3.8Black pour with some mocha head. Chocolate and roasty aromas. Taste is chocolatey and creamy. Not too sweet, very nice
3.650cl Bottle @ 2D2Dspuma Tienda, Barcelona, Spain.
Dark brown colour with thin white head.
Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits.
Taste is roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee, sweet.
Medium to full body, low carbonation.
3.4From mon frere: pours black with a small head. Aroma is chocolatey, sugary, malty. Taste is kind of sweet... not cloying. Some chocolate. Smooth and creamy body. Not huge on flavorside. Pretty light for an IS. Not bad.
3.3500ml bottled 2016-09-13. Pour pitch black with reddish notes. Minimal off-white foam that don’t last. Aroma of sweet coffee, milky and nuts. Taste of cold bitter coffee, if I go deeper, I can find some chocolat and some spices. High carbonation and thin texture for the style. Dry and medium body. Long bitter finish.
3.7Tomada de caña en el Lupulo Feroz.
Espuma beige poco persistente. Cerrada
Cuerpo medio.
Torrefacto.
Echo en falta mas cacao o cafe.
Correcta.
Esperaba más.
3.8Bottle
Aroma-chocolate, nuts
Appearance-brown, hazy, tan foam,
Taste-medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour,
Plate-full body, creamy, lively, long finish,
Overall- very good
3.8Bottle. Clear brown body, small mocha head with average to poor retention, almost no lacing. Aroma of wood charcoal, milk, burned toast, blackberry jam and hits of leather. Taste of condensed milk, well done toast, blackberry jam, mild herbs and toffee. Very light for the ABV. A desert.
3.1A thin light tan head on a chocolate body. The nose is chocolate and sweet malt with a slightly disconcerting vegetal element. The body is surprisingly thin for an imperial. The taste, unfortunately follows suit. Chocolate, caramel and cream are well blended but that slightly vegetal je ne sais quoi lingers in the back of the taste as well. It is not bad for what it is, but what it is is not much.
3.8Tap. Bottle color with beige head. Aroma is chocolate, lacto. Taste is chocolate, lacto, some ash, quite sweet, a hint of spiciness in the back. Silky mouthfeel. Very drinkable and very nice.
3.7Aroma- Milk, chocolate, roast malts, alcohol Appearance- Black to extra dark ruby. Little to no head retention. Taste- milk, cocoa nibs, lactose sweetness, cold coffee, carmel. Palate- medium bodied, somewhat sticky and a bit sweet but not cloying. Overall - Good milk stout, very smooth and quaffable. Not as thick as I was expecting.
3.5Bottle shared with Inoven, TomHendriksen and Roelzie1986 @ random tasting. Very nice deep dark red-brown color with a medium sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, some milk chocolate, lightly dusty, lightly bitter, slightly toasted malts. Decent to medium body, decent carbonation. Ok beer.
3.8Flesje gedeeld met Tom, Benzai en Roelzie1986. Donker amberkleurig tot donkerbruin bier. Aroma is fruitig en caramelachtig. Smaak is caramelachtig. Weinig nasmaak, ietsje caramelachtig.
3.0Benzai shared this bottle. The beer has a medium offwhite head. The beer has a darkbrown/red colour. And a nice sweet finisch.
3.9500ml bottle shared with brother. Aroma: nice coffee, caramel, chocolate, subtle candied fruits. App: minimal white head, dark brown, not much retention but little lacing. Taste and palate: medium to full body, creamy, medium sweetness, subtle bitter finish. Overall: Thought I had rated this one. Pretty good. Love that’s is not too much on the candied fruits.
4.0Pours deep brown with medium tan head. Nose is coffee. Aromas are roasted malts, coffee, dark fruits, with a milky hint. Average carbonation, oily texture. Long toasty and sweet finish. Great job.
3.6On tap. Color : dark brown ale with nice brown head. Nose : strongly aromas of coffee and roasted malt. Aromas : coffee and malt. Texture is medium, low carbonation.
4.250cl bottle, served in tulip glass. Pours black with beautiful beige head. Both aroma and taste are roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, lactose and hints of vanilla. The aftertaste is like Mocha, so delicious, and slightly bitter. Full body (very creamy), perfect carbonation. Excellent.
4.4Pours an opaque black with big tan head. Aroma is of dark chocolate, espresso, burnt caramel, and cranberry. Tastes of dark chocolate, espresso, cherry, burnt caramel and sugar. Has a light body for a stout. This beer is fizzy, goes down smooth and easy with low bitterness and sweet aftertaste. Also hides its alcohol very well.
4.3Opaque black color with no visible activity. Creamy brown 1 finger sparkly head, lasting around 10 minutes, with strong legs.
Aromas of pleasant woody roasted nuts and toffee, though a little faint. Flavors of light coffee and cocoa, nuts, dark fruits, toffee, and herbal spices. Highly roasted bitter taste with low sweetness. Also a little vinous from the fruits.
Milky smooth medium body with prickly carbonation. Strong bitter finish of medium length, ending with a fruity dark berries, cherry feel, and spicy herbs. Roasted and oaky feel lingering on the tongue.
Overall one of my favorite sour stout having incredible body and complexity. Although not the most visually appealing nor strong on the smell, it have some of the most delicious flavors and a great refreshing feel.
3.8500 ml thanks to cards04. Dark pour. Some chocolate and lactose. Chocolate nose. Creamy.
3.9Drank with Bram while watching House of Cards 14-4-2016. Fine beer. Soft, milky start. Ending has a very strong chocolate taste. Like it. Only the taste could have been more ’full’.
3.7On tap at BBF. Black colour with tan head. Roasted aroma. Roasted taste, slightly sweet, slightly spicy. Medium body.
3.5Tasted from the tap on the 04/03/2016 at the Barcelona Beer Festival. Almost black colour with a creamy head. Aroma of milks, chocolates, roasted malts and molasses. Taste is milk chocolate, molasses and some caramel. Strong and sweet finish. Next one please!
