2.6 Dark, but not pitch black pour with not really any head. Weak aroma. Some malts perhaps along with black licorice. coffee bitterness on the taste, but again quite weak. Bland. Halfway medium bodied with average carbonation. Thinnish and dry aftertaste. Not impressed. Missing body, smokiness and some sweetness to balance it out.
3.5 Can - many thanks to Drake! Pours brown with a soft beige head. Roasted nuts, rose petal, light vanilla, light caramel. Flavor is roasted malts, nuts, caramel. Simple but solid.
3.9 Can pour from Colonial Spirits, Acton. Appearance is lightly hazy dark brown (rich burgundy with light source directly behind) with nice sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width beige foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is mix of mellow roasted malt, vanilla, nuts and milk chocolate. Taste follows aroma but a bit bolder. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth, thick texture, average carbonation and finish as taste with lingering bittersweet roast. Overall, a very good representative of the style. Enough complexity to shine but very well balanced with the nuts and bolts roasted malt.
3.8 12 ounce can poured into a pint glass. Dark brown with a beige head of foam. Roasty and nutty aroma. Slick dark chocolate notes. Medium body and medium carbonation.
3.5 Pours clear dark mahogany with a full, tan head. Aroma is cocoa, coffee and roast. Taste is chocolate and light brown sugar, moving to strong roast and light coffee notes. Finish is roast. A good porter.
3.5 Draft to mini-mug taster at Wisconsin Brew Pub. Looks good; a semi-transparent cola with foamy light beige head. Smells and tastes of dark malt, chocolate, and bitter hops. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied and moderately hoppy. Sessionable and enjoyable.
3.6 Bottle. Dark brown, creamy foam. Aroma: caramel, slightly dried fruit, slightly nutty, other fruits, sweet, lollipops. Taste: malt, caramel and roasted malt, a little chocolate and dried fruit, light creaminess, medium hop bitterness, normal and drinkable.
3.9 Had on tap. This is a easy to drink porter from Central Waters! It pours dark brown / black with decent carbonation. Has a nice roasty malt flavor to it with some chocolate and slight bitterness. I think it's very balanced and a smooth drinking porter. I look forward to trying more from Central Waters.
3.6 Bottle, 330 ml from De Caigny, Essen. Black with medium beige head. Roasty, chocolate, cocoa, smooth. Caramel. Medium sweetness. Medium bodied. Some bitterness in finish.
3.4 I though it was good. A little weak in the scent but tasted pretty good. Drink again

3.8 Porter rating #200! Draft pour at SAVOR 2018's Saturday session. Clear dark brown with beige head. Aromas of cocoa, malt. Tastes of cocoa, malt, chocolate. Medium body with a dry finish.
3.5 Bottle. Color: Black, beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, espresso, mocha. Taste: Moderate to medium sweet roasted malt, mocha, coffee, cocoa, moderate hopbitterness. Medium body, below average carbonation. Moderate bitter coffee finish. Ok.
3.5 Bottle @ home. Opaque black color, medium sized beige head. Aroma is malts, appears a bit dusty, maybe cocoa powder or lightly earthy. Flavor is malts, dark malts, some roast but then again those dusty flavors a bit. Aftertaste doesn't have the dusty flavors, I get some roast and roasted malt bitter with hints of dark chocolate. Maybe some brown malts too. Decent body, medium carbonation. Ok.
3.8 Sampled at Meridian Pint, pours a translucent black with brown edges and plenty of frothy, beige head. Nose has malt, molasses, earthy, licorice, chewy grains. Flavor is more cut and dry, malt, crackers, toast, some licorice but not as sweet as the nose lets on. Finishes almost totally dry, smooth.
3.7 12floz bottle, BOD: 12.21.2017 (Julian code 35517), $1.75 unit cost, nonic glass. Good brown porter, medium brown with frothy head, a smoky roasted aroma, silky body, and a taste of cocoa-pumpernickel.
3.7 Expected more by/from Central waters. Nose is chocolaty roasted nose as is taste. Malty taste. Average palate.
3.6 Very dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of bittersweet cocoa and chocolate. Pleasantly dry finish.
3.0 35,5cl flesje via Keepin' it Hoppy, Maastricht Alcoholpercentage van 5,5% Uitgeschonken in Grimbergen glas Uiterlijk: zwart met mooie volle cremelaag, trekt wel snel weg Aroma en smaak: neus is gebrande mouten, koffie, smaak is koffie, chocolade, licht bitter, gebrande mouten Conclusie: beetje te dunne porter
3.3 roasty Black coffee. lightly sweet. medium body. for a porter this is on the burnt/ ashy/ smokey end.
3.4 355 ml. bottle / split cost & bottle @ train station post Kerstbierfestival 2017. Black spacious big mocha bubbles. Nose is iron, low metallic, thin weak, mocha, grainy, herbal, bit vegetable, low roast, plastic, bark, thin bitter roots, bark,… Weak, bit of a disappointment, I expected a bit more.
3.6 Pours dark browj, small creamy, rather stable white head. Smell is sweet, roasty, tad burnt malts. taste is sharp, birnt ,rather low mf and Rather high carbo . Ok intensity. Mainly roasted malts. Ok.
3.8 Pours a deep brownish black from the bottle with fluffy tan head that dissipates to leave moderate lace. Aroma of mild chocolate notes, earthy hops, a hint of caramel and slight soy oxidation. Taste follows, nice chocolate, light earth, oxidation is covered by all the malty sweetness. A good porter.
3.8 From Feb 2008 I got this bottle in a trade with Grizzly Adams. Thanks Cole! It pours a dark brown with close to a 2finger head of off white foam. A few minutes in and the head retention is very good and there's some spotty lacing. The smell has notes of coffee, roasted malt, and milk. The taste has coffee and a roasted/burnt malt flavour up front with some milky flavour in the background. The roasted malt is quite bitter but works well with the semi sweetness of that milky flavour. It finishes very dry, from the roasted malt, and leaves a nice lingering aftertaste. Nice Porter with a medium mouthfeel and fairly low carbonation. I'm certainly glad I got to try it.
3.3 12 ounce bottle at home out of sampler 12 pack. No head when poured. Smell the malt. Kind of leathery aroma. Very deep brown in color. Taste a little chocolate, nuts, and is roasty in flavor. So smooth on the palate. Overall I like this and I considerer this a light winter warmer. Cheers!
3.6 Draft at Valhalla, 9th Ave, New York City. Pours very dark brown with a small off-white to beige head. Aroma of malt, milk chocolate, light roasted coffee, vanilla and dark fruits. Moderate sweetness and roasted bitterness. Medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Finish a little dry, milky chocolate.
3.8 Bottle in MV - picked up in CT. Pours rich brown with a creamy, tan head. Nice roasted malt aroma, with ample chocolate, some burnt toast. Medium sweet flavour with nice, gooey chocolate character, some raisins, brown bread, fudge, subtle burnt earth bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Pretty good balance in the finish, with nice chocolatey depth, further roast, cocoa, soft ash, dried berries. Great porter overall.
3.0 Thin body, pleasant slight tang, easy drinking but does not fit porter profile
