2.6 Bottle pours out a apricot . Nose is old cardboard peach syrup and some odd note. Taste is more of the old oxidation apricot candy syrup. Both of them are not good both of them un drinkable
2.7 Bottle share, thanks Jeremy. Brownish orange color with a few white bubbles on top. Apricot in the aroma and some sugary sweetness. Very sweet overall, lots of sugar and malts go with a little bit of apricot. Better than the peach version.
3.2 orange with small white head, funky sour smell with fruits and fruity sourness, very sweet, abricot fruityness, slightly sour, sweet fruity finish, very little funk in taste, too sweet
3.4 Bottle(old). Orange pour with white bubbles. Peach, apricot, overly sweet aromas, a touch of oxidation. Peach and apricot Flavors, dry, sweet and oxidation.
2.7 Bottle split in the Fart Dungeon, SF, pleasure was all mine guys 28/01/16. Hazed golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is syrupy fruits, sweet apricot jam, straw, faint yeast. Taste comprises sweet apricot, mandarin, sugary, straw, faint spice, light wood. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a barely noticeable tarte wash. Sweet and messy.
2.0 330 ml bottle brought all the way across the Atlantic and the North American continent by Theydon Bois, who thought it fit to share it with his roommates for RBWG week. Thanks a fucken ton, Cloin. This one pours a hazy gold with a small white head. Cough drops, brother. Candy-like, weak, unhelpful cough drops. Sugars, oak, and earth. Light-medium bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a sweet, oxidized, somewhat tart mouthfeel. This is gross and weird.
1.7 Bottle. Hazy hay yellow liquid with medium white head. Aroma of artifical peach, apple, grain, alcohol and pear. Taste is medium sweet and light sour with notes butter, apricot, lemon, vinegar and butter. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Awful. Very buttery.
2.8 Nose is like super fruity hive loops. Super light in color. Taste isn’t bad. Mostly sugary sweetness meh.
2.9 Bottle shared in SF - many thanks to Colin. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. The nose has some damp hay, ripe lemon, grass, citrus rind. Medium sweet flavor with rich bready mad, sugary cities, dough. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sugary finish, more damp bread, ripe citrus, lemon. Pretty mediocre.
2.4 At Maakun’s. Pours a straw golden cup of joy. Smells of dried apricots sugar and dusty cardboard. Tastes mostly the same with the addition of a weird boozy sherrylike touch. 1 up for the master blend. Funky funky stuff, for the freaks.
2.2 Bottle shared at home. Slight hazy golden with small white head. Mainly unfermented wort, sugary, very dusty, dry cellar, light hay, maybe some apricot skins but I don’t get much fruit actually. Quite sweet and light sour. Medium bodied. Pretty bad.
2.4 375ml bottle. Pours a clear, golden orange with a small, fully diminishing, off-white head. Sweet aroma of apricots, oak and a hint of wheat. Sticky, sweet flavour of apricots, sugar, oak and straw with a slightly dry, sour finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Not great.
3.8 Sampled from a 12 oz corked green bottle this beer poured a dark amber color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left decent lacing. The aroma was musty, dryish, a hint of cardboard and a bit of apricot jam. The flavor was sweet and tangy apricot jam, sugar and yeast. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Quite tasty!
3.1 *Old rating, best before 11/05/14. Nettes fruchtiges nicht zu süßes Bier. Leichte Säure im Hintergrund, frisch, schöne weiche Aprikosen-Noten, nett.
3.1 250 ml. bottle @ home. Obtained from Dranken Geers. BBF 23/12/2015. This is the last beer I still haven’t tried until now from the Chapeau brand. Lightly hazy golden, bubbles only on the sides. Nose is chemicals, huge artificial sweeteners mixed with chemical sourness that could almost be mistaken with minor funk, there is a huge sweetness here which is pure sugar mixed with something that could be interpreted as fruit, I am more inclined to say candied mandarin than apricot. Taste is all chemicals, huge bang of sweetness, hard to pin fruit which makes me think heavily of fruit slices candy as opposed to actual candy, lots of sweeteners with reveal a faint & typical chemical sourness to them that is always common to them, lots of sweetness. Body is chemcial & sugar + sweetener loaded. It isn’t offensive like some sweetened / chemical beers, as a soft drink it is even mildly enjoyable. The clear use of lambic on the front label is an insult to the style & heritage of it.
