Cerveja Super Bock Abadia

Cerveja Super Bock Abadia

Bottle, can & keg: Pasteurised.

Launched in January 2006.

3.1 Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a medium size off-white foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of dry caramelized malts notes with light residual sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt with light residual sugar and a somewhat dry watery finish. Body is light with good carbonation. Not bad but a bit short on character.
2.6 Bottle @ airport bar, Lisbon. Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy - straw. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 180718
2.0 Bottle from Beers of Europe cons 2018-06-11 Uddingston… AR: bakers chocolate, wee brown sugar AP: amber clear, frothy ofwhite head F: fizzy, semi sweet, soya, syrup
2.7 No es una abadia. ES más bien una lager dulce y las alcohólica. No tiene el cuerpo necesario y demasiado azúcar. Se bebe y no es desagradable pero no hay mas
2.7 Aroma caramel, bread, copper colour with little to no foam, a little bit bitter with a sweet beggining. Light body with a bitter finish and little carbonation.
2.2 19-11-17 // bottle sharing in Frankfurt. Clear amber golden. Sweet malty, some caramel and hobey sweetness. Ok.
2.6 33cl Bottle. Clear amber colour, white head. Aroma of malts, grain, caramel, light toast, alcohol. Flavour follows, quite sweet, alcoholic feel to it. Light bodied. Passable.
2.7 A bottle from Jason’s in Muzha. Aroma: toast. Appearance: clear, golden brown, minimal head. Palate: medium-bodied and rather oily, average carbonation, not much doing at the finish. Taste: medium-sweet, malty finish, some heat from the booze. Not bad, partially vindicates its Super Bock cousin, which was extremely disappointing. I would drink this one again.
1.9 Bottle from intermarche Lagos Portugal. Pours copper with thin wispy off white head. Bread, cardboard, corn, caramel. Fairly sweet bread flavour with dry cardboard finish.
2.2 Clear copper and cola coloured body with a slight off-white head, about a centimetre tall. Aroma of light earth, a touch of caramelised sugars and a tiny bit of yeast. Light-bodied; Strong nutty and earthy flavour with a touch of toffee and yeast and a lot of cardboard and bland musty malt flavours - nothing too special. Aftertaste shows more cardboard, a lot of yeast and some sweetness from caramel and that’s about it. Overall, a pretty subdued beer without much flavour at all, and what is there is pale malt and cardboard with perhaps a bit of toffee and caramelised sugars. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Jason’s Market Place at Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan on 26-July-2017 for NT$40 sampled in my hotel room a few hours later on 26-July-2017.
2.9 Robe ambrée, fine mousse. Nez sur le caramel et les fruits secs. Bouche ronde et douceureuse qui manque de fraîcheur et de complexité. Pas du tout mon style.
2.0 Mainstream, macrobrewing... ok, but nothing more than that. Useless to describe aroma, taste and others. Drinkable.
3.2 Copper colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour are certainly sweet but when this one is ice cold the sweetness is bearable. Malty with a hint of milk chocolate.
3.1 Botella 0,33l. Abadia?
2.7 Bottle 33cl @Alma de Iberico, Guijuelo, Spain. A: Dark amber. T: Malt, caramel.
2.5 Olhão 20/7 2016. 33 cl bottle from Pingu Doce. I can understand that this is produced by using the "traditional recipe" and named after a Abbey. So I suppose that the Brewers is trying to convey that this is the original Super Bock (sounds almost like a superhero). Pouring dark amber with small white head. Disappears fairly fast leaving what looks like a urin sample for a patient with severe kidney problems. Aroma is quite bland. A little caramel and metal. Medium carbonation and lightly thick palate. Flavor is a bit heavyhanded on the caramel wagon. Quite sweet with almost no bitterness. A little alcohol in the aftertaste. Those monks at the Super Bock Abbey must be heavily into sweets.
2.6 Bottle bought in Tavira. Fizzy carbonation, nutty brown, does not produce a head. Malty aroma and caramelly taste. On the sweet side. Almost a winter warmer. Ok but too much caramel and sugar and too little else for my taste.
3.3 clear brown, smooth white to light brown had. aroma of malts and dark caramel. pleasant aroma, esp. for a macro. flavor is malty, a little sweet dry dark caramel too. nice mild floral hoppy balance.
2.8 Bottled. The aroma has caramel, hint of grass. Clear, amber coloured beer with an off -white medium-sized head. The taste is medium sweet, light toasted, caramelised. Light - medium bodied. Moderate carbonation.
2.9 330 ml bottle. Bought in a Tottus Supermarket in Santiago. Sweet malts, honey but lagerish anyway. Somehow amber, but ugly low head. Tasty, and i guess directing to belgium at least, but from another continent. AFtertaste is ok. not crazy about this to be honest, and bad cost-quality relation.
1.9 Botella 33cl (Oporto) Para nada es una cerveza tipo abadía, tiene aroma y sabor a caramelo y es excesivamente carbonatada, para no repetir
2.6 33cl bottle purchased at Rei dos Frangos rest. in Coimbra for 1.20euro. Much better than regular Super Bock
3.0 Bottle. Clear, copper body. Small, fizzy, white head. Yeast, malt, some smoke and caramel nose. Very, very sweet. Sugar. Caramel, yeast, malt and metallic flavour. Some smoke. Fruit and candy. Seems like a mix of a bock and an abbey dubbel. A bit too much sugar flavour and sweet taste. Medium to thin body. Medium amount of carbonation.
2.7 Drunk from 33cl bottle bought from supermarket in Carvoeiro. Slightly sweetish abbey style beer.
2.8 33cl bottle from Beers of Europe. Clear reddish amber colour with a fine slightly off-white head which disappears immediately. Aroma is fruity, caramel, malt. Taste is sweet, flavour begins very fruity (slightly artificial tasting fruits that is), caramel malts and that’s pretty much it. Not as bad as I thought it might be to be honest.
2.6 33cl Flasche. Hellbraunes Bier, flacher Schaum. Süsslich-fruchtiger Duft nach getrockneten Früchten. Geschmack auch recht süss und malzig.
1.6 Drank in bottle, Portugal. Average lager, bitter and less carbonated than the mainstream type. No distinctive characteristics.
2.9 From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Reading CPPHTP10 Ch12. This is not an abbey beer as its name suggest. More of a Marzen. It isnt too bad. Caramel taste and a bit alcoholic. To drink with care as its goes up to the head quickly.
1.8 330 ml. bottle sampled @ home. Brought back for from Portugal earlier last year (I actually forgot that I had this one). BBF 07/2016. No idea where this one fits in their range. Clear dark industrial text-book amber with a quickly gone tanned, light mocha head. Nose carries this weird herbal sticky insecticide note, heavy cloying ginseng & chamomile tea, unpleasant & very sticky. Taste is this very weird old candy, cardboard, ginseng, cloying very nasty industrial, hugely plastic sticky fruits, stale dusty ice tea, more dust… Plastic, honey, soda-like body, oily, rather watery,… I abhor sticky industrial lagers of this variety, their cloying nature really brings out the worst in them. Cloying in the worst way, shows some wear. I can see people liking but these notes are like a bad caricature for me. This is cloying in taste & a bit watery in mouth-feel on top, yikes.
