4.0 Dark orange colour, white head, aroma of oranges, caramel, peach and malts. Taste is light bitter, slightly sweet and slightly sour. Light body, slick texture, average carbonation.

3.7 Pours very slightly hazy pale amber with two fingers of rocky light tan head, excellent retention and lacing. (4/5) Nose is caramel malt, bready yeast, mild floral. (7/10) Taste is mild sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, fairly quick bitter finish. (4/5) Charlevoix are a solid brewery who produce consistently excellent beers. And as the style goes, this is a pretty good ESB. The problem is, even a pretty good ESB is fairly pedestrian fare. A little variation on the theme would have been welcome - maybe a little dry hopping to produce a more floral nose, for example? Don’t get me wrong, I could easily session this, and I’d like to try it on tap - but it’s not as much fun as the rest of their brews are. (15/20)

3.6 Pours a clear amber with a medium-high white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of cereals, caramel and floral, earthy hops. Slight nuts also. Taste is pretty dry, I at least cannot feel any sweetness. Light to medium bitterness (I remember it being unbareably bitter when I first started drinking craft beer, lol). Flavors are of cereals again and a little husky. Body is light and carbonation somewhat high. Overall a nice ESB, a style I don’t drink/brew often enough (that or maybe the simple bitter, too).

2.8 500Ml Bottle. poors a clear amber orange color, very thick sustained head . smell is quite floral with some kind of spices. also have that iron smell to it. quite shy to tell you the truth a bit bitter in the after taste and a bit of floral sweetness to it. to tell you the truth I expected more comming from this brewery.... still not bad and achieves to make me want to drink it all, but it’s most likely that I’m not going to buy it again

3.6 Pour is light caramel with a finger of foamy cap and great lacing. Nose is bread/yeast, caramel and floral hops. Taste is a nice sweet, bready malt with a lingering bitter finish. Despite the typo this stuff is exactly as advertised.

3.8 Clear amber with tan head. Nice aroma of grilled bread, caramel, honey, malt sweetness. Nice floral hops in the mix. Taste is mostly on the sweet side with a nice bitterness in the finish. Light body with a nice carbonation.

2.5 Bottle. Pours crystal clear orange with a small off-white head that dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is corny(!), caramel, grass. Flavor is medium sweet, corny, caramel, malty, grass and a floral hint. Minimal bitterness. Medium light body, light bitter finish.

3.8 Appearance: Pours a light copper colour with a thin white head (about one finger) that dissipates quickly. Smell: Yeast, dough, malt Taste: Malt, yeast, hint of citrus and caramel on the finish Overall: This beer had all of the bread/yeast characteristics and lots of malt that I expect from an ESB. It also had an interesting finish with a bit of citrus and caramel that lasted only a few seconds. Overall, a very good ESB.

3.8 Pours a very hazy copper with an average sized white head that leaves massive lace. Aroma is floral, toast, mild citrus and caramel maltiness. Flavour is floral, fruity, mild bitterness, mild citrus, caramel and toast. Tasty and session-able beer.

3.3 "Blonde yellowish appearance with a thick, creamy head, maybe a bit much. Has some floral and citrus aromes. Hops are nice and strong. Lacing appears thick, and lots. Mouthfeel is milky, a bit of bitterness and some malts. Smooth going down. Pretty refreshing."

3.7 Olfactif: Des accents floraux ainsi que des notes de petits bonbons et de caramel. Un nez pas très puissant, mais doux et raffiné. Visuel: Ambrée, claire, avec une belle mousse rocailleuse, de bonne persistance, mais qui présente des difficultés à s’accrocher aux parois du verre. Gustatif: L’attaque présente des notes de poivre, enrobé de caramel doux, avec une finale en douce amertume florale et terreuse, qui persiste en longue trainée sèche sur l’arrière de la langue. De petites fleurs aux accents de rose et de petites notes de jujube et de toffee constituent la palette des flaveurs avec des accents de terre en finale. D’un équilibre parfait et d’une texture bien soyeuse, cette ESB tire son charme de la douceur de ses accents et de son équilibre des saveurs.

3.2 Pours cloudy amber and frothy head. Aroma of wheat and grains. Taste is grainy, barley, slightly sweet. Good.

3.6 Rating #802 . Pours a dark amber with a foamy off-white head that dissipates slowly, medium-strong retention. Aroma is mild toasted malt, hints of wildflowers. Hop presence is significant, giving the bitter character, but the breadiness of the malt is what makes this beer. Creamy mouthfeel Well balanced, medium bodied ale that is easy to drink. Cheers.

3.9 Bière cuivrée-orangée, légèrement voilée, qui mousse avec modération. Le nez laisse poindre un peu de caramel et – le temps d’un court instant – de houblon. En bouche, une douce danse mi-sucrée mi-amère s’étale de la langue au palais. Le dosage et l’équilibre de cette bière sont ses deux plus grandes qualités elles suffisent amplement à rendre ce produit exemplaire.