1.6 Bottle . Pours clear blonde, very small ( nearly no ) head . Smell is again, very sweet and harsh . Taste is sweet, earthy fruity / Sweet candy fruit . tiny aspect of lambic funk ( nearly none ) . aftertaste is sugary apricot syrup - kinda thing ... No, we haven’t got a winner here .
3.0 Pours clear straw gold color, with a thin 1-finger head that was gone quickly. Aroma was not what I was expecting from other lambics I’ve had. Yeasty funky, with light notes of apricot and wood underneath. Body is light, yet a bit syrupy. Not as effervescent as most other lambics I’ve had. Sweet-tart flavor up front, mixed with yeast and a note of lactic sourness. The flavor becomes identifiable as apricot at the back, mixing with a vanilla wood note.
3.0 Couleur dorée orangée, mousse qui disparait. Nez d’abricot fermenté en barrique. Gout de vieux abricots sucrés, notes tanniques et barrique. Bon corps. Fin sucrée acidulée abricots. Moi j’aime vraiment bien.
2.6 Bottle from Dranken Geers. Pours clear dark golden with a thin off white head. Aroma of artificial apricot cordial with cardboard malt and wort. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to light moderate acidic lurking behind the sugar. Light bodied with soft carbonation. This ain’t no Fou...
2.1 Een van de mindere abrikozenbieren dat ik al geprobeerd heb, dan hebben ze betere bieren bij chapeau
2.7 Helder geel bier zonder schuim. Smaak is zuur en fruitig, Lambic style. Goed te drinken op een warme dag. Etiket is inmiddels gewijzigd.
3.8 Liked this a lot more than the notes. Winey in texture and taste with more sweetness than one would hope but I found it to be clean apricot sweetness. Some mild sourness. I enjoyed it.
2.3 Bottle from Village de la bière in Strasbourg. Hazy gold pour with no head. Aroma is not too bad, nice sweet apricot aroma, some solventy notes nonetheless, tropical fruit, really soapy. Taste is fruity, light apricot, not much lambic going on, sweet. Palate is pretty much flat, light-med bodied. Bad, but far from as bad as these guys can make it bad.
2.9 Clear golden colour, pinkish hue, white head. Aroma of yoghurt, typical De Troch ’spoiled yoghurt’, apricot, sweetener. Fruity flavour, apple, apricot, light sour, sweet hints. Finish sour(ish) apple, lingering sour notes, some yoghurt. Rather enjoyable. The last one of the Chapeau fruit drinks for me. (25cL bottle @ home)
2.7 Bottle from « Au comptoir de la bière" - Callian. Pours with no head at all. Bitter flavors. Clear orange body. Refreshing but lacks bubbles and apricot taste
1.8 Bottle (250 ml). Hazy yellow/golden with a small white head and little lacing. Aroma is of apricots/peaches juice, light acidity, sugar and floral notes. Taste is also of apricot juice, light acidity, medium sweetness and floral finish. Light garbagy and metallic notes too. Light body. Medium carbonation. It’s actually not that bad considering it’s from Chapeau. So much better than the Banana or Exotic version. It’s actually apricot juice with some carbonation. Not offensive, especially when cold enough.
1.6 Bottle at home, from Beers of Europe. It pours golden orange with a small white head. The nose is sweet, sugary, tangy, artificial apricot and tinned peach. The taste is much the same.....sweet, artificial, sugary, apricot, tangy, iced tea and wood with a sweet finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Pretty awful really. Sweet, tangy and nasty.
