3.1Bottle at Haymarket Pub in Chicago, October 21, 2011.
Instead of dessert, I drank this beer. Extremely sweet with aroma and taste of mostly raspberries. 5% alcohol, what are you talking about?
3.8Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Tulip.
Appearance: Gorgeous red with thick pink head and nice lacing.
Aroma: All raspberry - tart and sweet.
Taste: Mostly just tastes like raspberries, fairly sweet ones at that. That is some light tartness at the finish, but I am really not getting much complexity.
Palate: Moderate carbonation, fairly light but juicy body, somewhat tart finish.
Overall: This is just pure raspberry juice. Too simple, but no doubt tasty, and quite refreshing.
2.8Bottle. Pours a mahogany brown with a thin to medium sized off white head. Sweet raspberries, fuzzy and full of seeds. Very sweet, medium bodied, lightly sour. Sourness isn’t as big as the cloying sweetness though and gets overtaken rather quickly. More big raspberry flavor, seedy again. Finishes with more sweet raspberry syrup, and a bit of a sour candy flavor.
3.5Raspberry and a hint of cherry in the aroma while the appearance is red-amber. The flavor is heavy on the raspberries and has an edge of tartness. Not much beer or ale flavor to it, pretty good otherwise.
2.7bottle. notes of sweet raspberry juicy fruits with a touch of leather cowhide. some light doughy cocoa peaks its head. too sweet, though it could have been worse.
3.5Sampled from an8.4 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy red-plum color with a small pink head that left a touch of lacing. The aroma was sweet tangy raspberry with notes of sugar and red meat. The flavor was tart and tangy raspberry with a sugary and yeasty undertone. The finish was long, tart and tangy berry. Medium body. Nice.
3.4Reddish pour. White head. Sweet raspberry candy/sorbet aroma and some cran-raspberry also. Flavor is sweet and lightly tart. Lots of cran raspberry flavors.
3.4275ml bottle (S. Brevinga Alus Salons, Riga)
7- Very sweet and bold raspberry, I hope it’s not juice.
3+ Light ruby red. Pink loose frothy head.
7 Super fruity raspberry retronasals. Great fruity beer, may be sweet, but moreishly so.
4 Lovely sharp tingle at the back of the mouth. Late finish has lovely wheaty grains.
13 OK, this is a one trick pony, basically a raspberry bomb. But to crank the formula up to 5% and ensure it’s nicely sharp and sour too makes it just so full of guilty pleasure. Totally hides 5%, that quantity of alcohol didn’t have a chance of fighting those flavours.
3.4A: The beer pours a deep, dark red color with a soapy pink head.
S: Intense raspberry nose almost like raspberry pie filling or candies. Quite a bit of sugary sweetness, but somehow it’s not cloying.
T: Big time raspberry flavor with lots of sugar and sweetness to it. There is actually some tartness to it which is a pleasant change of pace.
M: Light to medium in body with a moderate carbonation.
O: I liked this a little bit better than the cherry/kriek, but still not my favorite "framboise".
3.9Good platte cleaner. Like it.
4.2Very unentertaining bottle, but I bought it because it was cheap and form a reputable brewery. 8.4 oz bottle.
Pours into my champagne flute a murky pinkish red with hints of brown and a foamy lightly pink head.
Smell is of raspberry, a pinch of funk and malt, similar to New Glarus Raspberry Tart but with a slight funk.
The taste is also similar to Rasberry Tart, though not quite as flavorful. It tastes like tart raspberry candy which is always welcome in a fruit lambic style.
The mouthfeel is nice, the drinkability is through the roof, moreso than Raspberry Tart.

3.3Bottle at Trebenzios in Wilmington. Deep purple color. Aroma and taste of massive fruit. Not subtle. But not too sweet, and not sour either. It is what it is, truth in advertising.
3.5Sample from bottle. Still entering my ratings from the Glunz Beer Expo last April. Nice reddish color in glass with some foam. Excellent raspberry smell; nothing cloying or artificial. Just tastes like a nice Belgian raspberry beer (as opposed to, say, a raspberry Lifesaver). No tartness. Sweet fruit flavor with some malts and very little bitterness.
3.2Pours a red-brown with a thin white head. Aroma is all raspberries. Flavor is once again all raspberries both sweet and tart, but not overpowering. A pretty good lambic.
2.9Pours ruby red with thick pink head and foamy lacing. Strong note of raspberry. Same with taste.
