Central City Session India Pale Ale

Central City Session India Pale Ale

Mosaic hops lend to this light and fruity ale with a good bitterness and malt balance, coupled with refreshing hops aromatics. Red Racer India Session Ale is big on flavour, yet light in alcohol.

3.1 Can poured a hazy gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of straw, earthiness, light yeast and light tea. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, earthiness and light yeast with a crisp dry lightly bitter finish.
3.3 Dégustée à l'été 2016 (De mes notes). .
3.0 This saison poured a medium amber colour with a bright white head. Scents include cream, ripe fruit and a little tea. First swig was smooth with flavours of grass, tea and cereal. Finish was quite hoppy with the tea/cream flavour lingering.
3.4 473 ml can. Pours a golden yellow with a pillowy white head and a slight suspension. Aromas are mild pine and plenty of tropical esters. Tastes are reflective of aroma but strength is inversed with the pine being more assertive. Fairly assertive hop bitterness as well. Light body, somewhat creamy, long astringent bite. This beer may be low on abv but it packs a hoppy wallop. Probably not a what I’d call a session beer just because my palate would tire of the astringency pretty quickly.
4.0 12 oz can from Thirsty Beer Store. Golden amber, good head. Grain hop aroma. Spicy boiled sweet hop flavour. Bitter spicy hoppy aftertaste. Good one.
4.0 4%ABV. Pale ale. Poured out deep gold. 8 SRM. Nose is sweet and funky. "Cat piss". Orange juice and maybe something sweeter like tangerines. Aroma of watered raw honey. Nice toasty biscuity aromas as well. Mouthfeel is light and watery. Good carbonation. Palate has a full-bodied pale malt body with raw graham, light white bread toast, biscuits, dough and wheat flour. Hops are bitter, light pine sap. Finish is brief and clean. Goes on Favorites List!
2.9 Can: Cloudy gold with a frothy white head. Malty with mild hop aroma. Slight bitter hop trailer. Not bad but not good either.
3.7 Can from an LCBO in Toronto Canada. Pours a clear copper color. Thick soapy head. Refreshing and Mild aroma of malt and exotic fruits. Taste is refreshing, malty, bitter hops. All very mild or low. Typical for a session ipa. Malty and bitter hops finish. Good session IPA!
3.6 Pours gold with a white head. Nose of caramel malts and floral hops. Medium body. Flavor is citrus and floral hops. Light bitter finish. Pretty good.
3.2 Pours a slightly amber gold, medium head with good retention. Aroma is green and a tad sweet: pine, grass, some malt. Taste is surprisingly malt forward - lots of caramel, nutty body, pine, leafy hops, and mineral in the finish; credit for managing this much flavour in a 4% package, but the malty profile feels a bit too "hefty" for a session. Carbonation is heavy, which I don’t mind. Not an instant purchase for me, but it’s solid.
3.7 355ml can. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a large, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces nicely. Sweet, fruity, floral aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, melon and caramel malt. Sweet, fruity flavour of caramel malt, grapefruit, tropical fruit, biscuit, pine and grass with a dry, bitter, hop resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Wow! The label says it all, big on flavour and light in alcohol. Totally crushable. An excellent SIPA.
4.2 Can. Pours a very light amber with a moderate head. Lively carbonation. Nice hoppy aroma, notes of citrus. Taste: moderate flavouring and aromatic hops, notes of citrus, spruce, and a tad of earthiness. Some bitterness but not so much. Very light sweet malt undertone. LIght bodied. Finish is a grassy bitterness. This may be one of the best "light beers" ever! Well done, especially with the hop balance. I could drink this a lot!
3.5 Can from the LCBO. Clear gold with a honey biscuit and fruity hop bouquet. Medium bodied and dry with a freshly milled malt and herbal and fruit hop character.
3.7 Pours clear gold with a white head that leaves some lacing and fades but doesn’t disappear. Aroma is orange, mango and tropical fruits. Has a good juicy taste with a slight bitter kick. Very good beer,  I’ll definitely be drinking this again.
4.3 Slightly hazy golden color with strong subtle activity. Frothy creamy beige 2 finger head, lasting around 15 minutes, with super strong legs. Aromas of citrus hops, caramel, and a little piney. Flavors of lemon, orange, tropical fruits, pine, roasted grains, slight corn, caramel, floral and herbal spices. Nice fresh fruity taste with good balance between sweetness and sharpness. Smooth slick light body with perfect crispy carbonation. Light to medium strength finish, ending fruity spicy hops and a roasted grains feel. Overall an excellent craft offering delicious flavors, good balance, and great freshness. Awesome summer session beer almost like drinking fresh lemonade with alcohol. Less flavorful than the regular Red Racer with an added grainy taste.
3.4 Light yellow color with a finger of white head. Nice tropical fruit aromas. Flavour is light and fruity but tasty with some good hop character
2.9 473ml can. Golden pour, has a bisuity malt character that hurts its session ipa status, decent hop character but only a decent session ipa at best.
4.0 If you like Mosaic Hops, this is the best light beer I have ever enjoyed. Very tasty, fruity, and a nice level of IBUs. If you are tired of the overly bitter IPA’s out there, you will enjoy this for the Summer months
3.6 It's rare that I disagree with my buddy Freaky_Tiki but I do here, at least somewhat. Nose was the surprise, with some delicious Five Alive hops - tangy tropical fruit and orange on a bed of light, fruity malts. It's got a little club soda sure, but it's pretty flavourful for this (already tired) style. I will say.....I used to love the regular Red Racer IPA, and now find it far less palatable, so I'm not sure what to expect the next time I try this stuff.
3.8 355ml can. Pours a light straw, copper color. Nice one finger white head, good lacing. Aroma is bright citrus hops, lots of fruit. Very pretty amarillo hop character. Palate is bright, nice crisp carbonation. Very nice beer.
3.3 Can to mouth Consummation: Pleasant spruce and grapefruit. Okay, but I’d rather drink less with fuller flavour. Adjunct: Grassy, thin, short aftertaste
3.6 473ml can into English pint. Pours clear golden with light pillowy white head. Nose of tropical fruit, predominantly grapefruit; some pine notes. Light and crisp with plenty of bitterness. Hope it stays in town long enough for patio season.
3.8 Appearance: Dark brass, bruised peach with but an infant’s whorl of foam. Aroma: To paraphrase the White Rhino, an ambrosiac fruit cup! Grapefruit of a ripe, old age tussles with pineapple in full festive spirits. Dark sugar malts in the background embrace the playful cornucopia. Taste: Grainy malts gird and tame a grapefruit rind hop sphere whose density is further held by resin and pine flavours. This is saplings dreaming of undisturbed photosynthesis. The slight tinge of metal is only the myth of lumberjack saws. Palate: Faint carbonation staccato fingers tickle the back of the throat. Overall: An infant god’s Eden. Not entirely complex in its delectable fruit creation, especially with the restriction of pineapple to spirit, yet never degrading into a savage hop tear across the palate. In short, rumbles of prelapsarian pleasure pervade this ISA.
3.4 On tap at Nicli Pizzeria. Rich aroma with tropical fruits and notes of pine. Clear taste with piny bitterness. Very fresh. Good beer for refreshment.
2.8 12 ounce CaN, from canada .. . mild red malts, treated wood, and dried grass .. . mouth is decent, mild finish .. . good to open a tasting with .. . . One oxen has drowned. You lost 50 ammunition.
2.9 Can from sobeys. Amber color with a foamy head. Date stamp on bottom of can says April 2015 for production. Aromas of mild pine and citrus. Taste is very mild. Some pine and some fruitiness. Not bad.
