3.2Bottle from Nisa, Hebden Bridge. Amber-orange with next to no head. Its lambic style is very evident, as is the banana flavour which is aromatic in the beer too, however it does feel artificial to the brew.
0.7sweet and sour, candy banana aroma and taste, way to powerfull. no carbonation, no head, but that was intended i presume. don't like it. down the drain it went
3.8375 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of ripe banana, pineapple, mango, melon, pear, red apple, honey, candi sugar, wheat, and bread; with light notes of hay, straw, grass, oak, funk, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/light funky yeast, bananas, and pale malt/sugar sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of ripe banana, pineapple, mango, melon, pear, red apple, honey, candi sugar, wheat, and bread; with light notes of hay, straw, grass, oak, funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of banana, pineapple, mango, melon, pear, red apple, honey, candi sugar, wheat, bread, hay, straw, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/light funky yeast, bananas, and pale malt/sugar sweetness; with a good malt/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Minimal dryness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick/syrupy/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.5%. Overall this is a very good sweetened fruit lambic style. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/light funky yeast, bananas, and pale malt/sugar sweetness; very smooth and refreshing to drink, with the mildly tart/tangy/drying finish. The bananas are more pronounced in the aromas, but they don't feel overwhelming or artificial overall. Authentic fruit flavors. Very well balanced in the taste with sweetness, fruity yeast complexity, and a touch of funk. A very enjoyable offering. A lot better than I expected. Very pleasing to drink.
2.7Bottle at La Putika. Strange smell, banana, clear yellow colour with small white head. Taste of banana, lemon, bit sour, sweet, banana in finish. Poor choice
pale, hazy, medium sweetness, lightly bitter,
1.3Gimmick-øl. Sjov at præsentere til blindsmagning. Dufter lidt af asparges. Sød, lidt kvalm smag.
2.4F: thin, white, quick diminishing.
C: gold, clear.
A: malty, banana, light lambic sour fruity, lemon, green banana.
T: banana lambic, sour fruitiness, lemon, sugary, average but not disaster, medium body, low carbonation, 25cl bottle from Cora Woluwe-Saint-Lambert in Brussels.
3.0Shared from bottle at Maakun’s. Massive thanks to Maakun for sharing this whale with me. Golden with almost no head. Sweet dried banana, overripe banana, light sour lambic, lemon juice, Napoleon sour lemon hardcandy, mild wet cardboard. Over medium sweet and light sour. Medium body, no carbonation. Surprisingly quite nice fruity aperatif, unexpected for a banana lambic.
2.7Bottle shared. Clear golden with a few bubbles. Sweet malts, banana candy, light sugary grain syrup, soft funk and hay with a light touch of puke. Medium sweet and light sour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. One of the better Chapeau beers I’ve had.
2.3Well, it delivers. Lots of banana taste and flavour. Can’t be disappointed. Tastes like candy.
2.2Golden Yellow Colour, medium-low carbonation, smells like ripe banana but a little bit too artificial, like banana jelly gums. Tastes very sweet at first, notes of grape and banana, sourness takes over quickly and finishes slightly bitter.
This was my first lambic beer, interesting but did not get me hooked.
2.0Bottle @ Brussels apartment. Clear bronze pour with a small head. Notes of sweet sweet bananas, artificial and fizzy.
2.5Pours clear pale golden with a tiny white head. Aroma of ripe banana, banana peel, skumbananer, synthetic vanilla and grains. Taste of sweet banana, a very weak tart note, candy and gummi bears.
2.0From bottle. Pours a clear golden with a bubbly white head. Aroma has looots of banana, grains, light banana peel, sugar, skumbanan, light vinegar. Taste is sweet, sour, fruity, grainy, lots of banana. Low carbonation and an oily body.
2.0Bottle. Pours clear yellow with small bubbly white edges. Aromas of sweet banana, citrus, vinegar. Taste is banana, sugar, subtle tartness and citrus. Fucking disgusting.
2.1Bottle. Pale yellow, no head. Aroma is dominated by banana, and with some sourness. Taste is sweet, and with some strange bitterness in the end. It was a fine beer to try out, but i don’t dig it.
2.5Bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours hazy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of banana, somewhat sour. Medium sweetness, light sourness to taste. Light body. Not to my taste but mrs enjoyed it.
3.3250ml bottle. Pale sparkling yellow, with a thin vanishing head. Apricot, elderflower, and floral notes dominate the aroma, along with a touch of fruit vinegar. Flavour is shot through with peach notes and the distinctive sharp taste of white bread with balsamic vinegar. Tart aftertaste of apricots. Not much in the way of banana flavours, and most likely a niche beer, but one that I enjoyed nonetheless.
1.2Bottle. Pours in almost clear pale body with low white head. Aroma has strong bubblegum banana sweetness, artificial. Taste has piss like artificial banana sweetness. Oh god what I am doing with my life. Body is full, no carbonation, sticky.
1.6Fed this to my slightly alcoholic squirrel monkey, which shrieked with enjoyment and rated it maximally in all categories, then fell over dead; killed by banana extract poisoning. R.I.P. Robert Paulson.
1.725cl bottle. Pours almost clear deep golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of very sweet banana juice, no beer. Taste of very sweet banana and mild tart fruits, strange!
1.3Bottle. Orange colour, almost no foam. Very sweet nose of banana candy, sweeteners. Very sweet. Disgusting.
2.61/IV/16 - 25cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: 17/IX/17 (2016-300)
Clear blond beer, small irregular white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of ripe banana, baked banana, sweet, little funky. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: surprisingly sour start, citric acidity, bit artificial banana flavour, very sugary sweetness. Aftertaste: citric, banana candy, lemony, little bitter, some green banana. Way better than expected. Was really fearing the worst, here.
2.7Arôme chimique type Banane Bam’s.
Lambic achtig.
1.0(5) Average at best. I had it after the cherry lambic - and this was much better, maybe that is why I am giving it should high rating. Fruitful and fun.