3.4 Cuivrée et voilée, avec un petit collet de mousse de couleur crème. Nez de malt et de caramel. Goût herbeux, floral et de malt. L’amertume est plutôt présente tout au long, mais se fait surtout sentir à la fin.

3.3 D’une belle robe dorée et légèrement orangée, cette ESB présente des arômes engageants de malt, de caramel et de camomille. On oublie presque l’on tient un verre de Bitter. Rien pour retrouver le droit chemin, l’amertume typique de ce style de bière n’est pas très tranchante, le malt et le caramel qu’on retrouve au nez reprenant leur besogne, ce qui est un peu dommage. Pas mauvaise pour autant, mais rien pour écrire à sa mère.

3.7 500ml bottle. Pours clear amber with a off-white head. Aroma of herbal and citrusy hops, brown sugar with a hint of toasted malts. Taste is caramel, toffee and biscuity malts, a bit too sweet. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, light bitterness finish.

4.0 Orangé, légèrement voilée et coiffé d’une mince couche de mousse beige qui s’estompe rapidement, cette ESB offre un délicieux nez de houblons aromatiques supportés par une riche odeur de malt. En bouche, elle est légèrement crémeuse et offre une belle amertume toute en rondeur. Le nez est très représentatif du goût. Excellente bière très bien balancé et justement houblonnée.

3.4 Bière orangée cuivrée, parfaitement limpide, effervescence modérée, surmontée d’un col un peu beige, mousseux rocailleux, un peu mince mais résistant et qui laisse une jolie dentelle sur les parois du verre. Arômes sucrés bien malté, sucre d’orge, caramel et mélasse. En bouche, un peu pétillant, un peu mousseux, avec une belle onctuosité au palais. Au goût, on retrouve le malté sucré (sucre d’orge surtout), et c’est suivi d’un agréable houblon floral menant à une finale à l’amertume plutôt légère. Un certain goût alcoolisé est perceptible. Une bonne bière, sans plus!

3.4 rousse aux arômes de caramel et houblon,fleural.en bouche caramel et une finale amêre de houblon.J’ai combiné sa avec un fromage à tartiné de chèvre,l’âcreté du fromage avec l’amertume du houblon s’annule pour manifesté un goût de caramel écossais....sublime.

3.5 Very good for an ESB. Really a cut above the rest. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Hoppy malt nose. Finishes with lasting dose of bitterness and some woodiness as well. Nice beer for style. Bottle from Delires du Terroir.

4.0 Ambré. Très malté. Léger goût de sirop d’érable. Fine amertume. Un peu floral. Légère effervescence. Bien représentative du style. Caramel. Bière de soif.

3.3 Mince col de mousse sur une liqueur cuivrée presque dorée. Mince. Au nez, elle a des relents de céréales, de sucres et de fruits jaunes. Elle rappelle vraiment une blonde aussi en bouche, mais avec du corps, une belle rondeur sucrée aux fruits, et une petite d’amertume finale, juste pour dire. C’est sans doute l’une des bières les plus conventionnelles de Charlevoix, mais ça ne lui enlève pas ses qualités et ses mérites. Très agréable, mais convenue.

3.8 Belle couleur dorée, avec une mousse blanche généreuse. Bouquet de houblon, de parfums floraux (citron subtil). En bouche, l’amertume est d’abord très évidente. Cette rousse plutôt pâle nous amène des notes de zeste de citron, de pain, de houblon. Vraiment un bon petit produit qui amène une finale amère à souhait. J’adore les étiquettes des produits «Vache folle», de cette microbrasserie qui est l’une de mes favorites au Québec. Bon produit! Cheers!

3.0 500 ml bottle. Pours a very light, clear amber with a massive head. Aroma is subtle but brings fruit and mild floral scents. Taste has a fairly assertive hop bitterness and very mild biscuit but not much else of interest. Get a little bit of alcohol and the chalky grain flavors typically associated with lagers and pilsners. Relatively thin, moderate carbonation and a fairly bitter lingering after-taste.

4.4 Outre l’étiquette, cette bière est le prolongement de la qualité de cette microbrasserie. Équilibre somptueux entre le malt, la levure et le houblon...on croit prendre une London Pride ESB mais non, c’est québécois. Une excellente bière.

3.6 Bottle (500 ml). Clear orange/golden with a medium fully lasting creamy off-white head and solid lacing. Aroma is of malt, flower and fruits with a touch of sweetness. Taste is moderately sweet with malt, flower and slight bitter finish. Mouthfeel is slightly dry. Medium body. Extremely drinkable but not so complex and quite different from othe EBS I’ve tasted so far. A pretty enjoyable beer!

3.9 500ml bottle. Good colour and head on this one, but crystal clear. Taste and smell are a nice balance of bitter hops, malt, biscuit and a touch of fruit. Body was smooth and not to heavy or thin. Overall, a really enjoyable ESB.
