and the malt profile was quite attractive.
3.2 Canned 355ml. -from Svijet Piva Zagreb. Clear golden coloured, small to medium sized white head, light hops and caramel in the nose. Sweetish malty, peachy and light herbal hoppy touch of caramel. Bitterish finish. Not so fresh.
3.6 This is slowly becoming a staple in the IPA category in my fridge. It is priced below the premium IPAs in the big bottles yet still delivers the taste.
3.7 330 ml can from Bottles of Beer in Bangkok. Pours a dark coppr color, one finger dirty white head. Good mouth feel - slightly resinous. Pine, apricot, apple. Strong malt influence, fruit "tang" - slight metallic taste. Solid beer!
3.9 Nagy, örökké tartó, bézs hab, gyönyörű vörösréz szín, szűrt. Enyhe, fűszeres illat. Fűszeres, citrushéjas ízek., enyhe citrusos aromával. Száraz, közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas és keserű. Letisztult, egyszerű IPA, a brit hagyományokat követve. Jól iható, jól eltalált sör.
4.0 clear amber colour, medium sized dense off-white head; aroma and taste of caramel, pine resiny notes, some biscuit and toastedness, hints of fruitiness and slight celery; oily mouthfeeling; good IPA
3.6 33cl can from flor do lúpulo. Clear dark gold. Medium bitterness. Medium body. Aroma and flavour is orange, pine, peach, mango.
3.6 Draught @ Zeezicht, Breda. Clear yellow golden color, medium to full sized white head that lasts for quite a while and leaves fair lacing. Aroma is incredibly fruity hoppy, hops, tropical fruityness but still within the old school IPA so not those over the top sweet NEIPAs you see everywhere these days. Lovely. Flavor unfortunately is not as spectacular. Still good, solid hoppiness, nicely fruity, a bit grassy and citrussy, moderately bitter. A bit thin bodied, average carbonation. Flavor can't match the aroma but stI'll a nice beer.
3.7 0.355l can. Clear amber body with a white foam. The aroma is a bit restrained and quite malty. Caramel comes through first followed by toast, pine and pepper. The taste starts with caramel too then comes the piny hoppyness and some grapefruit. It also has traces of toast and pepper to it. OK IPA.
3.3 Clear amber colour with thin head. Fairly typical and safe IPA. Moderately bitter. Mix of fruity hop with light piney notes too.
3.1 Rami Rami is drinking a Red Racer IPA (India Pale Ale) by Central City Brewers + Distillers at Jabeerwocky Z owocowosci jakos niewiele zostalo. Fajna slodowa warstwa, slodkawa i dosc pelna ale nie karmelowo, raczej tropikomiodowo. Niefajna, dosc dluga i nieco trawiasta goryczka
3.5 Aroma: nice citrus notes, herbs, pine, caramel. Appearance: clear amber color and creamy head. Taste: medium pine bitterness, citrus, malty, caramel. Palate: medium body and medium carbonation. Overall: interesting and decent IPA.
3.4 Draught at Tap Craft Beer Bar, Robertson Quay, Singapore. Poured a clear copper colour with a thin white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, light dry floral woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter, light sweet with a smooth sweet malt, dry floral, big dry woody hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Very bitter and not really my style. If the beer is bitter I want bubbles too.
4.0 Pours a relatively clear dark orange/amber body, super carbonated. Nice tall white head. Aromas of citrus, peach, pine, grapefruit, and yeast. Tastes of wet citrusy fruits with a lot of pine, peach, and grapefruit. Finish is dry and bitter, but with a malty sweetness. Reminds me a lot of a cross between Amsterdam's Boneshaker and Collective Art's Ransack the Universe. Great IPA, probably will drink it again!
3.9 65cl bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 30-03-2018. BBD: not seen. In short: nice DIPA. Did I enjoy it: yes. Pours little hazy deep gold-orange with nice off white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Malty, ripe tropical fruits nose. Medium body, average carbonation, slick texture. Taste follows the nose, malty, some boozy, quite enjoyable. Good.
4.7 If you like west coast IPA's then you will love this beer. Citrusy, piney, grapfruit nose, rich malt base balances beautifully the 80 IBU's of citrusy note hops. Delicious!
3.5 33cl bottle Coppery color, off-white head with good retention. Aroma has notes of resin hops, pine, orange peel. Flavor with a decent bitterness, oranges and resin hops in a highly presence. BIttery and astringent final.
3.5 355 ml can at home. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. The aroma is lightly hoppy with hints of grapefruit, pine, resin and bready, biscuity malt in the back. Medium body with a soft carbonation a light sweetness and a medium bitterness. The flavor is lightly malty with notes of caramel, biscuit, hints of honey and bread along with resinous, piny, hoppy notes along and some ripe citric fruits. Aroma: 7 Appearance: 4 Taste: 7 Palate: 4 Overall 13
3.8 Lata @Vivalabirra, Oviedo 01/02/2018 Color ambarino claro corona de espuma blanca, aromas a cítricos, herbales, sabor cítrico, herbal cuerpo medio .
5.0 Delicious, full bodied, well balanced West coast style IPA. Definitely one of my favs!
4.2 I am not much of an IPA drinker but this is a tasty beer if you like your hops!
