Chouffe Houblon IPA / Dobbelen IPA Tripel

Bottle: Unfiltered

Ingredients: Water, barley malt, hops, yeast, invert sugar syrup

A unique marriage between the English tradition of IPAs, the new American revolution of Imperial IPAs and the classic Belgian way of brewing.
Houblon Chouffe, although very much hopped as it is, showcases the unique balance between a very strong IPA and a very special Belgian Tripel exclusively created for this ale (Big malty body, distinct dryness, expressive estery fruitiness). - IBU: 59, Original Gravity: 1092

3.8 Botella de 33 cl. Fecha de consumo preferente 09/2023. Color amarillo con carbonatación media y dos dedos de espuma. Aroma a miel, pomelo, cilantro, naranja. Sabor a pomelo, cilantro, naranja, pino. Cuerpo medio, equlibrada entre dulzor y amargor, alcohol presente pero sin molestar, bastante rica, buena cerveza sin duda.
3.8 Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Aroma is very sweet - fruit sugar - with a boozy burn. Hazy-opaque gold. Thick fluffy foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Resinous. Quinine. A sour edged which is actually quite vinous. Followed by a sugared citrus streak. Develops a real honey streak, albeit the booze makes me think of some sort of sore throat lozenge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long finish described on the bottle as a cross between an IPA and a Tripel and mote of the latter for me.
4.2 Light bitter aroma of grapefruit & lemonade. Clear golden with a large very long lasting white head. Very long lasting medium bitter taste. Medium body, sticky texture & average carbonation
3.8 Yellow colour like a Hoegaarden and with foamy white head. Smell of hops, citrus, citrus fruits and belgian yeast. Taste is hoppy with sweet notes of dades, lemongrass, marple syrup and belgian yeast. Strong bitterness with a sour hint in the aftertaste. Surprisingly oily in combination with a rather high carbonation. Great, covers the alcohol percentage well. Tasted on a camping site in Jura, France with S.
3.9 Taste of Belgium, Kenwood. Draft. Farmy, strong, pale; lacey, good.
4.3 Aroma a platano
4.8 Very good
2.2 Niet lekker is ook een ippa, links laten liggen
3.9 Golden color with huge pillowy white foam head. Poured into a Chouffe glass. Melon, rind, pine and grapefruit aromas. Very balanced, sweet, smooth and inviting flavors. Fruity, zesty. High carbonation. Not over hopped like some IPAs. Lighter and more balanced. Sweet and citrusy lime and lemon. Nothing artificial, just smooth and drinkable. Backed by a tasty Belgian yeast strain that keeps it all in balance. The high IBU count is quite well concealed within the sweet blanket of fruit flavors. Lush, luxurious and tasty. The bottle says “IPA Triple Beer” but that may be due to the three different types of hops used to make it. RateBeer actually terms it to be a Saison style, which seems fair to me. It is less hoppy and bitter than the great majority of DIPAs out there.
3.8 Very good beer from a top tier brewery, but... Everyone has a different taste...needs a tad bit more hops! Been drinking this beer for many years. Always considered this beer one of the best IPAs you can buy in Europe. But, the competition is creeping up. Duvel has seemed to improve its Citra IPA...used to be Chouffe Houblon was always a tiny bit better. This year, I'm not so sure. 🤔🤔🤔
3.9 Wunderbier!
3.9 bottle. Poured cloudy yellow with a thin creamy head. Mild lemon citrusy hop aroma. Medium bodied, high carbonation, crisp dry mouthfeel, warm finish. Flavour of sweet malts, biscuity and oaty, big hops to balance it out, notes orange peel, pepper, coriander, some yeasty esters. A very nice triple.
3.1 Bottle from HavnensVin&Tobak. Pours hazy straw yellow with huge white head. Aroma is malt, grain, yeast and hints of lemon. Taste is medium to very sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic. Body is oily with light carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes is malt, grain, dandelion, hibiscus, spruce and line zest
4.4 Yellow, lightly cloudy nice white foam. Strong aroma, fresh hay and flower. Malt with strong fruity hoppy aftertaste. High in carbon.
3.8 Gold pour, huge head (more head than beer!) that faded down into a thumb-sized cap. Aroma of yeast, white pepper, grass, light hoping. Hops come through more in the taste: sweet pine, candies, yeast, light pepper notes, wheat. Medium body, sweet pine finish.
3.1 Smell-weak to medium, hops, Belgian, weak caramel. Foam-thin, roast, bitter tones, hops, citrus. Head is large, white color. Appearance- beer-specific bottle cap, the label itself nice, but generic for the brewery.Clear orange-yellow amber, some active carbonation. From- snifter Price- 2,49 euros Taste- hops, Belgian yeast, acidic tones, weak sweetness, more hops, herbal, fruits. Quite hoppy, with citrus notes, Belgian yeast. Bit odd, but not bad. Not too easy drinking and a bit not up my alley.
4.0 Blonde, beautiful and stupendous.
3.8 Straw coloured pour with a fine bubbled head. Aromas are citrusy with a noticeable spiced fruit backbone. Taste delivers a crisp, fruity beer… summoning thoughts of what a fortified witbier might be like. Spices, citrus, a slight sour vibe thats leans into the saison thing. Great beer and unique.
4.0 Vidange

3.8 Bottle. Hazy gold, fluffy white head. Belgian yeast, subtle citrus/lemon. White pepper notes. Nice.
4.2 A deep orange colour on pour, with a big, bubbly white froth and lots of bubbles. Citrus aromas, with an unmistakable whiff of witbier. Taste is clean, with lots of fruit background flavours and a crisp bittersweet finish. Lovely!
4.3 Belgian yeast for sure. Light citrus. Herbal. Fruity. Sweetness of a tripel, bitterness of an IPA. Grassy. Lots of flavour. Tasty and potent.
2.6 Geen liefhebber van HOP maar goed biertje voor wie het wel graag heeft
3.8 From bottle (BB Sept'21) in Belgian ale glass. Pours slightly cloudy gold w/a cm of white foam that provided a bit of lacing. Earthy aroma, mixed w/Belgo yeast. Nicely rounded taste, good bittersweet balance, light spice to close.
3.6 Minimalnie gorszy duvel tripel
4.1 330ml bottle from Delhaize store in Bruxelles, drinking it on 22/07/2021 BB 11-2022 Pours nice, fully hazy slightly yellowish golden with large frothy white head on top, lots of bubbles and strong lacing. Aroma is intense of belgian yeast and piney, grassy hops, not the hoppiest overall but very nice, sweetish, fruity and spiced aroma. Taste is fresh, fruity and hoppy with citrus and grapefruit notes, moderate sweet, touch of slight sourness and a nice strong spiced and bitter enough hoppy finish. Medium body, slightly oily texture but smooth and medium, adequate carbonation. High 9% abv that is great yet doesn't get too noticed in the mouth. So refreshing, tasty and highly drinkable, very hoppy without being too extreme, quite balanced with both belgian and classic IPA elements, pretty much there and slightly easier than the Duvel Tripel Hop IPAs.
3.9 Lekker citrusfruitig bier
3.5 Af en IPA at være