3.4Tiny 8.4oz bottle. Has a ruby tinge with a small layer of white and pink foam. Nose is straight up sweet raspberries that could almost be mistaken for a dark cherry aroma. Interesting flavor profile that is a little more tart and fizzy than I expected (this is a good thing). The sweetness hits towards the back end, but is quickly followed an explosive tart raspberry note. Mouthfeel is medium with a lively carbonation. The finish is sticky and lingers in your mouth with the consistency of pink lemonade. I love raspberries, but this beer is just a little too sweet and one dimensional for my taste. If you want raspberries done for a beer drinkers palate try the Amarosa from Lost Abbey.
4.5Top-notch fruit beer....perhaps distinguishable from other lambic raspberries by a bit thinner palate and a bit less velvety mouthfeel, but i had to ponder and re-sip to find that distinction...
4.08.4 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a reddish/purple color with about an inch light pink head. Head retention is decent, and there’s a lot of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is all sweet raspberries and candy sugar. Taste is the same as the aroma, it’s mostly sugary sweet raspberries. A little bit of tartness comes out once the beer warms up some, but for the most part it’s a mostly sweet fruity brew. Since I love sweet raspberries, that’s a very good thing. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a little syrupy and has decent carbonation. Drinkability is good too, pretty easy to drink. I’d buy this again!
3.3Pours a cloudy amber with thin white head. Has a very nice rasberry fruity aroma. Taste is rasberry some light malt. Palate is very nice light body, nice carbonation. Finish is very fruity mostly rasberry ending with a crisp tart flavor which helps to balance the sweetness and some light malt. Overall a very nice and refreshing lambic.
3.38/18/10. Clear bright red pour - reminds me of red jello - with a filmy white head. The aroma is big sweet and sour raspberry, smells like real fruit, and even has a hint of that socky cheese coming in. The flavor, however is hugely and overly sweet. It’s like sugar covered raspberry candy. Phew.
3.7Was lucky to pick this up for my girl when we were in Jersey. Pours an ever so slightly amber color, not reddish like I was expecting. Aroma has plenty of cherry up front with a little malt and tomato in the back end. Flavor has a ripe cherry taste that is both sweet and tart. Some malt is present in the background. Leaves a nice and tart cherry taste. Yummy
3.5Pours hazy maroon with thick, red tinted white head. Aroma is pure raspberries. Taste of the same with light sourness. Thick mouthfeel. Way too sweet and not my style but still would be a good dessert beer.
3.8Poured from small bottle, enjoyed on vacation in San Francisco. Aroma is pretty much like fresh raspberries. Appearance is a cloudy red with a white head. Taste is like fresh raspberries and rather sour aftertaste. I’m not one for lambics but this is pretty tasty stuff.
3.7Bottle. Notes of raspberry and little else. Dark medium raspberry red hue with an average foamy pink head that mostly diminished and left some lace. Flavor of sweet raspberry and tart with a slight sour finish. Palate is medium bodied and prickly carbonation. Overall a very fruity beer but kind of one dimensional. I’d like some more sourness and funk but still delicious.
3.1Bottle. Poured hazy reddish color with moderate frothy off-white head that mostly ;ated with fair lacing. Good tart cherry aroma. Medium body with smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate cherry sweet & sour flavor with a solid tart fruit and small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. Drinkable fruit beer.
4.0Big red pour with a pink head. Aroma is raspberry and candy sugar with some light vinegar notes. Flavor is again raspberry with light vinegar, funk, yeast, winey sourness and a dose of barley malt. High carbonation keeps sweetness at bay but it is very sweet. This beer needs to be drank at cellar temps because when it is too cold it just loses all character except fruity sweetness.
4.1Slightly lighter and less carbonated than other lambics. Nose and taste of sour raspberry and other fruits. Rated 1/14/03
3.7Drank from a 8.4 oz. Reddish and light brown in color. I can smell the raspberries and I can taste the raspberries and it is very tart.
3.2From a 8.4 oz.Dark Red ,cloudy, minimal head, white foam, full body, thick feel, fizzy,.Cheap Lambic, It’s very tart. Taste parts of cranberries.
3.58.4oz bottle from City Beer in SF
Appearance: Pours a deep beery read with a light red (pink) head, some lacing left in the glass
Aroma: Raspberries and sweet malts
Taste: Tart raspberries with slight sweet finish
I really enjoyed this beer. This would taste great with ice cream or just for desert by itself
