Costa Ricans have been enjoying this beer since 1924. Imperial is created from a balanced formula combining malts, grains and hops, without a pronounced overtone in its taste. It is what is known as a “centralized” beer. Adapted to a warm and spring-like climate, Imperial is Florida’s most popular and widely accepted beer, both nationally and internationally, and has thus become the favorite beer of Costa Rica.

1.7Very light uninteresting. Classic macro.
1.8Un peu malté par rapport à une HK, grosse pils lager classique, très clair, pas de longueur,
3.0Souvenir uit Zwitserland: biertje uit Costa Rica 😜. Ok Lager. Gewoon lekker.

2.9My beer of choice for my week in Costa Rica, January 2009. I packed a 330ml bottle for my home collection. It pours golden with a white head. Aromas & tastes of crackers, corn, grain, hints of citrus, hay, flora & malt. Moderate body. Dry moderate bitter finish. Enjoyable enough served cold
2.5Heldere gouden kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt moutig. Smaakt moutig dun. Maar in de tropen des te verfrissend.
2.507-08-20 // can at Jezioro Sasek Wielki in Poland.
Thanks G.. Bought in CR. can from last year. Past Bbd. Still solid and better than other macro lager.
1.2Cold, wet and fizzy. Pretty ordinary stuff to be honest. Ok when you need something to quench your thirst and that’s about all.
1.6It is hard to describe a beer that lacks flavors and comes across as very dull and flat. Nothing stands out that I can speak about. Too bad!
2.3My first Costa Rican beer, I located it at the only craft beer store in the Permian Basin. Using a glass mug for this sampling, the pour arrives a bright, clear yellow followed by a substantial head of snow white foam. I get a smell of corn and other grain. And it has an inoffensive taste of water, corn, light malt and just a touch of citrus. Think I’ll add a squeeze of lime later. Best served cold, very cold.
1.3Pours golden with a bubbly white head. Heavily carbonated. Aroma has harsh malt notes.Taste is kinda weak, corn and malt. Palate has sweetness to it, otherwise bland. Eh.
2.30,33 litre Bottle from Total Wine And Spirits, Laguna Hills, Ca. Golden with white head. Malts, hops, sweetness.
2.1Pours a light golden color with a thin white head. The aroma was kind of malty and sweet with some fruity notes. A little sweet and dry at the end. Not too bad of a beer. This is an OK, drinkable beer.
2.8Une bonne bière blonde parfaite pour des vacances dans ce magnifique pays qu est le Costa Rica !
2.012 ounce bottle
A forgettable and dull lager acts as nothing more than an accessible country tick for Costa Rica. If you want to know what mediocrity tastes like then this behaves as the perfect benchmark. Otherwise walk right past it at the bar or on the shelf.
AROMA / APPEARANCE
A bronze semitransparent base rests under the sticky white head. Grainy lemonade, buttered white toast, and faint hops try to catch one's attention but fade into the background like ambient noise.
FLAVOR / PALATE
Rinse water, creamy pie filling, and a splash of old lemons move listlessly over the tongue into an unfulfilling and mundane finish. The mercifully short taste of melting buttered toast exits to leave nothing on the palate. There's nothing to recommend this as anything other than a cheap rate.
3.312 oz. Best before 12/30/19, so we're good there. Aroma is lightly skunked, grain. Clear golden hue with a quickly collapsing white head. Taste is faintly sweet, fairly dry. Crisp, clean and refreshing. Much better than most international macro lagers. That being said, it's still a pale macro lager. If it wasn't for the light skunking, I'd say this is superior to any pale lagers BMC has to offer.
2.5Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet malt and light mineral flavor. Medium bodied. Sweet malt and light mineral linger.
3.212 oz. can at Salsa Bravo. Pours a clear, straw color, with a medium, frothy, white head. The aroma is hay, floral hops, water crackers, and pine. Sweet and malty, with a sharp, easy bitterness. Crisp, clean, and reasonable.
2.4Can. Pours golden with light head. Aroma is malts, sourish, some fruity notes, light. Taste is light, malts, some sourish and fruity notes. Very light and easy beer!
2.012 oz. can Pours a medium off white, well retained head, with moderate lacing, over an effervescent yellow (SRM 3) body......nose is mild malts, hints of hop herbs.....taste is mild toasted malt tones, light hops, finishing with very light bitterness......mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, high carbonation. This is a very light, simple beer which gets to the style, but is uninteresting. BJCP 6/3/6/3/5
2.4Aroma: grain & funk with some fruity malt
Appearance: clear golden, small white head
Flavour: Corn chips, some fruity malt
Palate: thin and finishes quick
3.0Lot of cans had drop damage.. hoping this wont explode... it did not, good.
Smell- weak, some hops.
Foam- thin, large in mouth, bit to watery side, weak bitter notes. Medium large foam to large side, cant pour 0.33 into 0.5 straight up, white, sticky foam, bit to medium thickness.
Appearance- clear, light, yellow, amberish..
Taste- weak watered citrus, weak sweetness, some nonalco feel to it, nothing special, but drinkable.
2.2Bottle poor into stemless wine glass from Ralph's. Appearance is clear straw yellow with nice sparkle, 1/2-finger width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is cardboard, mild fruit/tart fruit, earth. Taste is mild vaguely metallic, grain, European hops. Palate is light body with thin texture soft carbonation and dry finish as taste. Overall, sessionable and meant for very hot weather. Not much going on.
2.512 oz bottle. For the tick. Pours a light clear gold with light head. Aromas of skunk, grain and corn. Flavors of grain, corn syrup, and light fruity malts. Better than a Bud...
1.5Canette de 473 ml. Arôme de céréales et de métal. Goût de céréales industrielles. Bière fade mais rafraichissante.
2.7Persönliches Bierland Nr. 90
